Ex-student. High school to avoid, at least with regard to the BTS SIO (dev).

High school renovated certainly, but always with equipment as outdated (if existing), even if the problem of this training reigns especially in computer science education.

At the level of TP "autonomy", prepare to spend most of the time on OpenClassrooms or developpez.com, since what good to create TP yourself according to the students if we are already ready. The technos really required in the world of work are at best overflown (Angular, Prestashop, JS, Docker, etc ...). It is suitable for beginners, of course, and it's good ... Until the second year when your rise in skills will be extremely minimal, since you will learn almost nothing new, and especially nothing consistent compared the skills demanded in a company which will be of a much higher level.

If you want to have a good grade on your exam, you will have to deepen - not just a minimum - the basic knowledge seen in class and learn the really useful technos for yourself at home. And do not count on the free time that you will have in class after finishing your TP, since you will be sent for a walk by saying that you do not do what you are asked.

And speaking of computer science teachers, you will be noted in the head or mood. Better to be discreet or you will never leave the colimator, at the risk of being humiliated in front of the class. Do not count on them to help you beyond a certain level either: If you are really lost, they will surely be too. When the whole class has doubts about the skills of IT teachers, there is a serious problem.

And all this without mentioning the "school life" and the administration that will treat you as a student of second. We are still in the system of "Correspondence book + observations" in higher studies; Infantilizing the possible with the impression of being still in high school instead of being considered major and at least a minimum responsibility.

TLDR; If you want to do a BTS SIO SLAM option, it is better to buy a Premium account at OpenClassrooms and follow the courses of Mathieu Nebra and others, then to become a free candidate at the end of the year. You will have the same result if not better, without having to spend money on transport.

Ex student BTS SIO, I will not hide that these 2 years of study were the longest of my life.

High school with bad attendance. Administration to die of laughter.

Are you soon on your 20s? You thought you had more privileges than the 2nd ones, to be taken seriously as a responsible person?
Nay, you are considered a schoolboy at the beginning of the school year.

This high school is an extension of a badly reputed college.

As far as the BTS courses are concerned, all in all this remains correct except for the development courses (no luck). In first year you are in the whole class and study a common core. Network courses are somewhat lengthy but you learn things there. Development courses are just a big joke, for beginners like me good luck. You are unleashed in nature, no explanation, no skill tracking. Beginners can not catch up with students who already have a good foundation, the gap will remain the same throughout the year and nobody will progress.
It quickly opened my eyes and focused on the systems / networks specialty. I learned a lot and could continue after graduation in this field.

In summary:
High school to avoid, especially if you plan to go in BTS development option.

Ex-student in section of BTS SIO, this establishment is to be avoided as far as possible concerning BTS. The establishment preferred to have an overcrowded class of students (which made that half of the computer courses skipped by obligation to make them in group) rather than to open a second class because that would have "cost too expensive "(but we open another BTS without worries). In addition, the school has a very poor internet connection which is really very penalizing for an "IT" section, because of this problem the rare work to be done had to be done in groups of two which is disturbing to learn Development.

BTS SIO to flee because of some incompetent. The latter note to the head and do not care about the success of their students, judging that such a student has no place in computer science. Might as well pass as a free candidate. :)

A high school completely disconnected from reality at the BTS level. Students considered as college students, schedule changed the same day, sometimes even without warning, materials, infrastructures and learning pedagogy not in accordance with current demands of the profession, dilapidated classrooms despite the "renovation" of the establishment and I past ..

We had 4 different computer science teachers in 2 years in the SIO SISR specialty, complicated to get stability on specialty projects for the BTS.
Regarding the SLAM specialty (development), the few "courses" that we had in the 1st semester of the 1st year (for those who went to SISR) made us express some doubts about the skills of the IT teachers of this option.
No stability on the projects, no concrete follow-up and no real educational contribution.

I therefore strongly advise against this high school if you want to enroll in BTS.

A human-sized high school with a good atmosphere. Teachers are attentive and the system set up for personalized support involves all teachers. The premises are being renovated and the canteen is one of the best in the academy, regardless of those who do not like vegetables;)
