Great last minute place to stop and tour. Very inexpensive and ya get an ice cream too! My 11 year old enjoyed herself as well as myself. Very educational for sure. If you're in the area, stop in. That is what we did literally.. on the way back from the mountains and seen it on the attraction sign.

The tour for 4.50 was a great deal. You get the equivalent of a 2.50 scoop of ice cream (that can be upgraded for 1 dollar more) in addition to an awesome tour of the factory. Would definitely recommend stopping by!

Was a very good experience and would recommend taking the children or just going with friends or by yourself. If possible I would try going during the week while production is running to see all the machines alive and active. It is like any other corporate factory tour, it give you the rich history of May field, and will let your roam freely about the gift shop, and when its your time for the tour they will take you to a room to see the introduction to Mayfield film. Where they will also pass out hairnets for the factory tour. The tour itself is amazing, and the tour guides are very very knowledge about the plant, the processes, and the history. The tour itself is 4$ per person, but that is really to cover the cost of the free Ice cream they provide at the end. Its a great place to take the kids for a short and sweet tour and a fun thing to do on the weekend. Would highly recommend!

We had a great time seeing the method used to bottle the milk and make the ice cream. The flavor we chose at the end was blueberry cream pie and it was delicious! Really great to see an American company that has stayed in the family for so long and grown so much.

Was a nice place....I advise anyone with EPILSPY to ask what noises & smells they might encounter before they take the tour. I had to end my halfway because of the smells. Each person is different but ask first. Place is great though & they were so sweet & concerned. My daughter completed the tour. It was wonderful. The ice cream alone was worth the trip.

Based on the previous reviews we visited this plac...

Based on the previous reviews we visited this place, this shouldn t be called as a dairy farm because it is just the factory visit and that too many aspects were not part of the tour. Ticket cost is $4 for everyone more than 3 years which includes a free Ice cream 1 scoop at the end of the tour. Tour starts with a short video clip explaining their evolution and then the plant tour begins - it has 4 stops (Milk container molding division, Milk filling station, Cleaning/ Washing station and the ice cream preparation section - they showed ice cream preparation process as a video only and not the real process as such! Missing aspects were - They can start somehow with showing some part of their actual farm, How milk is transferred to the factory, how it is processed/pasteurized, what process done for whole milk, 2% or fat free Milk, carton filling with Milk and along with Ice Cream preparation. Only good thing is they have good number of front chairs and tables for us to enjoy the ice cream, ice cream shop and a great entrance with gift shop. Kids will not like the tour as such except for grown ups. The tour is around 1 hour they claim and it can be considered as 30 to 40 minutes one actually. Overall if not seen we aren t missing anything but if we want to kill some time can be visited barely one time.

Mayfield was absolutely incredible because, how often do you get a tour of a milk and ice cream factory. I went in with high hopes and I really enjoyed it. I got to see how milk was packaged and distributed and how ice cream was packaged and made as well. The employees and staff were all very friendly and they were very passionate about their line of work and what they did. I must say I was impressed with the factory and I enjoyed the ice cream at the end of the tour as well.

Came to Mayfield Dairy Farms during the 2017 eclipse. The staff was very accommodating to the above average crowds on that day. Tour was enjoyable and you get a scoop of ice cream at the end. If you are in the area its worth the time to stop in.

Was a nice tour, our guide was Allison and she was very good. Let us ask questions and took time to answer. She was very knowledgeable about the place. Took about 45 minutes to an hour. $ 4.50 a piece and I thought that was a fair price. You get a free scoop of ice cream at the end of the tour, any flavor you want. Good experience.

It doesn't always smell great but the guides are good about warning you ahead of time. My grandparents milked cows and if you were in the same boat as me then you'll know the smell instantly. The manufacturing process is really interesting and it's good to know they make their products with quality in mind. Tours leave on the hour. Depending on the day you go they will be making lots of lovely items or not. Of course on the weekend they will likely be shut down and the tour will just be to see where and what tools they use. Be sure to call ahead for hours since it is a short window on some days. You get icecream at the end of the tour!

It had been a while since we came last but the tour was great. You get to see how they create the milk jugs to filling with milk and also the ice cream side. You get some ice cream at the end which is the best part as Mayfield ice cream is some of the best ice cream I've had. Staff was also very nice a well. Highly recommended.

Overrated. Best ice cream in the world in 1981 but the world has moved on since then. The tour us ok but I went in the evening when most if the machines had been shut down for the day and so it was not so fun. Beware that there are loud noises and machine /plastic smells throughout the tour. They only show you the filling and packaging part of the factory. I was interested to see how the ice cream was actually made. One thing I got out of the tour us how much wastage modern processing plants have. If I were a milk cow I would be rather furious. Then again I'm guessing its the same for other industries. The ice cream is pretty standard, nothing really to shout about. But its a nice rest stop if you are on a road trip. You have to pay for the tour but get a 'free' ice cream at the end. No photographs allowed during the tour.

We stopped for a quick dairy tour and dessert pit stop. Tours include ice cream with paid admission of $4.50 Adults and $3.50 children... tours are on the hour and lasting 45 minutes. The staff we encountered hardly smiled and was not overly friendly... not sure if they were having an off day. (minus the 1 star) otherwise it was worth the stop. Unfortunately no photography is allowed while on tour. On the way out we did encounter a fairly young staff member that went out of her way to say thank you for coming today and come back and see them! Also inquired if we enjoyed the tour and desserts...

Lots of fun things for the kids to do in the fall....

Lots of fun things for the kids to do in the fall. We went for the corn maze and hayride. Both of which left me disappointed.

The corn maze trails were so poorly marked we started in the large maze and walked out of the small. The corn was only about 3 feet tall so really quick and boring. I don't know if the giant weeds are there to mark off trails or what but if you like corn mazes give this one a pass.

Next was the hayride. A quick circle around a smallish pumpkin patch. I'd say it was about a 10 minute ride at best.

The rest of the stuff my kids loved but then it's really not hard to please a 7 and 3 year old.

It's ok but there are better harvest activities not too far away.

My husband and I took this tour with about 15 other people. It runs each hour. We got to see the machines that made the milk containers/jugs and also the filling of the milk. We did not get to see the ice cream or the juice being made. The tour itself was very difficult as the sound system for the guide was terrible. Most of the tour we could not hear or understand him. Even so it was interesting and not that expensive especially when you get some good ice cream at the end. Try the Extreme Moose Tracks. It is the best.

The tour is fun & our tour guide, Brook, was wonderful! You get ice cream at the end that's covered in the admission price I guess. Very affordable & you can relax outside to eat your ice cream after the tour. Heads up, there are no actual farm parts, it's all about the packaging side of things!
