Pretty nice venue, food was good and drinks were very pricey as to be expected. Service was good and some waiters were extra friendly which was very nice. My name was spelt wrong on the placecard though!

The staff had no customer service, we had to pay 12.50 for car parking disgusting when you add that to the cost of the room. The pillow cases were dirty, the staff in the restaurant were not aware of the fact we waited for 15mins for them to clear our main course, or ask if we wanted another drink. We also waited 25minutes before we were asked if we wanted a dessert. I would not recommend this hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel. Great position, modern rooms. We had a lovely large room, but a very small tiny bathroom! Best to check if that is important to you. Some rooms are outside, not so good in bad weather. The hotel More

Actually good hotel and friendly staff. Breakfast very balanced. Unfortunately, the waste was disposed of directly in front of the room at 6 o'clock in the morning. Nevertheless, the hotel can be recommended because it is comfortable and the food right next to it is very good.

We stayed one night on this lovely hotel on our UK road trip.

The rooms ware small but cosy and functional. The beds small as all English beds and a little to soft for my taste.
And there was no air conditioning.

The bathroom was very small and not so clean, we really missed a shelve to store our stuff.

The hotel is dated. The suite my friends stayed in was beatiful but the junior room I was in was tired and cramped feeling. The rooms were boiling hot too. Weirdly, staff acted as if they were doing us a big favour by giving us room service, despite having told us it was available on the day. Parking also shockingly expensive!

They are bad with details I'm afraid.

I recently stayed here for work and as I was working a night shift and not getting back to the room to sleep until 5AM. I explained this when I checked in and asked about late check out so I could get a few more hours rest.

A small thing perhaps, but very frustrating and it shows a real lack of care and attention to detail, especially when the hotel seemed nearly empty.

I have stayed here a couple of times and the hotel is lovely with big rooms. The food is really good. I fing the staff seem stressed constantly and i don't know if it is due to staffing levels or something else but generally you get good service

Stayed here for a few nights mid week. The beds are comfortable and the location is fantastic. It is very easy to get into the centre of Guildford, about a 5 minute walk. Breakfast is straight forward and tasted fine, full English or continental options. Usual hotel choices.

The room itself is small, there are no drawers for your clothes and once you have set your luggage out there is very little room left to actually move around the room. Bathroom was clean but, again, small. The water pressure is lacking so don't expect a power shower.

The staff were very friendly and tried to be as helpful as possible when asked for anything. The bar in the hotel recently won an award and it's easy to see why!

Overall, I would stay here again because of the location and the great service, but I'm sure you could find a better room locally for a similar price.

Staff were using extremely foul language in ear shot complaining about other colleagues. The event so called manager didn't care and seemed to think she knew what she was talking about. Just disgusting behaviour from staff who are suppose to be putting customers first and being professional except they failed in all areas. Disgraceful. Not even worth a star!

I attended a course organised via my work. I found the hotel to have a high standard of cleanliness. We were provided lunch which was a hot and cold buffet which was of a high quality. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I stay in this hotel every week for work and it has improved dramatically over the last few months. There's a new head chef and the food is much better with a lot more choice and little tweaks to the bedrooms make staying much more comfortable. Some of the rooms in the old section are on the small side. The staff are very friendly and polite and breakfast is good. Great location for the town centre.

Average hotel. Although be warned, the hotel runs a very expensive pay and display car park. It is managed by another external company, so they have no discretion on letting guests park at more reasonable rates. Total rip off. Seriously consider staying elsewhere.

Nice enough hotel but wildly expensive car park, and no discount for customers. There are other car parks nearby but that isn't the point, it's about looking after your customers and this reflects badly on the management that they think this is ok.

not like a premier inn.
Lots of small corridors to get to the rooms, seems like an old building with a bit of character.
had a single room as I was on business, it was small but enough room. very little airflow and no air conditioning so if its hot you will be hot..
breakfast is served to you and it took them quite some time to bring my english breakfast to me

Me and my wife stayed at the Madeleine hotel on the 2nd October 2015. It was a surprise get away after my wife being non stop with our 8 month old baby since he was born and she needed some must have rest and relaxation with no noise after all it was also her birthday. After speaking to a member of staff about what I was intending to do he said not to worry and leave it with him. On arrival we were given our keys and went up to our room, at this point it was going to be a make or break as my wife Is very fussy when it comes to noise and the main reason for coming was to get away from all of that hassle. We opened the door to find a very well presented double bed with all the things you would expect to find in a 4* hotel. The room was spotless and looked like it had just be refurbished. They had even provided a bottle of on the house bubbly which I thought was very generous. There was no noise during our stay apart from people opening doors in the morning for checkout which you would find in any hotel. My wife loves it and now has told me she expects to do it again once a month! Would I recommend it.... YES!
