Go there for the Belgian Navy Days and enjoy a tour of military ships of the Belgian Navy, mine hunters, frigates, a visit of dry docks and numerous stands selling snacks and military paraphernalia, all in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

The Port of Zeebrugge is proud of the (increasing) number of cruise ships calling Zeebrugge, but there is not the slightest road sign indicating where the cruise ships are berthed, or where to go for picking up your passengers. So, you better know your way ! No problem for me, as I go there since years, but "good luck" for those who are not familiar with the area ! The passenger "terminal" is just a tent (welcome, dear passengers ...). Also, some seem to be "more equal" than others: some can enter the area, other are "kindly requested" to stay out and "shop" for a parking spot "somewhere" on the street (no parking foreseen for them).

If you're looking for the P&O ferry terminal to Hu...

If you're looking for the P&O ferry terminal to Hull, England, research it before you travel, because the signage is pathetic. There are very few references to P&O and even fewer for the Hull ferry. Unless you know the pier number, you are STUFFED. Zeebrugge is a MASSIVE port and if you go to the wrong part, you will cover a lot of miles and waste a lot of time before you get to the right part. It's no good asking for directions, because the port staff only know their own part of this huge port, they haven't a clue about the rest of it. Zeebrugge is without doubt the worst port I have ever been to and I have caught ships/ferries from Newhaven, Dieppe, Plymouth, Southampton, Portsmouth, Dover, Ramsgate, Harwich, Hull, Ostend, Rotterdam, Bilbao and Santander without problems or incidents (though Bilbao was poorly and confusingly signed, but nothing like as bad as Zeebrugge). Maybe Zeebrugge isn't so bad to arrive at, but definitely NOT recommended as a departure port. AVOID!

If you look at the logistics of such a turnover of goods and the friendliness of the servants with many different nationalities who are made here every day, it is a masterpiece in harmony between technology and people. Very impressive. Certainly some things can still be improved here, but my admiration and appreciation always find it. Thanks to all the staff there.

In the harbor there are two fish shops with fresh fish. We liked the Viswinkel Saskia best. There are also numerous restaurants and two museums. Harbor cruises are offered. With the tram you can quickly reach the surrounding beaches. Heist is especially recommended for children. For visitors without children Zeebrugge is recommended for gambling Blankenberge. Otherwise clean and safe for a port!

Great seaport, very busy traffic which got completely stuck at the intersection for the 2 bridges, when they were open for over an hour, nothing was mentioned on the info board at all!
