I spent four weeks at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital after brain surgery in 2014. The warmth and gentle supportive care could be felt in every aspect of the facility from the administrative staff, security staff, cafeteria and obviously most especially from the therapists and doctors and nurses. I can still feel that when I take the time. I'm very grateful to everyone there for making what could have been the worst time in my life a little less awful. I recommend Magee to everyone I know. I feel blessed that I was sent there.

About 5-6 years ago I spent months at Magee with my fiance who was paralyzed in a diving accident. The entire staff went above and beyond with his care not to mention the time they took with me helping me to get through this whole process. They cried with you, they hugged you and felt every bit of your pain. We were never alone. We learned so much from their caring staff. I cant begin to thank these people enough. It truly hurts to see some of the negative feed back that was left for here. This staff is highly trained to deal with traumatic injuries. We should all be grateful that theres such a wonderful place as Magee to take our loved ones to. I often say that the next chance I get to come to Philly that my first stop would be to Magee. Thank you Magee for all you did for Russ and our family and the many other people you help.

Send patients to moss or good shepherd this place is horrible with very high turn over rate.
They don't care for the employees, or patients they only care for ratings and pocketing money. Horrible horrible place

My husband has been in Magee since late December 2019 and the RNs, Technicians, Physical and Occupational, Chaplain, Social Worker, Receptionists and even some of the Cafeteria workers have been AMAZING! I heard all great things about Magee and was so excite to get him in there just based on reviews but I have to say I have been blessed with their personal care. Since day 1 he has shown improvement and while he personally resists at times they never place judgement on him but rather work with him more to show him that HE MATTERS! I was so Impressed that since the beginning of his stay they always Persia lily addressed him as with any questions and I know after 21 years that this made him feel just as important as he felt about himself before his stroke. He is really hard to deal
With at times but nevertheless they always treat him the same, with love and care and have taught him to smile again and have hope! I see the change I him mentally and mostly emotionally. He is more receptive to laughter despite his normal scowl. He wants to eat now and want to talk and mostly want to walk again! As a family we were always confident he d recover, although we l ew it would be slowly, we were still excited to see some of him comeback to us. Since he s been here I have seen bits of him coming back everyday. They never stop teaching him to believe in himself and fight for his recovery. Magee s staff fights for him as well and reassures him daily that he can do things again and that he IS getting better. Thank you Magee! I see his shine peaking through each day!

I was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) and sent to Magee for inpatient rehab. When I was at Jefferson hospital and asked whether I would prefer to stay at Jefferson or go to Magee, most of the Jefferson staff was cagey when asked what the difference was. I soon found out from a PT and a CNA that Magee was much nicer with a better facility, better alternative therapy (art therapy, music therapy, horticulture therapy, rec therapy), private rooms, better food, etc. staying at Jefferson rehab would likely mean a shared room.

The Magee experience was beyond wonderful. I cannot imagine a better place to heal or better people to help me heal. My core team was an amazing group of human beings my OT Shelby, PT Ali, music therapy with John, art therapy with Julie, almost all of the nurses and CNA s were extremely thoughtful, pleasant, compassionate, and caring. The food was actually pretty decent, think nice college cafeteria food.

The rooms are recently renovated although I highly recommend trying to get on the second floor if you care about hdmi ports on the TV for other devices i.e. roku, video games, etc. if you are on a floor without functioning hdmi ports, the concierge Robin is an absolutely wonderful person who will hook you up with a tv that has what you need. The concierge service is always so willing and able to get you the things you need and were so helpful and friendly.

All in all it was a life changing experience that leaves me a Magee devotee. I plan on volunteering as much as possible there once I recover. As soon as I landed there, the nightmare I was living had ended. Magee is magic if you open your heart to it.

I found the rehab services good but front desk staff is incompetent and rules are too rigid. When they gave me a schedule, I explained that I already had appointments with doctors or for tests at some of the times. In spite of telling them this, they counted me as a no show. Right now, I have a cold or flu and had to cancel. Even though I gave plenty of notice, they counted it against me. (Do they really want someone to come in with a cold or flu so others could catch it?) Today, I missed a call from the PT, "B," I was seeing. When I called back, front desk staff told me I'd been dropped, that the reason for my cancelations didn't matter, 3 no shows or cancelations and you're dropped. I got upset (didn't use any foul language) but did raise my voice, and "J" hung up on me. The PT did not call me back.
