Had this at a small trattoria in Downtown LA. Its definitely the best wine I've ever had.
Been buying by the case ever since.
I've shared with with many friends and all of them have been amazed.
The amarone della Valpolicella classic d.o.c. g by Cantine Masi and the fuoriserie by @masiwines. Do you think that lives on the shelf 30-35 years! Costasera because it was born on the vineyards facing the evening ... The point of reference for the Amaroni category is proud, majestic and together with Barolo and Brunello it represents the aristocracy of the Italian Reds. Complex processing: it is produced with the technique of drying with the autochthonous varieties of the classic Valpolicella Corvina Rondinella and Molinari, which rest on bamboo racks in the winter months concentrating the aromas. With a very intense Ruby Red appearance, it tastes of cooked fruit, cherry plums with notes of coffee and cocoa. It goes well with important and tasty dishes, grilled red meat or roasted game or tasty cheeses that are slightly spicy, like parmesan. End of meal wine should be served at 18-20 degrees. Excellent!
Masi is a top quality producer of fine wines in the Veneto area. I have visited the house several times and have never been disappointed. Great wines, great people and in a rich cultural area. Sandro and family know the meaning of quality. Best regard as from Nova Scotia, Canada.
Farm of great quality, I was able to taste some of their bottles of amarone that I found of great quality. Hope to visit their winery soon!
We (wife, daughter and me) visited Masi two days ago and appreciated excellent service. My two ladies tested around 10-12 different red wines with very detailed explanations about the differences within the tested wines and its production. As I'm the only driver in the family I could only test with my nose...;) We then choose 4 different red vines (3 bottles each) plus a dessert wine and a bottle of Grappa. Total value of 240 EUR for 12 bottles + dessert wine + Grappa. We really appreciated the very warm and friendly service and also the possibility to test high price wines in a way that can only be described as grounded, not arrogant, together with an excellent knowledge about their products. Highly recommanded!
Very well situated winery in the heartland of Valpolicella. We missed the tour so we had wines by the glass. Masi is a massive company with ok wines. Our 12 Euro per glass wines were less than 3 ounces!! A bit of rip off
Masi brings very high quality wines in your glas. Great place to be and very friendly people there. Might be a little bit to high in pricing but still one of the top.producers in valpolicella.
Excellent tour and good tasting. Beautiful location. Well worth the visit.
