Dan at Mark Lilly's really helped us out when our old car went wrong and we needed a new one quickly, late on a Saturday afternoon, we purchased a Toyota Avensis from them and the whole experience was a pleasure and when we are ready to buy a much dearer car we wont hesitate in going back to them. brilliant service. Stefan was friendly, patient, helpful and knowledgeable. There was a problem with a seat belt and was replaced without question, thank you Theo! bought a car here years ago and just knew our new one would be the right choice from them. Would not hesitate to return in the future. well done all at mark lilly!

Mark Lilly have done nothing to improve the genera...

Mark Lilly have done nothing to improve the general feeling of second hand car salesmen. Our car had to be returned four times, three for the same problem and after the last visit it came back to us with something else broken - we will not be taking our car back to them and will pay a reputable dealer to fix it. I would not use this company again for various reasons which then can take up with me if they so wish.

Buying a used car can feel like a stab in the dark, fraught with worries and fears. Not with the team here. Not only are they straightforward and devoid of the usual 'hard' salesmanship, but they give you the rare feeling that you don't need to arrive with the knowledge of a mechanic. Rather they are helpful and informative, and even go the extra mile in terms of service. In my case lending a courtesy car and even delivering my new car up the motorway for me. But the real ace in the sleeve is the fact that the garage is part of a nationwide RAC-accredited used car scheme that sees 3 month / 12 month warranties over any car you buy. The cars undergo a comprehensive service and the mechanics sign a 40+ point RAC checklist, meaning if pretty much anything goes wrong, you can get it fixed for free. The closest you'll find to peace of mind used car purchasing in the UK.

Bought car from Mark Lily garage from Dan Hack most things were taken care off on purchase .radio wasn t working properly was promised it would be sorted .bought the car on the 18th of September supplied pictures on request for replacement radio I have been in contact with the garage twice to speak to Dan to see how things were going he has not come back to me feel like I ve been fobbed off bad after sales service . Since this review radio was booked in the next day and all sorted . Well done you came through in the end

After having a crash, I needed a car urgently and my friend suggested Mark Lilly as they were known to her. I went along and found a car that suited me. The service was brilliant and they were very friendly, especially Dan and Martin. I felt safe in the knowledge that I had driven away with a car that was safe and sound and I could contact them for help if needed. I will definitely be suggesting this dealership to friends and family in the future. Thank you so much

Picked up my Honda CRV from Mark Lilly yesterday.It looked immaculate. During my initial visit to look at car (with Dan the salesman) ,I was never given one bit of pressure,gave a decent px price,and everything he said would be done on the car was done.Early days with regard to warranty situation,but seem to be genuine ,and value their customers.Not a lot of that around these days.They get my vote !

I have been dealing with Mark Lilly Garages since ...

I have been dealing with Mark Lilly Garages since 2007, when they were able to cure a very intermittent electronic problem with my car that even the main agent could not solve. Since this time I have had both of my cars serviced regularly and also purchased a car from them.

The quality of service is superb, both sales and after sales. All the staff are very friendly and willing to help. I am very happy to give them a five star rating.

Excellent Service, bought a car from the (with circa 67K on the clock), had a couple of things go wrong within the first few days, car was taken back and I was given courtesy car. There was no way of knowing the things were about to go wrong before they did (had this verified independently). Car delivered back to me been been happily driving ever since. When things go wrong you find out how good a company are and these guys came up trumps.

I went to look at a car today. I didn t buy, but a lot of things rang alarm bells. The car had issues with its rear view mirror and all its alloys. It was talked about that this would be fixed on sale, but I ve heard the words we have a body shop guy in site that will go over the car before. The weirdest things I heard was about my clean 3 year old trade in. Words such as we don t normally sell red coloured cars as they are difficult to sell (car yard was full of red cars). Your number is a different shade of red to the sides. There not, it s only nearly 4 years old, no work has been don t to it. Oh, apparently my car comes with the wrong sized alloys. They re stock Seat alloys...Now this was all part of the latter of why they d come up with the trade in price, but what s weird is they take auto traders prices, so why the need for all the mare up bad news before giving my the trade in price? I left thinking the salesman couldn t be trusted.

Bought my Audi TT yesterday and its a dream to drive. The purchase was made easier by the great customer service and confidence that these guys check over the cars and do their best to make the customer feel good about a second hand car purchase. Would definitely recommend this garage and am considering returning to these guys for MOTs and servicing even though I am in the Hastings area.

Excellent dealership, with exceptionally high quality customer service.

We purchased a (5 years old) used car from Mark Lilly motors, and Dan was the sales representative we dealt with. He was very kind, knowledgeable and professional. Dan went an extra mile to accommodate additional requests, ensured car was delivered in time, despite COVID-19 crisis, and shortage of staff.

We were allowed to test drive without showing any commitment to purchase the vehicle. No pressure or scaring tactics, no selling of useless add-ons such as paint protection, seat leather protection etc. All simple and easy, we asked for additional services we needed and Dan arranged those for us on request.

There is only one minor 'opportunity for improvement' for Mark Lilly: Although vehicle was machine polished to a high standard, the interior valet was decent, but there were some marks on the interior roof above driver's head and some hair found in the boot, once I removed parcel shelf and load separators.

Overall, we highly recommend Mark Lilly, will use them for any future purchases and service of the vehicle we purchased from them.

My other half had a puncture on the horsebox. With two horses on board Mark Lilly sent an engineer to help her. He swapped the wheels over and got them back on the road in half an hour.

Amazing service and consideration. I can't thank them enough.

Just bought a lovely car ( Peugeot 208) and wanted to share the experience . I bought it online without even seeing it in person and I was not disappointed !! It's immaculate . It was a pleasure to meet & deal with Dan Hack the sales executive , very friendly & professional ,great customer service , I felt in good hands and the whole set up was so trustworthy with the 1 years free RAC cover & 3 months warranty , I felt they really cared and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Damsels and horses in distress!!!
My friend and I were travelling to Camber last Tuesday for a ride on the beach. We passed Mark Lilley s garage and I remembered buying cars from him years ago. They were very good back then! Further down the road we had a blow out on one of the trailer tyres....day ruined!!! So I decided to give them a ring to see if they could help....half an hour later the lovely Alex came along....he changed the wheel without us having to unload the horses and checked the other tyres which were fine...it seems we were just unlucky! He wouldn t take anything for his time but did ask for us to put a review up. Thanks to you we were able to have a fantastic afternoon with our horses on the beach! Thank you thank you for your prompt and efficient service....would highly recommend you all.

Bought a used Mercedes CLS from Mark Lily last month. I love 2.5 hours away but was put at ease by the rac approval and the warranty. There were a couple of small issues with the car found during the that Mark Lily put right. I would 100% recommend this car dealer to anybody. Special thanks to Dan who was very good and clearly knowledgeable. Thanks

We drove for three hours to look at a Peugeot 508 ...

We drove for three hours to look at a Peugeot 508 that was advertised as being a diesel hybrid automatic.

When we arrived and had a look at the car while the member of staff looking after us was on the phone, we realised it was in fact a non-hybrid diesel manual that smelled strongly of dogs.

It s not our fault, the guy says looking like he wasn t our friend anymore, we put the ad on eBay and eBay did it wrong.

My favourite quote of the day was
They don t make diesel hybrid automatic Peugeot 508 s.
Yes they do, we drove here in one.
Oh. He says, looking like we d just taken his sweets away.

The problem was they had put an ad on eBay which had some key information in wrong.
Gumtree has apparently a copied version of this ad, resulting in our wasted journey.

They have since fixed the advert.



The moral of the story is be wary of the adverts, they may not be true and the staff want you to shut up and go away if there s a problem.

Their attitude and customer service deserves a one star but since they had given us a contribution for our trouble so they get another one.

Guys, go buy your car somewhere else, trust me. These guys will not look after you, they just want your money and they clearly don t know cars as well as they should.

We would not hesitate to recommend Mark Lilly Garage. We picked up our new car today which had been serviced with full attention to detail- they had really gone the extra mile! The sales manager Dan could not have been more helpful and we never felt in any way pressurised. We would definitely return .

I have just traded in my Fabia for an Octavia. In my experience changing cars can always be a little stressful, but Stefan handled the deal in a polite, professional and respectful manner. I'd previously entered into an email exchange prior to making the 160 mile round trip to the garage to view and test drive my prospective purchase. All went according to plan and one week later I became a proud owner of a new set of wheels. Excellent service and well worth the journey to get the family car I/we wanted.

I highly recommend Mark Lilly garages. No pressure, very honest and upfront information. Covid secure, I live 25 miles from the garage, well worth the distance. I bought a Kia Sportage, extremely good value. Thoroughly checked and MOT with no advisories which is a USP for this garage. A minor detail was booked in a and fixed within a couple of hours, they lent us a courtesy car so we could go shopping whilst they fixed it. Dan is extremely helpful , explained the warranties which I think are very good value, sorted out the tax and kindly sent on a new Kia Manual upon request. I would definitely use again.

My girlfriend bought a car from here today. The salesman was really helpful and they were happy to let her test drive 2 cars (without the salesman accompanying her!) to make her mind up. No pressure sales and I got a genuinely good feeling about the place. Let's hope the car and, all importantly, the after sales is just as good.

I cannot praise this garage highly enough, they have been super helpful and have supplied me with a fantastic car. Due to my circumstances at the time, they allowed me to store the car at their garage for 5 months as I was unable to take it on as I was stuck in a finance agreement. Dan Hack was so helpful and kind, I haven't ever met a car salesman with such integrity. I have always felt that I have been in a safe pair of hands and that the garage is trustworthy, always a great feeling when dealing with second hand cars. Thanks so much Dan, for a great service!
