I was in this very same position short while ago. I remember how sad and disgusted I was that I had to go out defend myself....legally. I searched online as you are perhaps doing now, read some reviews and settled on an attorney after doing some research. I hoped that I had made an educated decision.

Avoid Joshua Newville at all costs. He offered 30% to work on a retaliation case and after a mediation wherein he failed to get an offer asked for 38%. He failed to help my case in any way. When I asked about the 30% we agreed to he denied ever offering anything in that ball park. Next he drops my case like a hot potato without giving any reason. Shady business with shady lawyers. Steer clear or your time will be wasted with Madia Law.

I contacted Madia Law LLC sometime in early May I believe of this year (2020). I was fired from a company that I worked for going on about 3yrs or so. The timing was terrible since the governor announced the statewide quarantine and school shutdown the following week . I was unable to collect unemployment due to the termination and with four children at home full time ages 9,11,13, and 14 the grocery bill was higher than my mortgage. Not to mention my wife being pregnant with our 5th child. My wife found Madia Law through a google search and brought it to my attention suggesting I should call and at least find out if I had a case or not. I was pretty angry and financially stressed out at this point since I was already falling behind on mortgage and with my wife pregnant the medical bills were starting to come in. I work in construction which is a feast and famine industry and needless to say this coronavirus wasn't helping with the job search so I knew once my kid's college savings was gone, we were in trouble. I was a little hesitant about reaching out to this law firm since the year up to this point had been nothing but bad news. After going on their website and reading about what it is they can actually do for me, I realized that not only were my rights as a worker ignored in my termination but state laws were broken as well.
Since I had never done this before, I had a lot of questions. I didn't have much left financially and the few times I've needed a lawyer in the past, have been expensive to say the least. Each person I spoke with at Madia Law was very professional as well as informative. I could tell they had worked with each other for a good length of time which made it easier for Claudia (Intake paperwork) to give me an overall rundown of the general process and how Ashwin normally handles things. She was very friendly, as well as professional about returning phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
Ashwin (Lawyer) went over and beyond my expectations in what I was hoping to gain from this. The first time I spoke with him was the day after I did the intake with Claudia and I could tell that he had taken the time to study and understand what my concerns were. Claudia took the edge off my anxiety the day before and after getting off the phone with Ashwin I was actually pretty confident that I would be compensated for loss time and be able to get caught up and maybe replenish both savings accts. He called me and emailed me about every letter mailed and received keeping me informed of every aspect in the case. After many letters and investigations by him and his colleagues, he called me in early Nov. with the final#. It was 5X the original number that I told him I was hoping to receive when I first spoke with him. My loss time was covered and I had extra to replenish both my savings and my kids' college fund.
Finally, Sara. She helped me with all the final settlement paperwork. She was a complete sweetheart and when I told her about the baby on the way she assured me that I would receive the money close to the due date. Well I received the checks today(12/7) and I am writing this review from the hospital whooo hooooo.

Called on 3/4/2020 to schedule a time for an initial consultation. Claudia told me that the initial consult is with her, and after the consult she may forward the information to an attorney for them to look it over. Claudia is not an attorney (by her admission). After reading the reviews I wanted to talk to an attorney about my case, but was unable to do so. Claudia was polite and pleasant, just unable to meet my needs. I have no knowledge of the work of the office as I was unable to talk to an attorney.

Cody was great!! Personable, fun to talk to (despite what we were talking about...), quick to turn off the meter while we chatted personally (super important thing for me!!). Gave good advice, led me in the right direction. I felt in control the whole time. Would use her again. Her prices have got to be going up soon with as good as she is.

Competence, I demand competence. Ashwin and Zane digested all the elements of my case, a complex case with a plethora of moving parts yet distilled it down to its essence. Ashwin offered me several options yet, in the end, did what was in MY best interest a trial. First and most importantly, he dispatched an entangled judge then he learned what was important to the folks in my region.

Tenacity, I want tenacity. We prepared for trial, not by a simple rehash of events but a thorough preparation for all possible scenarios. By the time of trial Ashwin made us all Marines.

Passion, I like passion. At trial, Ashwin was unflappable and calmly impeached witness after witness. Ashwin had to convince twelve jurors while the defense only needed to convince one. He spoke to the jury. He connected with the jury. He alone treated the jury as a group of his peers. Ashwin and Zane proved indignation and arrogance were not a defense and it was done.

Received call saying I couldn't be helped. Asked why and was hung up on. Wrote a review saying what happened and received a call from Madia who apologized, but ultimately didn't help me as he was the best man at my attorneys wedding who I was in the process of firing. Apparently separating from friendship and business isn't his specialty... and I'd prefer to have an attorney who recognizes the conflict that arises out of these situations. Not one who embraces them.

My case started with a late night email of desperation to the firm. To my surprise I awoke to an email response the following morning empathizing with my situation and requesting a time to talk.
