They're small but pretty canals, they don't seem to be deep. You can see fish, I wish I had a kayak so I could look if there's something more in the water and also for the experience of kayaking in this canals. The houses around the canals are gorgeous. It's a relative short walk and the sidewalk is very narrow.

Is a beautiful place, you feel like if you were in Venice, Italy. The only problem I saw is in some parts of the canals are very dirty.

Wish I made a visit during the day - during the night the charm is there but with no street lights I definitely missed out on the views.

The story of how and why Abbott Kinney built these Canals is worth the google search. This is an amazing little hidden gem of the LA area. Gorgeous homes and landscapes throughout and it s peaceful and quiet here. They have great traditions for holidays like at Easter they have rubber duck races.

Not so far from Venice Beach, you can find canals, little bridges, historic buildings.. Very elegant and peaceful neighborhood!

Parking is a little uncomfortable, but photography is a good place

The Canals are quite the random site to see if you are used to Los Angeles and accustomed to seeing and sharing the beauty of our other canal, the LA River for the reason that they make no sense in comparison to everything else in this city. The Canals are quite beautiful and even a little bit magical as you will find when walking amd weaving in and out what can feel like something of a maze of them. They are also like everything else of substance in California, heavly populated with tourists and all the selfies, group photos, team planks and Asian whatever's so don't plan on having any time to play with yourself... It just ain't gonna happen.

The Venice canals is a unique neighborbood. Wander through walkways along the canals lined with thoughtfully designed houses and gardens with views of waterways. If you're in Venice and have seen enough boardwalk etc this is good place to walk and admire the area.

Great to see a less seedy portion of Venice. Beautiful outdoor living spaces and gardens.

Great place to walk around and relax. It's a nice, peaceful place. Great place to catch the sunset. I love bringing my out of town friends here. Not much parking here in the neighborhoods nearby.

Relax in a quiet, calm, serene environment away from the tourist craziness of the beach by strolling along the Venice Canals. There are multiple ways to enter the pathways along the Canals and none of them can be considered the wrong one but instead provides a new perspective.

It's pretty, yet canals are shallow and I will prefer a pure nature to residential area.

So it may be interesting for one time yet I would rather spend my time on Venice Beach.

Beautiful the quiet place the day I went there was no one I could take many photos I toured all There are beautiful houses and you can see the tranquility there the water has a small lord but it is more beautiful that it serves to be able to cross to come Beach although you come I don't like it very much

Really nice place to take a stroll. Unfortunately the water levels were low during my visit but it's still really picturesque.

Definitely worth a visit, but it didn't excite me that much. An unsuccessful attempt to imitate the canals of Venice. Stagnant water has an unpleasant smell. Drop by if you have time but don't expect anything exciting.

One of the many wonderful reasons to venture to the west side and the perfect sunset stroll, solo, romantic or pet fueled.

Very cool, if you go to venice, CA don't just go to the beach!

Awesome quite area in Los Angeles. Total contrast to the ugly beach promenade which you can leave out on your visit. At one bridge were little cards where you could write down your wishes! Romantic (:

Absolutely beautiful area. Also the only RV parking in the area, and the cops let us stay for a week.

The houses were beautiful, but there was something wrong with an area of water. All the ducks were hanging out on boats to avoid it.

Great fun to walk around and go back in time a bit imagining what the original design of Venice, CA was like. Lots of fun decorations and quirky art around the neighborhood. Note: this is a real neighborhood and people live in the homes along the canals, so please be respectful of their property and privacy when visiting.

This is a lovely place to visit. Not many people know about these canals. Taking a walk around these canals is a must!

Quiet neighborhood, walking a good place to walk. However, to choose a sunny day to cloudy can not make good pictures.

My girlfriend and I take our dog on walks throughout the Venice canals all the time. it's really need to come by and see them in person as a show up in movie scenes all the time and you can say that you saw it in real life. they also do an excellent Christmas lights display that is unlike anything I've ever seen.

It is a place where you can stop for about 30 minutes to an hour for the convenience of Venice Beach.
