REMI has been managing my rental for almost 3yrs n...

REMI has been managing my rental for almost 3yrs now. Payments are smooth and on time, semi-annual inspection results are provided, and they make sure to get authorization before completing any repairs exceeding the set cost limit by the owner. Potential tenants should take into consideration that owners put their trust and confidence knowing that their properties will be maintained according to a high standard. REMI does just that.

Look at the renter reviews here is one I found and my experience was IDENTICAL! 20 years of renting across 6 states and REMI is by far the WORST EVER rental company. RENT ELSEWHERE!!!!!

Horrible company. These positive reviews I'm sure are fake. They screwed us out of most of our deposit by hiring a cleaning company that lied about everything they had to clean. They charged us for things that were there (we left air filters they said we didn't, they were still in packaging!!). Unfortunately we are renting another unit through them that came with cockroaches, and it took them two weeks to get a pest control service to even contact us! (We paid Orkin out of pocket). The last place had termites. It took them two weeks to treat the place and never did any repairs we submitted. Communication is a joke. They did the inspection after we left so basically they could screw us out of our money. I only wish I had taken pictures of what I cleaned before I left so they couldn't have claimed they had to clean everything again.

Any of the positive reviews for this company are lies! At least 1 positive review is from an actual employee (S. Webster). Read the negative reviews, those tell the real truth.

By far the most unprofessional rude individuals I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They are quick to threaten and sue their tenets rather then try to work with them. Do youselves a favor and don't rent from them and if you already do get out and find more professional realters.

We just rented our home a few months ago and I was incredibly hesitant due to the large number of negative reviews about the management company. The top concern seemed to be with the management team taking the security deposit for previous damage not caused by the current tenants. However, this concern was put to ease when they informed me that within 10 days of moving in they perform a walk through and take pictures of the home to later compare. My walk through was 2 hours of thorough imaging. I will say it can be difficult to get someone on the line when you attempt to call the office which is a little irritating but they seem to call back within 24 hours, luckily none of our issues were so dire that we needed immediate assistance. But I will update my review as time goes on, for now, it seems to be better than the reviews lead you to believe

We looked at two rental properties with this company the first house we looked at still had hurricane damage in two of the rooms the second property looked really creepy like it was meant to keep someone in. Every door in or out of the house had a different key and you could only use the key to lock or unlock the door several of the frames looked like the door had been kicked open from the inside the door to the attic had two different locks on it and when we opened it it had children's toys in there and the frame had looked like it got kicked open from the inside. As we were leaving they sent someone else over to look at the house also so we had to deal with other people who wanted to rent the house which was a little strange, you would think they would make sure no one was there before they sent someone else over. All of our experiences with this company have been bad I really don't recommend them.

Out of all the rental companies I have leased with...

Out of all the rental companies I have leased with over 20 years and multiple states, this is by far the worst. The house we rented came with a bit of damage that we were told would be fixed. It took several phone calls and a few months for them to send someone out to half way fix things. They have very little concern for their renters once the lease is signed. DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

I have been doing business with REM for over 10 years. They have helped me manage a rental. Overall a good experience. These negative reviews I am sure are from tenants that have lost funds due to not taking care of the home. If you damage the property you don't get a deposit back its that simple. House is currently up for sale and they have been very helpful getting service providers in the home in my absence, since we are several hours away.

It s our first PCS order and just right after Florence so base housing wasn t an option and rental houses are getting fewer so we decided to go with REMI. Our mistake is that we didn t looked up about this company and read the reviews. The house that we got had so much work orders, all fencing was broken and was never fixed til we moved out after a year. No working washer even though the lease says it does work. Fireplace didn t work and never got fixed also. If you decided to go with this company do your self a favor and document everything with pictures and do a very thorough walk through. Or better yet just go with another rental company. It s not fair that most their customers are military families.

Be very careful renting from this company. Just some advice from my lawyer to anyone thinking about renting from this company - Anything they say they are going to do make sure to get it in writing or record the phone call, do not let them argue with you or make excuses as to why they cannot provide it to you in writing or email! Before you move into your new place, do a video walk through with your phone, take your time in each room and make sure it is well lit and make sure to get a recording of the condition of the outside of the building too and upload it to YouTube (because the file will be too large to email and this will give it a time stamp), copy that link, and email it to them that same day so they cannot argue with you about the day it was recorded. They will attempt to make you responsible for previous damage (such as a hole in the wall from a nail for a picture frame, or if it is patched they will note wall discoloration, or even broken or bent blinds) and they will take it out of your deposit. If you can rent from any other company please do it!!!

I cannot tell you how amazing this company has been since I wanted to use a property manager to rent my house in New Bern. They screened potential tenants to a degree in which I could have never imagined. They rented my property, after my approval, to the some amazing tenants. They were extremly responsive during Hurricaine Florence and reported to me that my house was fine as soon as they were able to get out! I have rented houses for years and have used several property managers but Shawna is by far the best person I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with during the process! I noticed that all the negative reviews are from tenants (maybe disgruntled) for not following the lease agreement so I knew my property was in good hands as soon as I decided to use them as a property manager. I would highly recommend this company to any landlord or tenant that follows the rental agreement.

I rented through this place for 2 years and had a very bad experience through the entire time. All employees are unprofessional and rude. They cheated me out of around $1,600 total and I used the cleaning companies that they worked with! They made me pay for repairs that did not need to be done, they were just their recommendations. I strongly urge you to try to speak to someone that is currently renting from them and ask their opinion! Good luck getting anything fixed, it feels as if they are only interested in working for themselves and the owner. You will feel like the abused and they are good at working you over. They know that you will probably not bring them to small claims court because they get people for a couple 100 dollars at a time. MARINES STAY AWAY!!! FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO RENT FROM!!!

I got kicked out for an illegal occupant who was never there and now months later my friend is getting the same thing because he was holding some of my things while i moved to the barracks not only that but they have always been rude. I have never spoken to someone who doesnt seem to be menstruating.

After a really bad experience with another local Rental company I have to say That Real Estate Management Inc. Has been a breath of fresh air to deal with as a property owner. I appreciate how organized and informative they are with my property and rental payments are always sent around the same time each month. I am always able to get a hold of someone during business hours and calls or emails are always returned promptly. Shawn and Danielle are very easy to work with and are very helpful which I appreciate greatly since I am not in the same state as my home it is a comfort to know that my home and my tenants are in good hands.

They will take everything they can get even and screw toy over. i saw a few bad reviews before renting through them and didn t think much of it but i wish i would have! They couldn t care less if you are military or has special circumstances. I rather pay double the rent and go through someone else then go through this company.

Staff is never in the office, no one answers the phone. I was stuck outside in 90 degree weather for half an hour. Staff is very rude

Would like to update, 9 months later still HORRIBLE customer service skills, Danielle and Shawna Hardy have no communication skill with each other or tenants. Took off work for a maintenance request, waited all day. No body called me with updates, no one contacted the maintenance man with my information and I missed a day of work for nothing.
I thank god I am moving because there people continue to be rude, disappointing and inconsiderate.
DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! If 0 stars was an option I would give them that

They prey on military members and overcharge every maintenance fee. During move out they do 3 separate inspections and each has to be done with their employees/landlord. All the while you can only use their suggested cleaners/repairman. They charged over 1200 in carpet cleaning and repair. All in all a terrible experience, do not do business with them, especially military members.

Real Estate Management has been managing two of my properties in Havelock, NC for over 16 years. I suspect that the bad reviews come from tenants who did not pay their rent on time, or left the property in shambles. REM vets the prospective tenants and I approve. I do not want to speak with the tenants. Just please take care of the properties when you rent, and pay on time. Just remember, according to state law, you cannot use your deposit for your last month's rent. Thanks REM for doing a great job and putting up with the bad tenants. I appreciate the ones that take care of my property and pay their rent on time.

Worst experience ever. The lady didn't seem to know what she was talking about & was really disrespectful towards me.The mangers needs to re consider the employees they hire. I have the conversation on the phone recorded & have proof of the lady cursing and being rude to me. Not once was I disrespectful and I have never been treated this way. A heads up to anyone who is considering renting from them. Record everything they say and take tons of pictures. If the bad reviews are accurate, we must have been the luckiest people around bc REMI during our stay in Havelock was amazing(moved in 2 weeks before Florence)! All rentals come with some form of issues....hence the rental. Want something perfect...buy and perfect.
However, even with the slightest issues, REMI communicated, fixed and adjusted for our rental.
Despite all of the hardships that the hurricane brought, REMI stayed in constant commincation with their renters and repaired the hurricane damage as quickly as possible.
If Havelock becomes my home again, def reaching out to REMI!

I've rented through them for 2yrs and they make it easy to pay online and submit maintenance requests online. They respond fast and make sure the problem is fixed. I also got most of my deposit back and only had a few items reasonably deducted that I left needing to be completed. If you take care of the property the way it should be, you will have no problems getting your deposit back.

DONT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!! We terminated our lease and said we'd get our deposit back. When we did, they took out $800!! And it wasn't even for anything we did. They took it out for saying there was weed wakcking damage, holes in the walls (we covered up the ones we made from hanging things), they ripped up bushes that were there when we got there, charged us for mowing the lawn when we mowed it the day before we left, for a piece of siding missing on the garage which was missing when we moved in, and a whole bunch more bull! Terrible company. They won't return any of our calls.

I was skeptical about renting through this company...

I was skeptical about renting through this company because of all the negative reviews I had read, but I found a listing on a house I really wanted, so I gave it a shot. I was actually deployed and on a time crunch to find a home before I returned when I signed my lease with Real Estate Management. They worked with me even from a far, answered all my questions and even sent pictures of specific things in the house I wanted to see, since I could not do a walk through. As a tenant, I had a couple of bigger components on my house go out, including my hot water heater. This happened on a Sunday and their response time was nothing short of great. I was able to speak to someone right away and first thing Monday morning, I was already receiving my new heater. From beginning to end, I really have nothing but good things to say about the staff! I was still careful when it came to moving out though, just because I know that was what most people had complained about. So I got my check list and covered all the requirements before my final inspection. And I have got to tell you, if you do what they ask, it's all really simple. I don't know where people seem to run into trouble, because I had no issue getting back my entire security deposit, and even some rent that I had over paid. I didn't even have to remind the staff of the extra payment, because they had it on record. So overall, I'm very pleased with my experience doing business with this company and if I still lived in Havelock, I would definitely continue rent with them. Don't be fooled by the crappy reviews, if you are a good tenant, you won't run into any issues!

If you PCS and you think you have done everything to get your deposit back! You will not! They will find things to get your money! Even for just a simple bulb! We used REMI as our property managers for over 5 years, they were amazing. Efficient, professional, made owning a home from across the country as stress free as that can be! I had great relationships with all of the staff, I really appreciate everything they did. They really went above and beyond to make sure everything we needed for the house and our tenants was addressed quickly and with great contractors. Would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Read these reviews before you do business with them. They have no regard for tenant laws and they don't pretend too. They realize this and the only way to get your money back is small claims court which is obviously difficult if you are hundreds of miles away. Take plenty of pictures and document everything because they will charge you (ex. charged for removing a front door mat; seriously you can't make this stuff up). File your complaints with BBB and the North Carolina Real Estate Comission, and don't hesitate to take them to small claims court. They really have no regard and don't know what tenant laws are so you have a great shot.

I only gave one star because I had one positive experience with one lady when I locked my key in the house as well as the lady who did my semi-annual inspection. Those two were professional.

However, this management company is very hard to deal with at times and for no reason. First off, upon going to inspect the house I leased, it was dirty. I contacted them and told them that the house was dirty and asked if someone was going to clean it up before my move-in date. I was told yes. However, upon moving in, the house was in the same condition, dead bugs everywhere; spider webs everywhere; dirty floor, etc. etc. I took pictures and contacted them to let them know that the home wasn't cleaned in which they claimed someone did come. That was false. And to top it off, they expect me to have the floors professionally cleaned when I move out, which I will not be doing since they were not professionally cleaned upon me moving in. I will live the home in a better condition than I received it but there will no professional cleaning paid to do it. Next, when requesting maintenance on several occasions, it took weeks for someone to contact me to schedule an appointment. The house is decent, however, there are issues with it, such as the floor in the master bathroom is slanted; the smoke detector in the living room is on the ceiling (yet I'm required to changed the batteries somehow); the filter in the master bedroom is near the top of the ceiling (yet I'm required to change that as well some magical way), etc. I wish I had more time prior to signing this lease or else I would have never moved in this home. There's carpet, which doesn't bode well for anyone with a pet. Further, I've had to argue with one of the women that work there about a pet that I told them I would be getting in the summer; which eventually became my ESA. The woman continued to argue about how the breed is restricted even though it was considered an ESA, as well as the "certifications" ESAs are required to have....which are NONE since they are not considered service animals. The whole pet issue ultimately has put a sour taste in my mouth about this management company and I will definitely be looking at other homes at the end of my lease, hopefully none with restrictive and useless HOAs. Dealing with this company has been the worst for me and I hope I don't have to use them in the future while I'm in this area.

Would give this 0 stars if I could. This is by far the worst real estate company I have ever rented through. The property was a complete dump on my move in day. I don t know how the precious tenants passed their inspection. They claimed to have gotten the carpets steam cleaned but it didn t look like it at all. There are things broken, the carpet is ripping, the house REEKED like cigarette as soon as I opened the door. The property manager claimed that she only thought it smelled like an old person home. Property had roaches, spiders, and other bugs. Dryer pipe fell through the wall. Water heater wires were against national electric code. I don t know how this company let me move in with all these problems. They told me they have it set up where a new tenant can move in the day after the old one moved out giving them NO time to fix what needs to be fixed. The property manager almost never answers her phone or returns calls. Things take forever to be fixed and most things most likely won t be fixed because it s up to the owner. Will never again rent through this poor excuse of a real estate company ever again. It needs to be shut down.

From personal experience I do NOT recommend them, go else where you will regret moving in. These people are really rude. I can't wait to move out and take my money elsewhere. I have personally had issues with maintenance & specially the people in the office most of these people should get FIRED for the way they talk to tenants. Even my children hate it!

I built my house in Longleaf Pines in 2006 when I...

I built my house in Longleaf Pines in 2006 when I was stationed at Cherry Point (yes at the top of the market). Back then there was only a few houses on the street with empty lots awaiting to be built. I moved in 2010 to CA and divorced shortly there after leaving me with a house 2000 plus miles away. I attempted to keep it rented on my own for a short while but being that far away and coordinating small repairs , landscaping and such became too much especially when I deployed to Afghanistan for 15 months. I called Real Estate Management and they took it from there. I never in the 10 years they managed my property had to pay my mortgage out of my own pocket. They kept it rented with good tenants. Please keep in mind that you also have to be fair and not try to price gouge your property and complain that it s not being rented. I truly believe that the willingness of the owner to price rent around $50-$100 lower as well as letting RE Management do their job will yield a headache free investment. After owning the house since 2006, I just sold it in 2020 and felt it necessary to give this review from someone whose used them for over a decade. My mind is 100% at ease! I d like to thank Danielle, Shawn and the rest of the team for keeping my place up and helping with coordination of selling.

One of the worst properry management companies I have ever dealt with. They gave us a feeling of trust when we initially met with them. However, over time if you pay attention you will see sign after sign of then either withholding information or flat out lying to your face. Ultimately we were left without a house to move into with only three days to spare. Looking back we are very lucky we didn't get stuck with these horrible people. I'm hoping this review find someone that is about to sign a lease and this compels them not to settle with REMI. If by chance you were looking into the Cedarwood house do not get it! It is falling apart horribly and this company doesn't take care of their properties. Check out other property managers like Clifton if you're looking for a place around Havelock

I have been using Real Estate Management to manage my property for 10 years. We are a military family that has been stationed all over while still owning a house in Havelock and knowing that Real Estate Management has been managing and maintaining my property the entire time we have been away has been worry and stress free.
Communication is a one of their strongest assets. The past 10 years, there have been more storms come through than I can remember and each and every time they have communicated quickly and efficiently to help ease my concerns on my property and my tenants. When ever I have a question or concern I have been able to reach out to any and all the team members and they have gotten back to me in a timely manner, Shawn has been especially great to work with.
Anytime a tenant has expressed a concern with the property, Real Estate Management has contacted me very quickly, and always had options available to me for addressing the concerns of our tenants. Anytime work has needed to be completed they would get a quote for me and if I ever had a concern they would get additional quotes.
If you're looking for a management company to manage your property for you, look no further than real estate management. for the past 10 years we have had a couple tenants and each time they vetted the tenants and gave us applications for us to decide. If you're renter looking for a house trust this team to help find one that meets your needs. As long as you pay your rent on time, and treat the property with care and respect you too can have an excellent relationship with this business.

Wonder why your home is not rented and is sitting empty? Let me clue you in. The person we dealt with last week was completely rude and unprofessional. We inquired about being interested in seeing 213 Pecan Grove. When I arrived at the residence, the code provided via an email did not work for the front door. After attempting to call the number provided, and getting no answer, I finally decided to walk around the outside of the home. I discovered a 2nd block box on the side of the home that had never been mentioned on the garage door which did work. I was in love with this home, as was my husband. We were prepared to pay the deposit and first months rent now, even though we cannot move until Dec. 27th. When I spoke to "Stef" after having to call a few times to get her, she made it clear that we had little chance because according to her, the home owner would most likely not consider us because of our move date. Bad vibes, but still, we spent the money to apply because we were so in love with the home and location. I called her the next day after applying, and it was obvious I was bothering her by doing so. That is when she told me that our current landlord of 5 years gave us a wonderful referral, but that we had "low" credit scores. I asked if there was any way we would know before we made the 550 mile trip back home on Friday, just wanting to know whether I needed to continue looking. Never got an answer, now 4 days later. Thankfully, I went ahead and applied for another home with another realtor, Mento whom was kind and helpful. We qualified without any "credit" issue and had our answer less than 24 hours after applying. My advice to homeowners as well as people looking for a home to rent, STAY away from REMI, and give your business to Phyllis at Mento realty!!!

We have used REMI for the last 4 years to manage our home in Havelock while we have lived out of state. Owning a rental home is not always easy and can be very stressful but we are grateful for the REMI team for helping us over the years. They are extremely professional and always willing to explain and answer questions. We have had some crazy hiccups and Amanda, Shawna & Stefanie have always been so great helping us get through them. We have decided to sell our rental home and they have still continued to give us guidance and support right to the end of our tenants lease. Thank you to the REMI team!! We are so grateful!

REMI was great. They managed our property in New Bern while we lived in Seattle for 6 years. Our house has a pool and a hot tub, so being across the country was nerve wrecking to put it mildly. They really helped us out, and were always fast to respond. They have great relationships with contractors for repairs, and uniformly were able to get repairs made faster than we could by calling around. If you have a property, go with them. If you rent, they ll get things done fast for you. Highly recommend.

I have been in the military for 19 years and have ...

I have been in the military for 19 years and have never had an issue with a property manager until I left Cherry Point. REMI is conveniently located outside the base so naturally military people use them to find homes off base. We used them to find our home in New Bern and did everything they asked of us as tenants. When the time came for us to move out, we used the recommended cleaners, landscapers, and pest control, as well as pressure washed the home. Additionally, we repainted the inside of almost the entire home and made any repair we saw before the final inspection. We spent close to 800 dollars of our own money to make that home better than what we got it. During the final inspection, Tom only annotated 2 issues; rekey and trim work on a door frame. Now mind you, he did not bring the move in checklist nor did he even conduct a thorough inspection. I asked if I should expect any other inspections or if that was the only thing that would get taken out of our deposit. 4 weeks later, we received a check for less than 300 out of the 1650 with a laundry list of vague discrepancies. I have fought to get my money back but they are now ignoring my email, and I cannot fight it like I want because I am overseas once again. Stay away from them, or rent from them and when its time to leave, dont do anything to the home. Either way, you're not going to get your money back.

After the hurricane i can only imagine the craziness and devistation everyone went through. I know we had several damages. Realestate management sent someone out to inspect the property she was kind and thorough. I've never had any issues with them. They're very professional and get the job done. Highly recommend if you are looking for a new place! Keep up the good work.

IF YOU ARE MILITARY STAY AWAY!!!!! PCSed and conducted walk through, worker said we were good to go and if anything they would contact me. Over a year later I m hit with over 3 grand in charges. Lived in one of their homes during the hurricane and the owners never fixed any of the damage, guessing they pocketed the money. Real estate management inc tried charging me for the damages. They will do anything to take your money, especially if you re military. Stick with on base housing.

We have entrusted our home with this company and have had the best experience. Through multiple hurricanes and bad weather and even thought this pandemic we have been in touch as best as possible with them. They have always returned out calls and emails when possible even under difficult circumstances. They are professional and keep us informed of any changes or malfunctions with our home. We live in SC and can rely on them to keep us up to date and to arrange all things regarding our house even when we can't be nearby. Would definitely work with them again. Highly recommend!!

I wish 0 stars was an option. The worst Rental Agency in Havelock. Please, save yourself time and money. Stef is who we have worked with for the past going on month now and the whole experience has been a horrible one. This place needs to be shut down.

We have been renting with Real Estate Management, INC for a little over two years now. The company was always very polite and worked very diligently to take care of any and all issues that arose. The staff was always very courteous and even attentive to our animals whenever they would come by. Our move out inspection went smoothly. Amanda, Tom, Shawna, and Sarah were all a pleasure to interact with!
