Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District Reviews

It's a sewage plant and I suspect most people don't visit. We needed to visit to dump our RV waste tank and most other places are currently closed for the winter season. They were very accommodating and helpful. A really awesome guy named Nathan let us in at the gate, provided instruction and helped us out so much. It's nice not to have to think about what happens to waste and these guys make it possible for everyone to never have to think about where and how this happens - except for when you have to visit and then they're really great and helpful. Wish other places would take a customer service queue from them. Looks like in non-covid times they give tours too - could be fun.

This place smelled pretty bad, other than that it seemed pretty good.

At this place, all the sewage from the Madison area is treated and the clean water is sent to a nearby river while other byproducts like fertilizer is produced. I visited here during my Mandela Washington fellowship in Madison Wisconsin
