One of the best places to visit in the state of Virginia. Maymont has beautiful nature scenery and if you go during summer or spring there will be very beautiful colorful flowers and trees. It's a big place that you would have to come at earliest you can come to explore the entire place. There is always something to do in this wonderful place.

So, so beautiful and expansive! Room for everyone to do anything: walk, have a picnic, play catch, take photos, or just sit and read. The landscaping is spectacular and though the house is currently closed the grounds and exterior are gorgeous. The gardens are a must see. Parking is available and easy. Looking forward to returning!

Loved this place. I went in not even knowing there was a mini zoo there. I was just going to walk the gardens. There were lots of hidden surprises though, and I was pleasantly surprised. Even the gardens were impressive though, especially the Japanese garden. I would love to go again sometime more prepared and spend a long time.

This place is truly incredible. I've been to many parks and gardens, but this one easily tops some of my long standing favorites. Great place to take the dog, kids, your picnic basket, camera, etc. The Italian and Japanese gardens were definitely the highlights for me... and many others judging by the amount of people there. I did not get to tour the house due to covid, but hope to when I return one day.

This place is good for the soul.

Absolutely gorgeous for the entire family! Great area for picnicking, beautiful hills, gardens, beautiful display of animals, Nature center is great for kids along with the feeding farm area at the entrance. Just a beautiful 100 acre gem in the middle of the city. A $5 suggested admission (Free) as it is worth more than that! Worth our almost 2hr drive for a Sat or Sun get away.

Beautiful place to walk around. Have a picnic, and throw. Football. There is a suggested $5.00 admission fee but once again it is suggested not required. They had sheep, goats, eagles, horses, cows etc. to look at. The maymont House is beautiful from the outside. We went on a Sunday and they were not open to view from the inside but we want to go back to see what it looks like. We even found a spot to sit and watch the train go by over the River. A peaceful place to visit.

Beautiful park to visit and be outside. Take a blanket or a chair and enjoy the sunshine. Pack a lunch and relax. We walked the trails through the Japanese and Italian gardens, saw the bison, bobcat, eagles, raptors, elk, bear and a hawk in a nearby tree. Beautiful flowers throughout with sculptures and history too! Donation boxes available to keep this TREASURE open and available to all. You have a wonderful city as we were visiting from Roanoke.

This park never gets old! Every season is beautiful. The trees are amazing! There's a barnyard, aquarium, waterfall, zoo and much more! Plan to spend hours as here. Plan to walk and walk and walk some more but also plan to be in awe. I never pass the chance to stop in for a visit here and it's never exactly the same, but always beautiful.
