It's good school for your kids especially for preschools kids.

2yrs at this school, my daughter had been. I wasn't ecstatic the first year, but I said "ok Pam, gi'vem a chance". But, I Should have followed my first mind(God) and transferred my daughter. And days before the last day of that first year(2015-16), I told Dean Price, "only because of convenience, will she be returning). Biiiig mistake on my part.
Second year(2016-17), Sucks...to the zillionth power. My daughter was being bullied. Requested conferences with the Dean, teacher, parents /their children(daughters), even conceded to meeting with social worker...out of Complete desperation. Conference scheduled at 9a on a Monday. Only one other parent showed up, complained no one was there, said they were late and left... 10mins before "9a" So, I can understand why his daughter was always in trouble and somebody else's business. Then, unbeknownst to me, the "conference" was rescheduled...with the other parents, their children, the social worker...and My daughter. ARE THEY CRAZY!!!! And called me asking why I wasn't there. So, the Ignorant social worker tells me, "well Ms...., we can go ahead and do a phone conference with you on the phone" I went off!!!. "First of all, why wasn't that courtesy given to me, the day yesterday?" Secondly, why would have My child in a room alone, with the girls and Their parents, who have been victimizing her, and think it's ok?" That frail heifer gon ask me, "well, do you want us to send her back to class?" Me:"wt...do you think?! I called my daughter's name, and told her to go back to class." The unethical fool then asks me, "Ms...., do you want to reschedule..." I had to hang up. Long story short regarding that situation, I told my child, "you DEFEND YOURSELF BY ANY MEANS". A month later, after things were semi-toned, but still going on, I spoke to that pitiful, unethical, ignorant, piss pot fool of a social worker and told her, "that mess Never got resolved. I don't like you, your work ethics or how you (don't)"handle things. I don't want you saying Anything else to my daughter. And I told my child, "if she has a problem, to go see Dean Price. Or Anybody, other than you."
Other recurring issue... Ms. Frederick. Have had numerous conversations, conferences with her about how she addresses and demeaned my daughter. Her attitude is heinous, disrespectful crude, rude, demeaning, mocking...Completely intolerable, when it comes to the students. And parents. I told her, And Dean Price, "I think And feel, she is racist. She does Not, know how to engage with children. And she finds fault with Everyone but herself." She lied on, to and about me, to Dean Price, saying I Always curse at her and another teacher. Well, after they went outside to talk, and with the other teacher, I Did Cuss her Out!!! And the other teacher denied her lie regarding him and me. I pray and have been praying that that horrible person does NOT RETURN.
But overall, my daughter had been asking since last school year, not to come back. That is what I'm working on. No enough "extracurricular" activities. No field trips for upper grade levels. No science fair, or projects done. No real music program. And the "dance" program...laughable. Then, I see, the children are performing below state level. Not what I signed up for. Convenience has cost my daughter, and me, waaaay too much. Not worth the sacrifice again. I now understand why teachers abruptly leave.

Terrorist movies, bullying, cash money cover-up , violation, humiliation, nepatism, slander, This school should be shut down..I cannot allow them to continue operating out of ignorance and a clear blant disrespect of the Law...This school should be ashamed of themselves..they cannot continue to violate children and their parents..I am disgusted by this school..I hope every parent is as tired as I am..They have done too much to continue business as usual..I suggest every parent on here contact the new Superintendent to complain as I am..This school has changed the trajectory of my children lives and they will be held accountable and justice will prevail!!

This is the most Horrible school ever. The school is very poor (they dont have enough money) . schools are suppose to Be able to supply students with learning materials such as text books, math books, ect. This is probably one of the worst school in detroit Michigan. one of my main reason your child should not attend mlkeca is the Dean of students (for the middle school building). He curse the students out and get in their faces i have saw him do it multiple times if you want your child scratch and bruise free dont send them to this school because the dean and teachers will harm your child. They also do NOT clean the bathrooms and lunch room good. My child found hair multiple times in her lunch. They are infested with bugs to.

Good school, academically. I also like the fact that they have preschool, & daycare as well as grade school. I do wish they had more extracaricullar activities for their students.

Horrible. First I must start off by saying this school is not clean. It is crappy. Teachers are horrible. They are never around when my child got hurt. Staff is rude. My child would come home with scratches, bites and she tells me she was hit and the teacher did nothing about it. Lack of supplies. Doesn't help the children with reading, writing, math or anything to help them learn. All they did was circle time, blowing bubbles, painting and drawing. They take they chidren out to play in the rain. They are unorganized. After beng told my child has sickle cell disease they did not listen to my request and took her outside daily. Signed an unsatisfied and frustrated parent.

I loved it here. I attended this school ever since I was 4 years old. Pre K - 8th grade. I loved all of the teachers there, they know how to teach the children and CARE about the education. The teachers help their students when it is most needed.

Although, the lunch could be a little bit better and the bathrooms should be cleaned and taken care of better. Other than this, a fun, safe learning environment for your children. The staff there are very polite and do their job correctly.

This is a review from someone who as actually attended the MLKECA for 10 years flat. I am now a freshman at the school I wanted to attend and it's all thanks to this school!

Keep up the good work, MLK staff and students!

Best school ever my two kids (6th grader) and (kindergarten round-up) love that school hopefully my kids can go back 2015-2016
and graduate

My twins will not be returning to this school. They do not have enough teachers or assistants. Kids are not learning like they should, class sizes are too big. My twins are 4 and still aren't at the level of education of other 4 year olds children in our circle are at. It's embarrassing that I have paid for these services and this school came highly recommended and it's an epic fail!!
