Money well spent. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. See those turtles save by them is not something you can see anywhere else. My kids is happy to touch and feed those stingray. Spend a good hour and half there with two kids.
This place is beautiful in the since of what they do for injured/sick marine life! The staff is great and so much knowledge. I took my one year young here to break up a rainy day. He was free and I was only $5. He loves fish. All the tanks are at his height to see, he bounced from aquarium to aquarium so excitedly. There is a octopus in a tank that plays ball, so fascinating. The touch sting ray tank is fun, just keep a eye on the little ones so the pacifier doesn't end up with taking a swim. We will be purchasing a pass to continue to learn from this facility. There website is full of details. Enjoy
What a wonderful place to enjoy and learn all about some florida native wildlife and their habitat. It is also super close to the lighthouse so if you're very far from it, it can be an inclusive day. I loved how hands on they are about educating little ones so they feel engaged as well. They even have baby rays you can Pet!
Absolutely loved this place. My husband and I showed up just in time to feed the stingrays and that was so awesome. The entrance fee is inexpensive and I really enjoyed seeing the turtles and all the other animals.
The place is quite small, but absolutely worth a visit. It is great to see how this little bunch of people do all they can to educate us, save marine life, and the oceans. I can only recommend it!
The work the people do at the turtle Rehabilitation Center is extraordinary. They give turtles a second chance at life. It is, however, such a shame that these turtles become addicted to drugs in the first place. Substance abuse is rife in our oceans, with turtles being affected the most. Kelp, like crack-cocaine, is one of the most addictive substances know to turtle-kind.
Very educational and informative about horse shoe crabs, how they rescue and place the sea turtles in the ICU units. They also rescue land tortoises that get hit by cars and rehabilitate them ie. fix their broken shells while you watch... Absolutely loved it!!!
This is a great place to visit whether you're young or old! They have a nice little museum with a bunch of marine animals and information oh, they also have a turtle rehab center housing the same building, and then outside they have a small but rather impressive bird sanctuary. Well worth the admission price to see what they have to offer.
We took our students for a field trip. The staff was very knowledgeable, kind, and organized. Our students were able to view rehabilitated turtles, learn about reptiles, birds, fish, and pet sting rays. It was a great experience and the Marine Science Center helps & rehabilitates many animals in our community.
Gina...is a life saver..literally !!! On Monday morning I woke to a terrible sight..a beautiful night herring entangled in a fishing line wrapped around a power line ..needless to say I spent the morning trying to get help..finally calling Gina at the MSC not knowing her or if she could help but I had to do something the bird is suffering..after talking with her she assured me she would do what she could ,making some calls..To my excitement and disbelief within 20 mins FWC was in the drive .I then saw FPL which btw wasn't really eager to help but did after a call from FWC .After getting the bird down it was in bad shape but good hands as I was directed to ECWR which is an awesome rescue organization My heart felt thank you so much for all you did Gina .You are a true life saver. The bird will be ok.
This place was awesome for us with a 1 year old and 3 year old. Was able to see some stingrays. Small place so it didn't take long to see everything but was fun to get out and do. A little tookie but still recommend checking it out
The Marine Science Center is an excellent place to visit, with or without children in tow. The four kids in our party had a great time, despite the touch pool's having been out of commission (temporarily.) We adults found the exhibits fascinating, as well, and I dare say each of us learned something new during our visit. Don't skip the bird rehabilitation area or the turtle ICU, and please be generous in contributions, as these folks are doing good things for wildlife and the environment. Speaking of which, pick up some reusable stainless steel straws in the gift shop while you're there. Have fun!
Absolutely loved our visit to the Marine Science Centre! Great interactive activities for the kids and so much interesting information. All the staff members were knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend spending a couple of hours visiting and see the great work they are doing for injured sea creatures.
took my Granddaughters here and it was fun. it's small but lot's of good info and the girls fed the stingrays- we loved it- if you don't go into it thinking it's a theme park you will love it too!
We visited here while on vacation. The touch tank area was under renovation so they were only charging $2 for admission. There are some tanks set up with different types of fish, and other aquatic life. The sea turtle rescue area was very informative. There is also a nature trail with an observation tower that you can check out. The staff was extremely informative and very friendly.
Small hidden gem that is great for the family, especially on rainy afternoons. Prices are very reasonable. Manta Ray petting tank was closed during our visit. But it was neat to see them feeding the turtles that were being rehabbed.
PRO TIP: show up 30 min before closing. When there's not a lot of people there, the staff was awesome with my 6 year old. They let her feed the rays, got to use the touch tank as long as she wanted, and even got to see a turtle getting his shell repaired. Learned a lot.
Good place for children to learn about sea creatures. It is a small place and parking is extremely limited! Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Good rainy day activity.
It was mild i dont think they should charge unless they begin to off more. I love what their doing and everyone in the facility deserves so much greatness i think its important to continue their research. Maybe open a program called face to face where for 20+$ you can be cage free with a critter theres so much more that can be done to profit for these beautiful babies that humanity is failing
Fun, wallet friendly, and educational. Touch tank was closed when we went. Price was adjusted fairly. The sea turtles are cool, but for me the octopus feeding took the show for me.
There are experts to tell you about the many different sea creatures you'll encounter there as well as explanations about their environment and feeding habits. Very interesting as well as informative. Great value, too!
A little small but packs a big punch. There is a ton to look at and they even had a turtle rehabilitation center you could observe from above. Staff was super nice as well!
This place is small but great and a good value. It has a lot to learn and a very friendly staff and volunteer staff. You can see turtles and other animals that are being housed and cared for before being released back to the wild. You can pet the sea rays and even feed them at certain times of the day.
Excellent 1/4 or 1/2 day trip for families with kids. Interactive and affordable. Please take the time to see the work they're doing with sea turtles. Amazing experience.
Love this place. They have a touch tank where you can touch sting rays. You can even feed the rays at scheduled times. There are presentations given-horned owl the day we were there.
