Was surprise to find such canals still exist today. This is a quiet and calm residential area. There's even a Gondola on display at the corner of the road!
Europe up class fair right next to Venice Beach which is exactly opposite of that ! I enjoy the contrast between wealth and homelessness when in the area
A backdrop for many shows set in the area (especially recognizable from "Californication") these canals are connected by a set of sidewalks and bridges. It's a very beautiful walk, and there are all sorts of cool examples of local architecture. Speaking of locals, they are very friendly too. It's not unusual to run into someone just enjoying a beautiful day in Southern California on their porch. A great diversion if you have already hit the beach and boardwalk. Just remember that people live here, so be polite, clean, and please don't trespass onto their property.
The Venice Canals is a wonderful place to go for a walk - to appreciate the beauty of the canals itself as well as the houses all around. It's a toughie when it comes to parking, though!
Nice area to take a walk, alot of bridges over the canals.
Cool historic neighborhood in Venice with cute bungalows.
I have heard of this amazing location. I have been to Venice Beach several times. I never knew about the Canales at Venice Beach. When I found it, I was so beautiful and breath taking. One of my favorites dates.
Charming but nothing more. Some houses deserve the indiscreet eye.
Beautiful place to take a stroll and become inspired with the architecture.
Tucked a little away (inland), from Venice Beach, this place is so beautiful during the sunset. Everything about the scenery is to die for. The boats, the pretty houses lined along the banks of the canals, they all add to the aura. The little bridges across the banks of each of the cutely named canals are also an awe striking addition.
Great place to spend an afternoon especially on a hot day.
Nice shops and cafes.
Awesome house on the canal!! 2 min walk to the venice strip
A must do in Venice Beach. It's great to walk through the Canals and check out the houses.
While not like the Venice in Italy this is a nice walk along the walkways. The houses are charming.
Just had. A BLISS EXPERIENCE! early walk on the beach, picked some shells and salty water part of my body. IT WAS GREAT!!!
Place to go with time to get lost in the streets and admire the houses. Each house has its charm and it is impossible to choose the favorite. The Venice Canals are a must stop for anyone going to Venice or those close to Santa Monica.
I have service work in this area, and it is always a hassle trying to find parking.
Great for pictures and to get to know the history of the area. A little disappointed on the cleanliness of the area.
Due to the Low Tide, I had to move, but it was a different Venice Canal.
The canals are a pleasant area of tranquillity amid the hustle bustle of West Los Angeles. They have historic value, having been built in the 1920 when the coastal towns of Santa Monica and Venice were still mainly holiday resorts. Although little has remained of the architecture of that era, the layout of the place testifies to what Venice looked like back then.
Beautiful area. Fortunately, we were there during a time when there weren't a ton of other tourists, which made it more enjoyable.
Some beautiful houses interspersed with not so good ones. An interesting concept that you either like or you don't.
totally worth a visit! amazing houses and generally a gorgeous area
Interesting place, lots of nice houses around the canals. Sometimes there is a bad smell coming from the canals, making your walk less pleasant.
Dream site, beautiful houses, although artificial environment similar to Venetian secondary channels ... And to live there you have to have a dream bank account
I would love to stroll there for hours with my wife. The peaceful neighborhood definitely helps us to forget all our problems and assuage them is someway. Always remember the place where you have parked the car and enjoy the evening.
Cool place to be walking thru. Chill vibe nice people. Well depending on the day I guess. Hahahaha
Always a fun spot to bring visiting LA tourists and locals alike. It still amazes me that this is so close to the beach, yet has a completely different ambiance !
The water is so dry during this season. But it's still a hidden jem. Not too much tourist around.
Def hidden gem of LA! A must visit but remember this is a neighborhood so be respectful. The canals and homes are a perfect blend that draws so much attention.
Didn't know that Venice in Los Angeles was called like this for this channels!
Nice, but if you visited the real Venice, in Italy, you will find some difference ;-)
Anyway, nice place for a walk. Definitely worth spending here 1 hour for a relaxing walk
Very pretty, a small little gem that diffuses serenity.
We had a great walk through the canal but it felt like a reduced festive light show this year.
Nice place to visit and have a walk! There are a lot of nice houses on the canals.
Amazing place to see & take photos, but the parking is really an issue to think about
If you are already in Venice, it's worth a stop, otherwise it is not worth the trip.
VENICE BEACH CANALS
Regardless your age, your size, your ethnicity, I'm a firmer believer that asventures and travels helps with personal achievements and growth. Adventures bring you closer to your inner self and allow you to challenge the everyday doer way of thinking. Meeting new people and listen to their stories open up your mind and the way how you see the entire World. . . In my opinion, everyone should go on Adventure because at the end of your life you are going to look back at all the pictures, all the videos and remember the people that you met along the road
Blessed for being and becoming such a strong and independent woman that takes risks and value her intellect and other people's lives

This is a nice place to walk through. During this season, October, it isn't as nice because the water gets low and it smells somewhat. You also see the clams rotting. Worth a visit especially in February.
