Very nice I just don't prefer a lot in my Mac and cheese

Never dissapointed!! Always Excellent Food & Service!!

First time there since it was a ground round. Server was great even though we confused her but it was our fault. Couldn't have had a better one. Manager came over and sat with us which made for an even more enjoyable night out. All will definitely be back and recomend.

Food was amazing for our first time there! Service was great! My new go to is definitely the Cajun Shrimp and Crab Meat Mac n Cheese!

I went to Mad Macs for the first time on Wednesday when me and my fiance had a night without our 3 year old. There were tvs everywhere and live music by the bar. The food was absolutely amazing. Amy was such a darling waitress and helped me order because I was unsure. The honey Chipotle wings were so delicious with the cowboy ranch.
2 nights later and both of us want to go back and bring our son. He would be entertained and love it as well. New family gem for sure!!!

Is Quizzo on Tuesdays now, I thought it was Thursday? Such a fun time at Quizzo, for "Geeks that order drinks," lol!

They don't season the water for the pasta. They do not believe in salt when cooking. As a result, I tend to bring my own seasoning, or only eat a small portion knowing I will have to season it later. Also, every time, every single time I order the lobster mac and cheese, the portion is significantly smaller than orders for other macs. Some of you may say, well it's lobster. Fine. The lobster content isn't the problem. There is literally less macaroni. Pasta is cheap and the plate is already marked up to account for the seafood. Stop being stingy.

Mediocre food. Service was awful. Our waiter had maybe 4 tables but was so far in the weeds that we were basically forgotten about. Don t waste your time.

Overall I would describe as not bad or not my first choice .
Take-out and delivery service are TERRIBLE. Whenever I have ordered food for pickup it is always wrong, cold, and/or a way smaller portion than what you get for dine-in. Delivery is usually even worse than picking it up myself. At least when I pick it up myself I can check the order for mistakes and have them correct it on the spot.

That said, dine-in experience is not bad. Their food is not bad when it s fresh from the kitchen, and depending on the server you get your experience there should be fine too. I find the service is better on trivia nights or nights when it s busy than nights when it s extremely empty. This is the opposite of how a usual restaurant should function! I shouldn t have to wait longer when there are less people being served.

More than Mac and Cheese but that's not to say you shouldn't get some of there deliciously unique variations of the classic dish.

2nd time there, because coworkers like the cheesesteak. Tried most everything on the menu and decided "Whole lot of hoopla about nothing"

Prompt and cheerful service. Food was great and large portion, especially their Mac n cheese pans! Bar side can get pretty loud, but dining room side is available and certainly better dining atmosphere. We will return again

Great atmosphere and good appetizers makes it fun to meet friends for a drink or a quick bite.

Went to this place on Thursday when they had half off burgers. Their fries were excellent and the El Jefe burger was amazing. Staff was also really friendly.

Problems:
1. Not named after Mel Gibson film OR fury road
2. Service is abysmal. Almost doesn't exist.
3. Delivered items sometimes moldy.
4. Formerly had decent kangaroo burger. No longer.
5. Mac and cheese should not be a menu theme.

The reviews mention the poor service... I didn't believe them.
I do now.
I don't expect to be served instantly, but I do expect my presence to be acknowledged.
She ignored me for several minutes.
So we finished our drinks and left.
If you want great service and great food, go to Two Stones Pub, just down the road.

My girlfriend has been telling me about this place for quite a while and I can see why. The food was excellent and that was matched by the service. The owner came over and talked to us multiple times, even showing us pics of new dishes. Would definitely drive out here again.

Our large group of hikers was comfortably seated around a u-shaped table. Our very pleasant waitperson worked quickly to take our orders and keep things correct. We enjoyed salads, sandwiches and mac&cheese of various varieties. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Good beer selection, excellent French fries.

The macaroni and cheese and adult milkshakes... Really good!

It is a bar with a dining room. We both had Mac and cheese and it was really good. Service was slow because they didn't have enough staff on. I tried the fried brownies and did not like them the brownie did not taste that good. My husband got the lemon blueberry cheesecake and said it was dry.

Cant say enough good things about this place from the food to the service to the AMAZING S'mores milkshake. Was impressed by knowledge and friendliness of staff and for how quickly our food came out. Did I mention the boozy milkshake cuz honestly that's about all I remember AA+

Usually acceptable service, worst service ever in near area and the place was slow! Server missed out on another round of drinks and dessert, would have easily been a hundred dollar bill.

Good cheap food! Unfortunately they removed my favorite burger, the Roo burger.

We went bc they had live music. We sat in the bar area. Plenty of TVs with games on. Our server was good. Bar food is usually better than it was this night; the cheesesteak rolls were too greasy. The wings were good. The singer was the best thing that night, 7/13.

Eat here at least once you wont be disappointed if you find something you like

I was pleasantly surprised. I went on a Friday night around 10 pm. They weren't a counter service restaurant. They were a sit down restaurant with a bar and a good band. We got the Popeye Mac and Cheese and it was delicious. Best part was the baked cheese top with bread crumbs.
The service we had wasn't phenomenal but we were on the bar side and in a rush so I don't dock them for being a little inattentive. Once they came to our table, it all worked out well

Service is always great here. The bar is pretty lively and the restuarant side is quieter. Food is great. Wings with the secret sauce, nachos, Mac and cheese are all wonderful options.
The only con I can think of is that the bar can sometimes be too noisy, but that's just me.

It wasn't somewhere I would have chosen personally, I'm an "out of towner", but had a wonderful evening.
Good family/sports bar atmosphere with "screens".
Good generous portions of delicious food. Fair selection of beers too.
Wouldn't hesitate to return next time in Newark.

SUPERB service from Sally! Wings and appetizers were fantastic. Unbelievably didn't have any mac to rate it, but have heard it's fantastic.

I don't think I've ever had anything I didn't love from here. The food is always on point.

I was pretty disappointed in our whole experience at Mad Macs. We went at 5 on Sunday night, despite having a two year old and a five year old with us, they still asked if we would like to sit at the bar, or sit in the dining room... (?) the bar was pretty full and loud at this time and the live music was just not good, but we were one of two tables of people in the dining room, it took about 20 minutes to get drinks (of water) and 45 for our food to come out. My husband said his Buffalo Mac was way too sweet, and my lobster Mac and cheese was also way too sweet. I say lobster because while it is marked up to $18 as a lobster dish, it is very obviously mini lobster or, you guessed it, CRAYFISH, crawdads, crawfish, whatever you call them... it ain t lobster. Being from Maine, and also having eyes, the difference is clear. Would not order that again, even if we considered going back. The thin mint adult milkshake was awesome, despite probably not actually having any alcohol in it whatsoever. When it was all said and done, we paid $73 for two kids meals, two adult beverages, and two too sweet Mac and cheese dishes, one of them containing some podunk river seafood. I will pick a better place for our anniversary next year.

The hot dog with chili is fantastic. Some curry or other spice in the chili makes it. No skinny dog here loaded and the bread is somewhere between a bun and a loaf of French bread. Whole range of beers from cheap to craft. Nice open outside area to sit and drink safely. Dan gave great service ask for Dan the man! I saw the staff wipe every seat down and every table once someone left. So they are really taking the COV seriously.

Not an inexpensive place, but for delicious speciality food, it was worth every one of my cents. Live music Friday nights, and a really fun specialty drinks menu.

Like the food. The staff is awesome. We watched fireworks from parking lot.

This is not a family place. We just went at 3 pm on a Monday and they had a sign to seat yourself where we did. Then waited 10 minutes while the bartender/servers kept looking at us and would visit only the bar and the only other table. As a bartender and server myself I understand how difficult the job can be. This however should not have been difficult. I would of love to rate the food, but we weren't given the chance to.

Used a credit card i rarely use, next day it was used for a fraudulent Ebay purchase. Pay cash if you go, they are theives!

Lives up to all the hoopla. Just amazing Mac and cheese. I loved it because they actually have gluten free options. Just incredibly awesome staff. Limited parking. But very worth it!

The Short Rib Egg Rolls are perfection. I'm craving them now just thinking about them. Of course they are known for their Mac and Cheese but I recommend exploring the rest of the menu too, you won't be disappointed.

Great food, although service is painfully slow. Only one or two servers, and we were never really checked up on. We had to drag the server away from someone they were chatting up for 5 minutes just to get our check.

Been there twice during hockey tournaments, great food both times! Good service as well

Came for lunch and the food was great. Jerk wings were delicious. Service from both bartenders was great. I would definitely recommend Mad Macs.

I moved here from CT, it was my BF birthday so this was one of the places I haven't been to yet is Mad Macs and mac n cheese is my fav. I asked around some gave good talk about it some didn't. So you have to try out places yourself before you judge. I went sat ordered an appetizer loaded potato bites, they looked so good when brought to the table, my family and I started eating and the middle was completely frozen fried on the outside but the middle well... Not a good start for the first time being in this place. Then dinner came burger and fries can't go wrong with that, chicken tacos another can't go wrong, my meal lobster mac n cheese, the mac and cheese had no taste plain but the lobster was a nice size bites and my temperature of it was warm like it had been sitting (room temp). Not a very happy customer. I don't think I will return. Not a good first impression.

Took my kids there for dinner on our way home from a trip since they love Mac and cheese. We were seated in the back by the kitchen and wait station, which was good because the bar area was packed and really loud due to the Eagles game being on.
We ordered drinks and an appetizer to start and we ordered our meals when we got our drinks. The appetizer we had was good and came out in a decent amount of time.
The meals took 45+ minutes to come out after we finished our appetizer. Others that were seated after we finished our appetizer received their food way before my two younger ones received their food. The delay seemed to be because the kitchen staff was watching the game on the TV outside of the kitchen.
When I finally received my food and my son received his, there was a large difference in the portions. I brought it up to the waitress and she said they were the same size, even though the pan they came in were different sizes. She went to get the manager, who came over with an attitude, and she said okay, what's the problem over here" like I was some unruly person causing trouble. The explanation was that the difference in protein portions was the cause of the difference in sizes and that all dishes have 2 cups of Mac and cheese in them. Even though I understand there could be some differences in portions due to different meats being added, it didn't seem to justify such a large difference. So because of the poor attitude of the manager and the price for the portion I received, I asked them to take it back and off my bill.
I was really looking forward to trying their Mac and cheese, but after such a bad experience from the manager, I won't be back. The server was nice and kept a good attitude through the situation, not treating me any differently and I thank her for that.

If you like uneven service and your food order given to someone else, you'll love Mad Macs

Great wings, good prices and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend their pretzels for an appetizer!!!! The staff is very nice, and the service is fast. No waiting 20 minutes just to get your drinks! There are at least a dozen TVs there with a variety of games on, so no matter who your team is, or which sport you follow, chances are, it will be on! I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I'll be back very soon.

Menu has been chopped down and several good items have been removed. Food prices have rose greatly. The appetizers are pre made and aren't large enough for the money your paying. The Buffalo chicken dip was roughly two table spoons. My chicken on waffles came out and the waffles were so old and unfit to eat, birds wouldn't eat them. Might be a good watering hole but I would skip the meal.

The kind of menu that just one visit can't do it justice. Great appetizers, fantastic burgers, and I can't quite decide on a good enough superlative for the Mac and cheese dishes. If you're anywhere close, stop in. Oh, be sure to check out the restrooms, too. This is a one of a kind place!

Mad Macs has a very fun environment with entertainment provided regularly. The food is great and the staff is friendly and professional. If you are looking to have a good time in the Newark area it is definitely a place to stop into and check out. If you enjoy macaroni and cheese it is a must to stop in, as the varieties will blow your mind!

Food was pretty good. Service on the other hand wasn't the best. Our original waitress visited our table once when we first sat down than again when left. I'm not sure if she's new to it or not.

I love it. This was one of the first places I ate in town and I love recommending it. If you can, sit at the bar. The staff is fun and can recommend good food and beer. The crowd is friendly and will gladly buy you a beer if you re new in town. It s got a great vibe - part Cheers, part local mainstay.

Awesome place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. Bartenders are super friendly and it's nice feeling welcomed when you just moved to Delaware.

Never in my entire life have I felt a deeper anger then when I was seated at this restaurant for 25 minutes and no one came to the tables to take even a water order. I went up to the hostess stand to tell them that we were leaving but again no one was there. I then went outside to place a phone call to the restaurant to let them know that we had left and received only an answering machine. It was at this time that I called again and finally spoke to someone who referred me to the manager at this point the manager offered me a $25 gift card to which I told them please do not bother this was my first and last visit to Mad Macs.
