Why would you build a new library when the town is not cleaned up. I think this money could be set aside until such time that Marion is cleaned up from the last storm. If the old one is a total loss why not use the utilities at that site. Tear old one down put up the new one.
The best library ever. The building is pretty old but well maintained. They have a very good books collection for children. The staffs are awesome.
I really love this library. I used to go here as a kid and still go here as an adult. It is a bit small but I'm hoping after rebuilding from the storm damage the library will be better than ever. Right now they are in Marion square which isn't suitable for book browsing. They do pick up and drop off for books from the cedar rapids library if you want to save a trip!
Very nice library, however, almost everytime I stop in to read my book in quite - it's always loud; whether it be teenagers socializing or staff socializing with friends while their restocking/cleaning shelves. It's very disappointing. More times then not I find myself going out of my way to drive to the downtown library just so I can enjoy my book in quite.
Couldn't find the temporary library. A sign would be nice.
Love the fact that they have a program that allows for anyone who is home bound to sign up and join their program! It will send you via US mail the types books that you say your prefer! Awesome. Connie
I have to echo Brittany Heiter's statement from six months ago. I recently tried coming here to Study on multiple days. There are always kids running around unsupervised. Mostly teenagers that are screaming and yelling. If you want a quiet place to read or study I'd go else where. Nothing has changed in six months since Brittany posted.
Like a second home! Has what you want, need, or will go out of their way to get it for you. They have private rooms for quiet if needed. A very welcoming vibe and a safe place for the area kids to come spend time when not in school.
Want to renew a book but not offered through phone service any longer. Otherwise, service is great!
