My mother rehabbed at the Lutheran Home after her knee replacement surgery and she could not have had a better experience. The facility was clean, the staff was friendly and professional, the quality of the care was exceptional and even the food was a positive. Visiting was easy and the staff made me feel welcome. I highly recommend the Lutheran Home to anyone needing to rehab.

Very pleased with nursing staff and RN's. When she first came she was very pleased. The CFP's at first were very reluctant in helping with settling in and daily activities. With time I have been able to get things going. My stay here has been good aside from that.
After a 2 week stay at the Luther Home on respite, I found it to be a place that exceeded my expectations. The staff met my needs and safely cared for me. The setting was very clean, bright and airy with a congenial atmosphere. The staff was well trained, attentive and able to meet a variety of a patients needs. I would not hesitate to recommend Luther Home or to return should the need arise again
All I can say is the love and care my mother received at the Lutheran Home of Arlington Heights touched my mother, siblings and myself VERY deeply. When we had questions or simply wanted to understand the stages of aging and their care, there was ALWAYS an employee that would attend us. Sometimes they themselves would answer the question, if they did not know they connected us to the ones who did know.
Went for a very informative talk on how to save your self if an active shooter is in the building. Also had a tasty lunch there. It is always so clean and cheerful there.
Lutheran Home should be called a haven for all of the residents. We have the aid and help we need from the staff. The service and food would be difficult to match. Most impressive is the gardening, flowers, walkways which are carefully planned and enjoyed by everyone. Beautiful display of landscape all around!
My father was a patient here and I would definitely recommend it to others. Staff was very friendly and attentive to both patient and family. Facility was also lovely.
The Lutheran Home took care of my Papa for a few months. I loved visiting him and all the staff were really nice to me and my family. My Papa was very happy there when he was recovering. His room was very nice and cozy. It felt like Papa was home when he was there. I really liked how the staff were really nice and careful with him. They treated him very nicely. I always liked seeing him smile. Thank you all who helped my Papa!
A beautiful, spacious and gracious retirement home with wonderful programs and activities accessible to the community either free or for a nominal free. The food served at programs is wonderful - if that is any indication of the quality food served to residents.
Moved our mom into the Lutheran Home 2 weeks ago on the memory rehab floor. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. Nurses and CNA's are very attentive to the patients. The activity director engages everyone and is very entertaining. One suggestion I would have is that to exit the floor, you have to search for someone to let you out. I understand the security, but perhaps guests can be given a temporary code when visiting. It's frustrating sometimes to walk up and down looking for someone to let us out. Also, sometimes staffing is limited, so when we page for assistance in the room for bathroom purposes, it sometimes takes up to 10 minutes for someone to help. I wish there were more staff on hand, especially on the weekends when it seems to be not a full staff. On the whole, we are very happy with the premises and facilities.
My mother was a resident of the Lutheran Home for a little over 3 years experiencing different levels of care while there. I was always amazed at the wonderful care that she received. The staff was great and always friendly and attentive to mom. I live out of town and it gave me great peace to know that she was well cared for since I couldn't be with her.
My experience with MyRebab was a great experience I had knee repair which required 6 weeks of outpatient therapy.. The staff is friendly and encouraging. My knee recovery was slow with great results. I would highly recommend Lutheran Home outpatient therapy.
The time that my mother spent at the Lutheran Home Memory Care unit was an unexpected blessing for her and our family. The thoughtful care that she received from everyone on the Staff gave her a sense of safety that I had not anticipated, and that made it possible for us to spend our family time together socializing. She was treated with dignity, her room was homey, and all of her personal care needs were met from bathing assistance to hair styling. Lutheran Home's environment was supportive for the whole family, and any of our questions or concerns were met with prompt responses. And she clearly liked the new friends she made at meals, social events and games like bingo. I would not hesitate to recommend the Lutheran Home to anyone looking for a warm, safe environment for a loved one with memory care needs.
I finished my 4th stay at the Rehab facility in December, 2019. In the past, everything was great. This time however there appeared to be a decrease in services and performance. First, the PT and OT therapy staff were wonderful. They got me back on my feet and walking again.
It was obvious that the CNA staff had been reduced in the rooming section of the facility. There were may occasions where it seem to take a long time for someone to respond to a room call. They did not want me to get out of the bathroom without help. So I pushed the button but it took at 10 minutes for someone to show up. Another instance I observed was that people were in the dining room waiting to go back to their rooms but the CNA's were nowhere to be found. Unacceptable. Many of the CNA's were wonderful. Some seemed to not care. There appeared to be little supervision of that group so they did what they wanted. Their cell phones sometimes seemed more important. Also, the use of "Agency" staff needs to be evaluated.
The nurses were great and very attentive to our needs. No complaints.
Summarily, this facility has always been ranked at the top for care. If you want to stay at the top of the list, you need to act like you want to be the best. I urge you to examine your staffing and goals.
My grandma was just there for a hip replacement. She was there from Friday-Tuesday. Every time we had questions for the nurses, no one knew what was going on with her. No one had any answers to any questions we had. She told them the medication she can/can't take and they didn't listen to her. She told them the food she can/can't take and no one listened to her. She had an on and off fever for 24 hours and the only reason something was done to bring it down was because we demanded her to be brought to the ER. If we were not there, nothing would have been taken care of. If you call for a nurse, it will take 10+ minutes for someone to show up. There was a lady in the other room screaming for 10 minutes to get a nurse in there to help her. No one communicates here and I would never feel safe having any family members stay here.
My friend had a wonderful experience at My Rehab at Lutheran Home. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They did a great job attending to all of her needs and a difficult recovery was made much easier.
I have been to quite a few of your programs. I really enjoy them, also your lunches are excellent. I really try to never miss your church sales and I will be here tomorrow. I have gotten some excellent buys and I always go home with yummy bake goods. Thank you! Also my husband likes it too!
We have many friends at the Lutheran Home, both residents and staff. Our friends are happy to be in such a caring place they call "HOME".As an area resident we are welcomed into the many programs at LH. And we have just scratched the surface. THANK YOU L.H. ! bob and Gail
My grandma came here for rehabilitation after her knee surgery. She was hesitant to stay but was in the best place possible to aid in her healing. The facility and staff were awesome and the care she received there allowed her to be back in her home and on her own again in no time! We would highly recommend having loved ones stay for rehab.
The Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, Illinois is a great place. I ve visited several times for various occasions and have been impressed every time. Staff members are top notch, friendly and caring. The facilities are clean and you can tell the residents are happy and are cared for very well. I think the food is amazing, nothing like you might expect. The attention to details is incredible from the gift shop to the first nurses station you see, it is a quality. The chapel is beautiful and Sunday services are inspiring.
I work at Luther village and go to the Lutheran home for special programs the programs are excellent sometimes it includes dinner which is very delicious. It's a great place to visit and if you live here it's great also. Hats off to you. Shar
My Grandmother was just moved to this community and absolutely loves it. The food is incredible and the staff are attentive, professional, and most of all friendly. Moving from one retirement community to another can be really difficult, and we are so happy that she is being taken care of so well in this transition.
My husband and I have been attending twice weekly Parkinson's exercise classes at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights and can't sing enough praises for the instructor and the program! We both come away every Monday and Thursday with our spirits lifted and our bodies feeling better than when we entered. Having a small brunch afterwards that the home provides is a great way to socialize which Parkinson's patients need. We just returned from our winter in FL and are still most impressed with this Parkinson's exercise class and its instructor. The hour goes quickly with the exercise and the beautiful music that accompanies it.
The programs that are offered to not only residents but the public are wonderful! They appropriately deal with current ongoing issues both health-wise and in daily living. Informative speakers and fun presentations (like the Elvis one yesterday) are joyful and uplifting to the spirit! The meals, served right to you at the table, are inexpensive and delicious. I would highly recommend attending one of the sessions that interests you. You ll have a great time, come away with new or added knowledge, get a chance to meet and socialize with people, and you won t regret it!
