The services provided by Martha's Vineyard Land Bank are average. While they were able to assist me, I felt that the level of expertise was lacking. The website was informative, but it could be more user-friendly. Average experience overall.

Martha's Vineyard Land Bank is an average company. I found their services to be decent, but nothing outstanding. The staff was friendly, but not particularly knowledgeable. The rates were reasonable, but I expected more value for my money. Overall, it was an average experience.

The properties : their open space trails and their maps on-site are maintained rather inconsistently. Many are quite poorly drawn or outdated, compared to other organization's. I suggest walkers download trailsMV app as their mv landbank sigs are scarce and inconsistent on the trails, often not showing other trails on the maps, or the directions back to the start. Organization: It is irony MV landbank collects mandatory fees from the property owners from each real estate sale and spend the fund to preserve the open space or to offset the development by purchasing more open spaces. But, in recent years, Landbank teamed up with the development company whose goal has been notoriously urban sprawl type development encroaching the open land, challenging the rural town's infrastructures and reducing the open space and building properties in the landbank's property. Landbank's compromise to such development impact added more burdens to town's property tax payers perpetually. This compromise without asking island towns is totally contradictory to their mission statement and betraying to many island home owners/tax payers who had supported their goal, now it all sounds like a lip service, after compromises.
