Mayfield Dairy Farms Review

Went there for a tour but no tours on Wednesdays so we just had a ice cream cone.

Cool visit and not knowing but your paid tour also get you ice-cream... You never see ingredients mixed, for obvious reasons but kids may get a kick out of watching the conveyors... Adults may be shocked to hear how much milk is produced each hour

It's an ok place I guess, I wouldn't mind going there again, everyone is pleasant and will help you.

Very interesting and cheap way to spend some time. Not only do they offer a tour. But they have a store and you get free icecream. I recommend doing this.

What a great little stop along our journey through Tennessee! We enjoyed seeing how al the milk and ice cream was packaged and shipped. Then it was great to get a few samples of ice cream at the end. Definitely worth the detour!

Me and my family make it a tradition to come here every summer. It's a fairly small area, but the ice cream is beyond delicious. They serve flavors like birthday cake, butter pecan, and one of my personal favorites, extreme moose tracks. Outside, there is a porch with rocking chairs for people to sit on, and there is a small cow figure made for children to play on. Inside, you can buy souvenires and sit down and eat your icecream. There are also educational videos that play, showing how the icecream is made, but it goes more in depth if you choose to take a tour on how they make it. I'm not sure how much it costs, but I definitely recommend doing it, as when I went it was a lot of fun. Overall, this is a great place to eat ice cream as well as spend a little time with your family.

The tour $4.95 which includes a generous single scoop cup or cone is well worth it. It is an interesting education on the processing and packaging of milk and ice cream. The tour requires the ability to climb 20 stairs.

At fist I thought this place was going to be too much like a standard plant tour, but I was pleasantly surprised. As a guy in his late-40's I can honestly say this place is good for all ages. Also, the free ice cream at the end of the tour is excellent.

Disappointed with the tour. Although cheap, it was very short and only showed the packaging of the milk. Also, the employees seemed to not care. The audio system is very poor, and not working. Some reviews mentioned a video. I saw the screen and projector in the first room, but they never even played the video. Probably because it was their last tour of the day and they were ready to go home. The place also smelled terrible. The ice cream at the end was good though.

I grew up in this area and their products and story becomes part of your history. I have always loved their products and their story. If you don't understand then you should go on a tour when you are in the area. Take a try of their frozen cream and you will then see what I mean.

Lack luster tour guide. Don't think one employee smiled or demonstrated any enthusiasm in the whole place toward guests. No notification on website or when purchasing tickets that no tour would be given of the ice cream operations. No compensation given when getting ice cream included with the tour. Tour times should be clearly posted on website as well. They are on the hour, so if you come a half hour late, you'll have to wait. Feel like they could do better. On the up side, facilities are clean.

I always got the "Blueberry pie" or something along the line..Blueberry something lol, it was amazing. The employees were extremely nice, plus the eating area had a nice vibe, with the huge cow Statue and all lol.

I LOVE Mayfield s lemon icebox pie flavored ice cream. It is the best. Please never stop making it.

we really enjoy going on the field trip with our kids school to this location. It's a lot of fun the kids really enjoy it and then we get to eat ice cream afterwards

Traveling through from out of state. Seen board and checked website. Said was opened so detoured to stop but was closed when got there.

Very short staffed in the gift shop. Guide was hateful. Tour was short and it stunk very bad . This was definitely a disappointing field trip.

They offer tours, gift shop goodies, and ice cream. Take the tour, you get a free ice cream sandwich. Whenever I visit my grandparents in Athens it's a tradition to stop by at least once

The place needs help the rest room is disgusting and no place to change a baby

The people here are so nice,and the ice cream is de-lish!also has a small gift shop to take home a memento of your visit.tours also.well worth a trip especially if you are travelling with kids,ice cream and a trinket- happy kids! (Well, adults too)we will be back. FUN

Over priced and rude staff they have a farm and are still expensive. The managers that run this place is a joke they need to learn the basics about customer service. But I guess they don t care about losing business

Best ice cream ever! We always make a point to pull off the I-75 here on our way to Florida for an ice cream treat. Our dog absolutely adores the vanilla ice cream and the field and river close by for a snack, a run, and a swim!

Took a tour of the factory in the visitors center. Great trip. Got a scoop of our favorite ice cream. The staff is super cool.
