A large area with foodstalls. The place was a bit empty as it was covid time and we came late for lunch at around 14.00. There is quite a large selection of international food offerings. Something is is sold there for any taste or diet. Normally there is a searing area where one can eat the food, but due to covid this was closed. Certainly give this place a try when you are in basel.
Old and expensive means nothing. Market hall in Rotterdam is a different story
Great place to enjoy dishes from all over the world. The food is really very good, the location is simple but cozy.
Unfortunately, prices are standard for Switzerland and therefore very expensive, even for some very simple dishes. There is no service here in this sense, so I would be of the opinion that the prices could be made "friendlier", especially since you eat on simple tables and benches and don't have a fixed place.
Excellent place to pop in for lunch or dinner. Many different vendors under one hall with many different types of food. Lovely areas to sit and relax while having a coffee and cake too.

Was a bit lengthy to find the entrance - I imagined it as a market - there were many restaurants - food available - very delicious food only barely fresh goods. Was little visited on a Saturday afternoon
Great variety of international cuisine. I tried several stalls and all were outstanding! Great for lunch or dinner. There is also a fantastic place that has literally hundreds of different beers for you to try. I'm not into wine, but there is another shop that serves what looks to be a huge selection of wines along with food.

We always like to go there eating and drinking. Many small suppliers of food and drink from all over the world. As a rule, everyone will find something to their taste. I especially like the fish restaurant. The mixed fish plate with different fish and seafood is my favorite.

Went mid-afternoon for some food and drinks. Most of the stalls were closing or not yet open. Lots of good options for craft beer, wine and coffee - and from about 4pm a flea market opened, more stalls were serving food and the placed livened up

Great offer, great concept, a lot of variety - but unfortunately a little too high priced for a regular visit to my budget. Very great are the events in the show kitchen (eg Vietnamese cooking class).

Totally great place with variety, fun, slide and outdoor area. And the food is sooo good! Unfortunately, a bit expensive for the fact that it has a rather take-away style and after the visit you can put all your clothes and bags in the washing machine. Not bad, but a fact :-)

This is a food court great for casual eating or office lunch. There are several options from different countries cuisines and a common dinning area allowing people to have their own choices from different vendors and share group tables and benches. The prices are quite reasonable for the budget conscious.
The place is quite big and the ceiling very high however food odors from preparation impregnate the air and clothes and the acoustics are quite poor to the point of being annoying when too crowded.
The odors, the acoustics and the canteen style make this place inappropriate for a formal, serious or stylish eat out. However groups of friends or workmates may find it ideal for the variety and overall informal approach it offers.
Very nice selection of different food stands, cafes, Demeter shops ... large tables. The ventilation could work a little better at core time. Again and again, also on the drive through (the train station is just around the corner)

By far the best place to eat lunch in Basel. Something of a street food market, with about 30 stalls from many different places (Thai, Italian, Persian, Ethiopian etc) and all quite competitively priced. Try Thipps Thai (crispy duck) some of the most authentic Thai food you can get outside of Thailand!
