Ive been here several times. Foods has good quality.

Came for brunch - food was tasty, but expected more from the service for the price. $14 Caesar was a bit miserable - advertised as something extra special that comes with bacon. It was extremely mediocre. Caesar arrived with a lime wedge, without bacon, while the table beside us got the real Caesar with all the fixings. Had to ask what happened to the Caesar, at which point the server revealed that the bacon was "still coming". A cold room temp morsel of bacon later arrived on a saucer plate. We also later learned that the fryer was broken so the pemeal sandwich showed up with a kale salad on the side instead of fries - but only after we asked the server did he come clean. Our server may have been victim of being short-staffed and some miscues in the kitchen, but a little up-front communication would have gone a long way. Our mains were satisfying, despite coming to the table five minutes apart, but expected more for a $65 brunch bill, for two people. Doubtful we'll be back.

Visited Marben for drinks and appetizers. The drinks were great, food was awesome, and service was superb!!! Will definitely go back...

Food was pretty good. We went for winterlicious. Person who took our reservation was really rude. I booked a full week ahead for my girlfriend's birthday. They texted us to confirm our table on the day of the reservation. I didn't get a chance to reply within 45 min of their text as I was working. At that point they said they will give our table to someone else unless we get back to them asap.

Went to try the burger and while it was good, I'm not sure how it obtained the reputation as one of the best burgers in the city. Portions also seemed tiny, I can't imaging the burger was anything larger than 4oz, I realize its quality over quantity but I need to leave not feeling hungry. We were at the bar so the service was poor to mediocre, perhaps its better if you actually get a proper table. As with a lot of other places I've had better for less and don't know that I'd make a point to go back.

Great place. Excellent food and warm, friendly knowledgeable service. Laid back ambience of a rustic modern pub. Food is sourced as local as possible and the servers know it well. Meat is incredible as is the ricotta tomato app - beautiful! Plus the atmosphere is casual, fun, and friendly on top of sophisticated food. Would cross town again for this.

Food was a 6 out of 5. Service & ambiance 4/5. My 2nd review in 3 yrs, here and in Rome!

Stopped by for lunch. Dan was very nice, excellent server. Coming back for dinner next time!

A wonderful place! My coworkers/friends and I were amazed by the welcoming aesthetic, and the creative classy decor. Oh... and the service/food/drink... unreal! Definitely worth a visit or 10. Thank you Marben & team for a lovely experience beginning to end!

Second time going to Marben and the food continues to shine. If you get a chance to have the burger on the patio while the weather is good, seize the opportunity.

Went here for dinner. I highly recommend making a reservation or you will not get a table or end up at the bar. We had bar seating. I'm always a bit leery of sitting at the bar when I know I'm going to order food, but this was an excellent experience. The staff were quick, attentive, and friendly. The food selection was lovely and it made picking one item a hard choice. I had a few nibbles of the steak which was excellent. The pork belly was melt in your mouth delicious. The atmosphere was very welcoming and warm. Would definitely recommend for a small gathering of sorts or a date night.

Love the decor and the music on Saturday night was very groovy!

We chanced to pick Marben to eat with friends. It happened to be winterlicious so 3 of us went for it. I am sad to say this is the worse winterlicious meal I have ever had. The mussels were under cooked, the soup was passable, the meat in the stew was so tough you could barely chew it. The burger was fatty but delicious and the drinks were good. I would not go back.

First time in Toronto..this place was AWESOME. Great service, great mimosas, and fantastic food. Our server Blake was amazing. Bartender Dan was hilarious & Karen (I think how you spell it) was super friendly and a great host to us. HIGHLY recommend.

The menu offers some traditional fare and some eclectic options - go off the beaten path, you won't regret it.

A gem of a restaurant near the heart of Toronto. Super creative cuisine, the red beet tartare is out of this world, nice and attentive service and an attractive and reasonably priced wine list a great ingredients for a memorable dining experience. The attractive interior, rustic yet modern and simplistic add to the charm of a great venue.

Marben is my go-to in the neighbourhood. The food and cocktails are always a surprising, delightful take on elevated English food and well balanced cocktails. Their extensive wine list is within reach on their half-price bottles Sunday deal. Beyond the good quality of cuisine, what stands out about Marben is the incredibly welcoming staff. This is the only place in Toronto where I've been treated like a regular. Best of all, unlike the majority, there isn't a TV screen in sight.

Food is okay, service was subpar. Meals came out 10 minutes apart from one another. Waitress also failed to mention the fact that gratitude was included while paying.

We love Marben, the burger is amazing and brunch is lovely here. We come back every time we are in Toronto!

Been here a couple of times and I m always impressed by the food. One of my go-to s for a cute little night out.

Food was delicious, tried some of their brunch menu. But we were placed in the back and the curtain was closed off; it felt secluded and kind of killed the vibe. Servers were really friendly and helpful but fairly slow.

Amazing food and beautiful room. Sexy vibes and also great for events! Love the cocktail bar in the basement.

Here s my new review from October 2018:
They removed the wooden plates that had a bed of juicy sauce-soaked fries and have new shared plates concept that are not have as impressive nor delicious as it was before (much less taste in the sides). You should listen to your customers, we used to come every few months and for corporate events but wouldn t recommend it anymore. Just not different enough than other options out there for this price range for shared plates.

Came here for the second time, for my partner s birthday and sat at the chef s table - it was absolutely wonderful. What a show to see them work and the food was great. The chef Chris was super kind. Love the fact they change their menu seasonally - highly recommend the shareable plates.

First time at Marben, went for brunch with my girlfriend, ambience is nice, food was cold, bad service.

The best food, drinks, and service in all of Toronto.

This is one of my favourite date spots to go to. The food has always been delicious and the servers have been very friendly + quick on the service. The decor is different, a little bit more modern with a homely feel to it. The food is more pricey and the alcohol will be more expensive, but with the quality you'll receive I think it's worth it.

First time going and it was by far the worst dining experience I've had in a really long time. Server was very sassy and not very friendly. The manager however was very nice and accommodating. We ordered the 20oz family steak, hangar steak, risotto, and the deep fried cauliflower. The food was SUPER salty. The cauliflower was on the salty side but was passable, but the hangar steak with the fries and the risotto were extremely salty to the point where none of us could eat it. Furthermore, the hangar steak was to be cooked medium rare, but was closer to a blue steak when we received it and when asked about it the server said there were only two ways to cook that particular type of beef (either the way we got it or well done which comes out extremely chewy. Not sure why they even asked us how we wanted it to be cooked). The 20oz family steak took over an hour to be served after the hangar steak and risotto and sections of the meat were very salty. The green beans that came on the side was also cold as if it was left out for a long time (probably waiting for the steak to be cooked). I spoke with the manager and he took the feedback very well and took the hangar steak and risotto off our bill. Overall, it was a very bad experience, but the manager was understanding. Hope this was just a one time mishap for them.

Went here for brunch with my girlfriends. The food was really wonderful and the service was great. Nice atmosphere. Plus they gave me almond milk when I asked. Huge plus for that as some places don't carry anything but milk.

Wow... The service... The plate.. Perfect. Everything are perfect there.. You will enjoy each second of your moments.

If you are the kind of person who likes listening to Drake, then you will like this place. If you are the kind of person who tells people you 'work on King street' or 'work in finance' in order to impress them, you will also like this place. I appreciated their emphasis on food made from Canadian ingredients, but the pretentiousness of the place (and the relatively exorbitant prices) is something you must be prepared for.

This place feels amazing, the lighting is perfect. The DJ plays good music but too loud to have a conversation. I had the charcuterie board which was excellent then the duck and Lamb. Both were bad. The duck was dry and tasteless and the lamb was basically just fat. The service was great. I really wanted to love this place but because of the quality of the food i can't recommend it. Too bad because it is such a nice spot.

Mushroom main course is great. Great service as well.

This is always one of my favourite destinations. Warm people, great food, and good drink menu. Not an overwhelming amount of options at times and menu changes, which offers enough variance and selection for your date who is often indecisive. Staff are always courteous and accommodating, polite and warm, and attentive.

This place is truly fantastic! The service is impeccable - polite, friendly, attentive - and the food is delicious, fine dining quality but with no pretentious flourish. Possibly the best steak I ve ever had. We had a wonderful evening. Our waiter went above and beyond- wish we got his name to thank him on here. Couldn t recommend more.

Great brunch spot/patio. Food is reasonably priced and good. Thank you for accommodating my iced tea request even though it wasn't on the menu. Will come back and try the rest of the menu. Best of all, no line ups!!

The environment was a little loud tonight, but the food and the service was excellent.

Amazing decor. The place is stunning, the service is perfect. Very good spot for dates, in my opinion. The only reason I do not give 5 stars is because I tried the burger and it was a bit ordinary for the price (22$). Very nice experience overall, I recommend and I ll come back.

I ve dined twice here now, simply consistent and delicious. The attentiveness from the manager doing table touching is always a plus. Last gathering was a dinner for 23+ girls, split into three tables sitting closely together, every table was treated as a small party, and received great service. The pre fix menu for this occasion was spot on, delicious and a great variety for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Cannot get enough of this place, excellent service every time, food and the decor is just as cosy for a great date or casual get together. Try their cocktails and definitely save room for dessert!

Hands down one of my favourite places in Toronto. Tucked away on Wellington just off Spadina, it's amazing. Local meat, local food, fantastic in every way. Whether for weekend brunch, lunch or dinner, Marben has never disappointed.

Brunch - Whatever you're having, try the mimosas or the deluxe caesar.

Dinner - The rotating menu makes it hard to recommend any particular item, but John's Burger is a staple, and you cannot go wrong with splitting a charcuterie board.

Staff's all super friendly, and the big open kitchen means you can watch the magic happen. If you're in the neighbourhood and looking for a great spot, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not going to Marben.

Have been to marvel for brunch and dinner and it never disappoints. Amazing decor and service. They were very accommodating to a large birthday group as well! On the pricey side but completely worth it.

The ambiance is great with candles, dim lighting, etc. Perfect for a date night or intimate evening out. The menus selection is small, which I like - too much to pick from can be overwhelming. And Sunday 1/2 price wine bottles is great.

We came here to celebrate my friend's upcoming marriage. The wait staff were all very friendly and informative.

As a group of 5 ladies we decided to order 1 appetizer (mussels) and 4 mains (mushroom and sunchoke, pork belly, black Angus sirloin, and cod) to share. Every single dish was delicious. I don't even know how to choose a favourite.

We took a peak at the dessert menu and couldn't decide which dessert we wanted most. In the end we got the dessert platter (2 ice cream sandwiches, ginger cake and rhubarb & apple crumble). The saffron vanilla gelato with the brandy tuille was to die for, so good! One of my favourite desserts is anything with apple and the crumble was done so well. I found that the ice cream sandwich was a bit plain in comparison to the other 2 desserts.

It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was full with people lining up waiting for tables so right off the bat the server told us that there is a 2 hour time limit to our dinner. I liked that we had a booth across from the bar and felt like we had our own private area.

Beef Carpaccio is completely indescribable. Only good things to be said about the food, drinks and service! Server Arie paired the food and drink with impeccable hospitality and light humour. Thanks for the great birthday celebration, my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed her time!

Great burger but on the pricier side without much justification except location.

Went there for brunch and ordered the smoked trout crumpet which was an interesting take on the eggs Benny. Really enjoyed it!

Great service, first and foremost!
However, 6 of us shared 2 bottles of $50 wine, each had a beer, shared 3 appetizers and got the 55oz porter steak family style.... our bill was $1000. And that 55oz steak? Was a $30 roast. We requested it cooked rare... we received it cooked medium. If you want to sell a $300 portion of steak , please serve it bone in... I personally do not believe this was a steak at all. It came cut into 12 thin roast beef-like slices. Really disappointed. Would not recommend anyone order this gross misrepresentation and over priced family style serving.

First time, great impression. A bit tricky to find the entrance but seemed obvious once we did.
Hats off to the DJ that apparently make the outstanding bread as well as keeps the place fed with great music.
Service was top notch. A good mix of cocktails that were mostly classics with a little twist.
We had a full meal but this would be a perfect spot to go for just drinks and a bite as they have a lot of snacks, shareables and apps.
