The Marriott that time forgot about ! At least three decades behind in renovations, this property reeks of the early 90 s. Definitely not up to par with most Marriott hotels. I half expected a tube TV in my room.

Staff was kind; easy walking distance to a number of restaurants and some shops.

No clue how this has an average of 4+ stars.. are standards just this low? Great staff, but hotel is straight out of the 90s. Dirty, dated rooms. Cramped bathrooms. It s kind of hard to believe this is a Marriott. Marriott s lower branded hotels are nicer than this one. Dirty stained green carpet that needed to be removed 15 years ago. Zero room in the bathroom to move around. Furniture that looks like it s from my grandmas house. Chipped doors, stained carpets, stained peeling wallpaper. This hotel isn t anywhere near the Marriott standards seen around the country.

The food is ok.
The room lacks a mini fridge and microwave.
Room service is ok. They won't throw empty bottles away or pizza boxes unless you put it in or near the trash.
Staff are friendly.
They have pool, sauna and fitness area.
One washer and dryer for the entire hotel.

Very nice conference facilities! Was here for a meeting and front desk (Kahla) was helpful in letting me know which room my meeting was in and how to find the room. There was staff in meeting room getting drinks for people.

The staff told me to leave because I was sitting with a woman who was locked out of her room. I was just making sure she was on and not subject to drunk people coming back from the bar. I literally got kicked out because I sat with a women and waited for her "roommate" to come back from a different bar.

Front staff were RUDE upon checking in. It was like pulling teeth to get any sort of bedding, towels etc.... Room was dirty, no microwave as promised I could go on and on. Totally a disappointment.

Iowa currently has one of the highest case numbers of covid-19 in the USA.

Couldn t believe the management at this hotel didn t enforce the mask mandate inside buildings. I would say 1 out of 10 people wore masks in the public spaces of the hotel. Lobby, elevators, hallways, etc. Signs were everywhere saying masks required, but staff didn t make people follow the rules. In fact some of the front desk and other staff didn t even wear masks. Makes me assume they don t Take the cleanliness of the rooms seriously either and most likely don t disinfect things properly. Felt really unsafe overall. I won t be staying at a Mariott anytime in the future if they can t uphold the safety of their guests. They just lost a customer. Iowa felt like a third world country with all the people refusing to wear masks in genera. Pretty ignorant and sad.

Tired from traveling, stopped in , May 25/26--clock changed while registering, clerk said, Clerk was annoyed because she was busy on facebook, told us price was now $$40 higher because we had to be charged weekend rates--Attitude and price caused us to leave--went to Laquinta next door...

I had a standard one king bed room with a spacious main area that included a couch chair cofeetable and works desk with lot of room. The bathroom is tiny though as is the closet. The rooms are built around a central area where their dining and reception area are. The soundproofing is atrocious so you can hear the gatherings until nearly 11pm. Once the crowd leaves you can hear the mood music they play in this area all night long.

Great customer service by the staff, I was extremely happy with the way they handled any of my payment issues. I would highly recommend the hotel for business related stays as they take extra attention to making sure that the guests are well taken care of at all times.

I was here for a company paid trip for 10 days and there was no type of refrigerator, microwave, or extended stay amenities whatsoever. Nor was there any type of continetlntal breakfast or any complimentary ANYTHING. Not even vending machines. On top of that, they insisted I give them a personal credit card for incidentals even though they already had a company card on file. My room had no internet access whatsoever and they insisted I pay more for "high speed internet."
The day after I checked out a $250 charge appeared on my personal card for "smoking!" There was no smoking in my room. I am a smoker so I'm sure my clothing smelled of smoke but they couldn't tell me how they came to that conclusion.
All in all it was a terrible experience and I will never go back. I will also recommend to all friends and family to stay somewhere else

Although I've been to Cedar Rapids a few times for business, this is my first stay at this Marriott. The lobby opens up to a vast seated restaurant area which is common with Midwestern style conference center/hotels (stayed in a similar hotel/conference center in Memphis.) Beautiful but for the traveled may seem dated. The room was very accommodating.

The rooms were spacious and updated, and having the bar downstairs in the lobby was convenient. I liked the see-through elevators with the lights; they gave the lobby an unexpected, sort-of retro charm. Most of the floors open up to look down on the lobby, so the rooms are noisier than ideal -- especially if there are kids running around the hotel. (There were two different events going on at the hotel while we were there.) If you want a quieter room, you could probably request one located in the small hallway off the main area.

fun

The people that answer the phones for this company...

The people that answer the phones for this company are the RUDEST people I have ever encountered. Both the people at the front desk in Cedar Rapids and the people at their "reservations" department in Omaha (April in particular) are rude. I was trying to get adjoining rooms as I need adjoining rooms as I have 3 children, one of which has disabilities. They rudely kept saying that they can't guarantee the rooms would be adjoining and then literally hung up on me when I was asking why they couldn't guarantee that request. I was not being vulgar, yelling, or even being rude. I was just trying to explain why I would need the request for adjoining rooms to be guaranteed. If anybody that worked for my company acted like that to a customer, that would be the last day they worked for me. Unreal.

The hotel is one of the nicer ones in the city and the staff is friendly. The reason we stay here is because it has a nice pool and hot tub, however; the tile they used in the pool area is extremely slick. There were multiple people slipping around. It seems worse when wearing flip flops which is usually what is worn to a pool. Otherwise, love this hotel.

Worst burger I've ever had. Food took 1.5 hours to arrive. Only three luggage carts in the entire 200+ room hotel. Bell hop stunk of booze. Air conditioning set at 65 the entire two day stay but never got below 74 in my room. No mini fridge in our room and when I asked they said they were out which was difficult storing milk for our two infant children. Also no changing stations in the rest rooms, poor plumbing loose fixtures. Garbage was stacked and piled outside all weekend on outdoor patio. Very disappointing stay.

The rooms were clean and the front desk staff quite friendly. There was something about the restaurant and bar which were less inviting than other Marriott Hotels. I found that I actually enjoyed hanging out at Chili's next door more than I liked the atmosphere of the hotel bar and restaurant. The fitness room and pool we're nice extras. This is probably one of the better hotel options in Cedar Rapids. Fix the appeal of the restaurant and bar and I'll gladly give 5 stars.
