Absolutely the worst customer service you will ever get! If you call them on the phone you will be on hold for an hour, exactly 60mins, you will be told "we are experiencing high call volumes and you have to call us back at a later time". If you walk in, they are very rude, disrespectful and not willing to help at all. They are treating you like a prisoner.
This is a shame for the state of Massachusetts and the city of Boston

Since the year 2003 when I first started the program it's been helping me quite a lot every month and through the years and still is today.
What's the point of requesting your ss# when the DTA hangs up before you can finish punching it in? Outrageous and disgraceful. Then again, every time I've gone to DTA in person, the applicants are treated as subhuman. Why do these people have jobs?!
Tried to apply for SNAP. Filled out the online application five times. Each time I completed it and when I came to the submit button I was told to select which program to apply for and SNAP was not one of the programs. Called four different numbers and could not speak to a person on any of them. This is a disgraceful system. DTA should be ashamed.
The employee's who work there are slow they are beating the state by not working fast
I not sure why so many people are raising so much hell , food stamp are there to help you get back on your feet , And not a way of life . I only get $16.00 and that sucks , But I can at least get a little something in my stomach and I am thankful that I get that
i called today @2:20pm a women picked up her name is Michelle and she was so dam rude she wouldn't help me she told me not to call this number and not to call on Fridays just to call on Monday i asked her what was the number i had to call she was just so rude about giving me the number so i asked her what was her name she keeps on changing the whole entire converstaion i asked her again i need her first and last name she only told me her first then not giving me her last name so i can complain about her because she wasn't doing her job instead of being so dam rude on the phone with people who needs help instead she hung up on my face again so rude worst custumer service EVER!
I absolutely HATE this office ! DO NOT CALL IT ! I had to fix something on my application that was wrong and when I told the woman on the phone it needed to be fixed, I was called an idiot . The woman was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful ! From now on, I will contact the Worcester office . They take the time to listen to your concern and don't fire back and yell at you ! Too bad the woman didn't give me her name, I'd contact her boss and get her fired ! WORST DTA OFFICE EVER !
It is ridiculous been trying to call for the past 2 weeks to talk to a representative and they are always either assisting others or it hangs up right after they tell you the lines are all occupied.
You can never get a hold of anyone as if ya that is calling don t have a job!!! It is very annoying an unprofessional!!! In regards to Snap Food Stamp Assistance, I think the whole system is screwed up. It dosen't help people with sudden events such as car accidents or health illness requiring money to be paid for medical bills. It doesn't help people who are paying back student loans and or who pay large amounts of money for health insurance and union dues. It dosen't take into account that teachers aids cannot work every week of the summer and therefore do not get paid for those weeks.
I heard directly from DTA's employee's main mouth, he said, that this family they do not care if this family starves or live in the streets, because I was there and heard myself. What happen with this Country? What happen with the ideals, character, that represents this Country that describes the Independence AMERICAN Country, that was built, helped and defended from people from all over the world. The American Government says does not tolerate discrimination, bullies, etc.... Are you about that? if the people that works for them, are bullies themselves! what happened with the evolved humanity that we forgot what Country we are in, and known through out the world, one of the best, organized, etc... If I go o another Country you are obligated to speak, learned they language, because it is their law, we need to respect them. What about the people from other Countries that comes here, you obligate them to learn their language, why i always hear *press#" for Spanish from down SW

Went on line filed and was contacted to provide more documents and I did and the sent me my card and letter once it was all in.
There s a worker that answered the phone and was extremely disrespectful to me . Didn t allow me to ask any questions I had. They need to hire people who s going to be more respectful and understandable towards people
MASS state government - is the best one!!!!. Trust me, you don't want to deal with states like West Virginia or Missouri. My suggestion: buckle up and sit back on the line, you need those benefits, not a costumer service assistant.

The location I went to in Boston was great. Aside from a security guard that was certain I had alcohol in my bag, but was put in his place when he found out I was telling the truth and it was just a makeup vile. That felt almost as good as getting approved Can't stand authority figures like that. But other than that one douche canoe my experience was not bad. My case worked was polite and went above and beyond to help.
Side note- I wonder if the ppl complaining are bringing it on themselves. Maybe if you're polite, respectful and don't come off as an entitled prick, case workers will treat you with the same respect.
I have had a great experience with the people thus far. I was quick with getting my stuff in and each time I called I was helped by someone.
Job training for employees who work there is a must! Some act like they are miserable and hate the job and the people they are there to help. If not for people in need you would not have the job your so miserable at! Do a career change
Thank you for all your help in my times of need. Much respect for those of you that deal with the people that show you none when all you're here to do is help. Usually when someone points the finger at everyone else who "causes" their problems they always forget to point at themselves for starting them.
I am not sure that I am writing this for the correct location but I just wanted to send a very big thank you! I applied not very long ago and received a call back within 2 days and benefits just a day after my phone call. I am very grateful for both the people that work here as well as the support I receive which in all honestly keeps me alive. I have only ever had positive experiences with the DTA in MA so I hope these reviews go up because I can't imagine people are being turned away. Thank you and God bless! <3
How do you or do not, communicate our card deactivating and new one issued without us getting caught at the store with food?
No email, no ph call, no app notification. Do better and escalate to fix this!
They sent me some DTA forms to fill out, along with a Voter Registration Form.
I mailed them back, and the DTA forms were processed, and I assumed the Voter Registration was too. Until I was turned away at the polls in Nov. 3rd.

What a joke! Supposed to be there to help families in need but can never get a hold of anyone. Online or phone is not enough! Being able to go to a local office is much more convenient and better 1 on 1 customer service.
Called asking for information around housing for a patient, the person who picked up the phone was extremely disrespectful and rude, angrily asked "why do people call here for that," gave me a number to call (which was not working), and hung up on me.
This is the absolute worst place of all the offices. I've been here for over 2 hours waiting for a replacement card because mine won't swipe anymore. This is absolutely ridiculous the most unorganized unfriendly jerks. Honestly I've never seen anything this slow in my entire life.
Other than a slightly long waiting time, Everything went smoothly and without any problems, and the employees were very kind and helpful. I was at the DTA office in Chelsea.

Salem Ma office is ridiculous. They ladies that literally only get you a number are useless. Ask them something about how to do somthing related to the DTA and they unashamedly dont have a clue. I told the lady She may want to do a little research about what she does and she says i'm good. Sad she doesn't recognize what a good job she has. What other job can a bunch of people wait for service while the employees are allowed to nonchalantly putts around with no reguard for the people they serve. Of course non of thier clients are in a position to complain. They should do a secret shopper and see the way they are treated.
Very very very unprofessional service, while I do understand it s not the most glamorous place to work , but without these citizens in need ,they d literally have no job. This is America and the GOVERNMENT issues these monies/benefits to the people who need them , the least they should do it hire people that are genuinely want to help!

I wish that I could give zero stars because I sent in all my paperwork and my food stamps get shut off. I am angry because I can't even get food for my family.
I got here 4:50 pm days after they stole my EBT card.
They would not open the door even though they closed at 5 pm.
15 police officers at the door. They got called in when they knew I had no food left.
Was on food stamps they took me off and now demanding $2300 from me and now they are going to steal my tax returns. They are thieves
