A camelia I bought from it has a real infestation of insect eggs! Dozens of yellow balls and I don't even know what pest that is!
I really appreciated the help from people there though, they were extremely helpful and nice.

I wanted to start this off with saying this was not an easy review to write, as it's the first time I've ever given a business a 1-star. I purchased over $250 worth of products from the store, one of which was a set of gardening gloves for <$10. I was sold a defective product as the gloves were both R-handed. I understand that mistakes can be made and if the inventory was not checked, that Marshall Grain would be able to remedy the problem. As I don't have access to a car, I tried using the gloves for a small task and was scraped on my left hand. I do not have a vehicle to drive back to the store immediately, so I ended up walking to a nearby store to get gloves that were a proper set and protective.

The next day, we took the gloves to Marshall Grain to return them and were turned away. I called to talked to a sales associate and they were rude, raised their voice at me several times, and told me repeatedly in a raised voice that "I needed to read their policy on the back of the receipt" as they could not give me a left handed glove if I used the product. The gloves were in gently used condition and still look new. In addition, there is no policy posted on the back of their receipt - I checked all 4 of my receipts.

I don't know of any other business that would not accept fault for selling a defective item and not try to remedy the situation. I wasn't asking for a refund, but to receive the product which I was thought I was being sold. Instead, I did not receive the goods I purchased - a pair of gardening gloves.

I usually like to shop local and wanted to go to Marshall Grain because of their history, instead of going to a larger shop that had coupons. My family will not shop here again. I'm not sure what was happening in the store that day, but the sales clerk was beyond rude. I also talked to the Manager, and it is clear Marshall Grain's policies are not written to build business or value relationships with customers. I don't want to be business with any small or large business that treats their customers like this and doesn't accept responsibility or right a wrong.

6/21 UPDATE:
Message from Marshall Grain: THE MANUFACTURER CAN REPLACE THE GLOVES THRU THEM FOR YOU BECAUSE THEY ARE BOTH RIGHT HANDED, WE ARE STILL UNABLE TO EXCHANGE THEM HERE DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU USED THEM AND THE COVID-19 VIRUS DOES NOT ALLOW US TO RETURN WEARABLE
Hoping this goes smoothly and doesn t take 4+ weeks for one pair of gardening gloves, but honestly I won t be doing this if I have to incur additional shipping fees. I m happy with my new Calloway s gloves. Also, many of the employees I met here were not practicing social distancing or wearing face coverings for COVID-19. I was having to take steps backwards to create space.

7/5 UPDATE:
Thank you so much Joyce! I appreciate the update you shared and even more the handwritten card with a proper set of gloves you sent to my home. Joyce s personal touch and apology showed me that Marshall Grain does truly care about their customers and that she did was in her power to make things right. My challenges with one employee should not reflect the practices of the business as a whole. While unsettling, I will give Marshall Grain another chance. I ve updated my rating from 1-star to 4-stars. Thanks for listening to me and acting accordingly!

This business is really disappointing. Supposedly they have a well schooled design person however she really knows very little about drainage, plant selection, etc. I had my back yard fully landscaped in early 2017. In just a short while plants began dying and had to be switched to a different variety, a holly tree died, was replaced by another but it died also. Now they refuse to replace it saying the warranty has expired. A reputable company would either replace the tree or refund my money. I was told that I was treated fairly as they came out 5-6 times. This only proves what a sloppy unprofessional job they did. I have asked for the name(s) and contacts of ownership but my so-called designer refused. I will be taking whatever measures are needed to have this rectified. Charles T Owens, Flower Mound

An early Sunday morning turned chaotic when what was thought to be bedbugs were discovered in a friends bed frame. Not knowing anything but fable and lore about the infestation, I thought that the best idea might be to go to a feed store. Being Sunday morning, most were closed, but Marshalls was not only open but willing to take the time to calm our nerves and explain the reality of the problem and explain their wide variety of products that could help. As it turned out, it wasnt even bedbugs...rather ticks. Thanks to the astute clerk, we saved a lot of time and confusion.

This place has seriously gone down hill! I just waited 20 minutes for the manager to help me but instead of waiting longer I just walked out. I will not buy my products at a place that doesn t honor or respect repeat customers. We have chooses!

Very unique place to check out! Make sure to look all around because they do have plants spread out. The only thing I wish was different was the smell. I do understand some products may have an odor, but this smelled more like cat urine. Again, could just have been me.

I called asking if they sold bird baths. The guy on the phone said, oh yeah, we've got a few. I asked if they were short or if any were close to 3 feet since all I could find other places were short. He said, yeah they're closer to three feet. I get there 8 minutes later and they do not have one single bird bath. I looked everywhere. Why lie? Why not just say you've sold out? What a waste of time.

In their defence from the "poor customer service" review, this is an old mom and pop store, and I am extremely thankful for their presence. They have many organic items not available anywhere in DFW and at a very reasonable price. Whenever I'm in Ft Worth, I make it point to buy something there. Yes, it's not the I'll get you out of here in 1 minute and 15 seconds or less, but they do try and they tend to the customers in front of them. I'd rate them a four but to balance out the lower ratings they don't deserve, I upped it to five.

This beats Lowes or HDepot any day in all aspects! Plants I could not find else where I found here. The two named big box stores sell plants out of season knowing they will not survive. These plants are winter plants like stalks( UK plant). In Tx should be consider late fall through early spring. Primrose. Others but the sell in Spring and all ypu get is 2months if your lucky. Plant in the fall and they will last through a moderate Tx winter into spring. Thats 6 months! Anyway all the plants look healthy. Prices are slightly higher, I do mean slight but the product is much better quality! As for all you bellyachers out there Mr Owens you must have been over watering. Community standards are twice a week. How many times you expect a co. to replace a plant you killed? Everything I bought here is thriving in my novice garder and I went back for more. Took a friend there also & she was delighted! Store also sells my cat food, vaccinations, bric-a-brac for your yard, etc. All in all, I so glad I found this little gem.

I needed beneficial nematodes for a grub issue, but knew I only needed a small amount. Knowing that Marshall Grain sells two sizes, I had my wife stop by there while she was in Grapevine to get the smallest size they have. The people gave her exactly what she asked for, but failed to mention two very important facts: 1. They were out of the smallest size they sell, and 2. No returns on this product.

I drove back over to Grapevine the next day to return the nematodes because she had purchased the larger size. That's when they told me that they were out of the smaller size, and that I had to keep what she bought. She asked for the smallest size they have, which is exactly what they sold to her. Very poor customer service! Some mom and pops, like the Argyle Feed Store are much more attentive and informative.

I got excited when I heard from a fellow plant person that this place had stromanthe triostars but unfortunately when I got here they did have a mealie bug infestation. I couldn t find one outside in the nursery that didn t have a mealie bug :(

It was a good deal for the plant, it was only 10.99 But I was too nervous about risking an infestation with my plants at home so I did not buy.

I suggest just taking a good look at the plants here before you buy. They did have a wide variety but just be careful and quarantine any plants you do bring home to avoid bringing home any pests.

a very bad service! the woman who was on site working. he responded very reluctantly. I asked her about some things and she answered that she worked inside the store. not on the outside. I had seen this business and always wanted to stop to buy. And today that I had the time to do it, I didn't want to go back. In the end I decided not to take any of the plantations that I had thought to buy ... terrible service.

Showed up right at 6pm after driving across town, and had the door locked on me as I was coming in, and the people wouldn't even look out at me waving at them through the door. Knew what I needed and everything.

There are plenty of places where you can buy plants. What makes Marshall special is their people! Have a question about an organic issue? They have your answer? How deep to plant your new trailer. They've got you covered. They're smart, so I don't have to be!

Way too hot in the summer. They should get more fans. I know Texas is hot but it uncomfortably hot. The area around the registers smells of cat urine because they keep a cat in the store. Gross

Great place for healthy, native and adaptive plants. You can also get crops and herbs, supplies, natural fertilizers such as Garrett Juice, and even pet food. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and the prices are fair. Wish there was one closer but it's worth the drive to get plants that are meant for North Texas, unlike what you'll find at Lowe's and Home Depot.

We paid over $200 to have weeds eliminated from our small front lawn. Treatment was unsuccessful and Jim came out and did not seem to care about how the treatment did not work...did not offer to remedy the situation or even offer to try again or refund any amount.
We would not recommend using this companies services and suggest you go elsewhere.

I called the store on Sep. 11, 17 about 2 hours ahead to make sure they have garlic to plant in stock. The answer was "YES". I drove 29 miles to come to the store in Grapevine. The answer in the store was "We are sorry, we don't have now" !!!!!?????? If the store manager could read this, he or she would have a meeting with the employees about how to answer a simple question that would not hurt the store reputation.
