Martyrs' Shrine Review

Nice and quiet place to pray. The place has a nice shrine, huge spaces to camp, do BBQ, picnics etc.

Peaceful, lovely grounds to walk around in. There's even a lookout tower to climb. Two of my ancestors were here in the 1600's with the Jesuits, Guillaume Couture and Eustache Lambert. It was great to visit and feel a connection to the history of the area. Highly recommend seeing the inside of the church and viewing the many attractions on the grounds such as the lookout tower and the multitude of plaques and statues.

a place to hear mass, pray and reflect to your spiritual being. its a nice place to go picnic with the family. but cant stand dogs barking while hearing mass. they really need to keep theyre toilet clean otherwise whats the use of the fee theyre charging???

Religious or not, everyone finds something that they enjoy here. The grounds are wonderful for picnics and walks, the church has wonderful architecture and incredible history. The cafe? It has incredibly tasty food!

This is a beautiful church on a mountain in Midland Ontario, very peaceful and worth driving 2 hours to get there. The church has a big green space to accommodate picnic groups. I love visiting this place with families.

A beautiful shrine opened in 1926. The 5000 candles for First Light was amazing. Live firing of the musket. Even a small eatery with smoked sausage was awesome. Very happy and many people

Drove to this church to use it as a background/backdrop for the video and photo of a wedding couple, was able to enter for free and use the ground for free. Father Michael was very kind to us and even gave us some suggestions of the different angles that we might want to think about.

Best placd to meditate, very hot in summer though!!!

Everything was beautiful. Clean. We borrowed a wheelchair from the church. The gentleman guide was most kind. After I made a few purchases I went back to the office to thank the person for loaning us the wheelchair and ask for a blessing. The gentleman is a priest. He blessed my cross, Bible and holy water and especially me. What a beautiful experience we will never forget. The , Valentine,too. Thank-you Father. Lesley Karen and Len Brown.

Excellent place, blessed from the entrance. It is where the first pilgrims began evangelization in Canada.

They are open for a few months of the year. This is the only place of worship that I know where the old lady collector makes sure you pay (like you are trying to go in without paying). I know It's for the upkeep and maintenance. I would go there more even if I come from Scarborough but I feel the older staff ladies are grumpy. God forgive me.

My favourite place to stop, pray, wander around. Make it early and make it to mass! Walk where the saints once walked.

Good place for worship, and after a great for a relaxing for lunch with the family in the park provided. After all that midland town centre is only 10 minutes away.

I've been coming here since I was a baby. Its a great place for family gatherings and picnics. The land is steeped in history as well.

My Favourite church is amazing always when I go their with my family it s always a calm and peaceful area and it s really great to go to.

We were surprised and happy to find the most beautiful church not far from home. We paid great respect to the Martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the cause of civilization.

This place is a good catholic historical church to go to pray and learn. This church celebrates the cultural diversity of the world by having a day for almost every culture throughout the year. Every single religious person can and should visit this church because this church is a Miraculous church with all the miracles I've seen happen. So many people go and get blessed there. Whoever has a difficult life, sicknesses, and any difficult situations, just visit this church and you will be blessed.

Serene, good place for quiet prayer time. Located in Midland Ontario. It is run by Jesuit fathers and brothers. A pilgrimage place where you can also see the reliqui of Saint Jean de brebeuf, one of the Canadian martyrs. It has a station Of the cross. Definitely one of the place to visit for prayer.

For pilgrims, I think the place is interesting. At the entrance you need to pay for tickets (in cash, cards are accepted only in the office or in the souvenir shop)

An incredible historic site that ties 400 years of history to the natural beauty of the area. The staff and priests are friendly, informative, and willing to lend some time for questions.
