The best University of Pakistan is Lahore University of management Science

Great atmosphere! It's as if you're in a university abroad. Acceptance is tough but if you can get in and afford the 7 lakh tuition fee it'll be worth it i reckon.

Beautiful Campus , with near western ambiance. Far from a humble begging in a rented house in Gulburg in late 80s, Mashallah. Hats off to leaders at Packages to think and start such a great institution, way back when.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word LUMS?

Vulgarity, a bunch of pampered kids smoking cigarettes, elite class, narcissists, stuck-up teens, the high fee, the beautiful campus, its state of the art business school, a classic display of modernism?

Probably an amalgamation of everything mentioned above.

While some of these things are true and some highly exaggerated, a few are outright false. These misconstrued images of LUMS have been imprinted in our minds and I do not see many people questioning them. So I have decided to address these stereotypes about LUMS that have long occupied our minds and have tried my best to jot down explanations as to why they are wrong.

1) Only the elite class goes to LUMS

Wrong.

It is true that only the elite class can afford paying 100% fees at LUMS, however, since LUMS offers handsome financial aid packages to deserving students, students from all strata s of society are enrolled in the university. The LUMS administration also goes out of their way to attract talent from underprivileged areas through their National Outreach Program.

2) LUMS has a very kharab mahol (bad environment)

What word can sum up a non-exhaustive list of sins?

Kharab (bad).

Do you swear a lot? Do you smoke? Drink? Stay awake all night?

Talk to the opposite gender? Sing? Dance?

Do any of these things?

If yes, then I am really sorry to inform you that you have just earned yourself the title of a kharab bacha/bachi (spoilt boy/girl).

Now, I am pretty sure that kharab log exist in every institution. May be a few people who fit your definition of kharab exist in LUMS as well, but why generalise the entire LUMS student body? Labelling the entire community as kharab is no different than labelling every Pakistani a terrorist.

Besides, during the time I have spent at LUMS, I have not witnessed any uncanny instances or any display of indecency.

Pakistan 's number one university with a variety of degrees being offered. Renowned faculty producing exceptional students. Students have the option of being part of different societies including AISEC, TEDXLUMS etc

Not my own experiences but I heared its great organisation from experienced ones.

LUMS. you won t regret getting here. There are different courses. And don t forget to apply for financial aid. Apart from botanical gardens, there is gym, swimming pools, grounds, huge library. LUMS grooms you!

It is one of the best universities I have ever seen. It is well known in Pakistan for its researchs and other programs. It offers degrees in many fields. The faculty here is the best.

Lahore University of Management Sciences is the best University in Pakistan. Hands Down! Visiting it is always fun. I always recommend LUMS as a first priority to everyone looking for not only great education but also a lot of exposure! If you are looking for studying in Pakistan you can't find any better option than this institute!

Excellent place for business education!

The reviews about this university is unmatchable in Pakistan, that's why I visited this university on open day yesterday.

Entrance was good with good security arrangements, cleanliness was also good, Staff was also cooperative.

One of the coolest thing of this university is the multicultural people gathered at one place which is pervasive to study here.

Lastly, I don't know about the fee structure of this university but if someone is interested to pursue his business studies then this university is the best option in Pakistan till now.

This place is unlike anything you would have experienced before. The environment, the faculty, your peers, everything is outstanding. The student body is very diverse and comes from all over the country.

School admissions are need-blind. So don't be put off due to cost; if you are good to get in, something will be arranged for the finances.

This is a life changing investment in yourself.

The university was granted a charter by the government of Pakistan in March 1985. The LUMS Board of Trustees comprises members of the domestic business community, academics and government representatives. The principal functions of the board are to set policy guidelines and to review the operations of the university. The Board of Governors, as the sponsor of LUMS, raises funds for the university's operation and maintenance. In 1986, a business school by the name of Lahore Business School was established for an MBA Program. Later the school was renamed and is known as Suleman Dawood Business School.
After the construction of the current campus, LUMS started undergraduate programmers in Economics and Computer Sciences in 1994. In 1996, the School of Arts and Science was introduced to oversee the undergraduate programmers. LUMS established the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law to oversee the Social Sciences, Economics and Law departments. The School of Sciences and Engineering, for the disciplines of Mathematics, Computer Science and other science subjects, was established in 2008. As of 2016, the university charges PKR. 272,400 tuition fee per semester for undergraduate students.
LUMS launched the National Outreach Program (NOP) in 2011 to reach out to bright students from underprivileged areas of Pakistan. Under this initiative, induction of selected candidates into the academic programs will be facilitated by preparation for the University's admission criteria and then by a provision of full financial assistance to those who qualify. Many students are admitted to LUMS on the basis of NOP. There are also a number of scholarships which are offered on need/academic achievement basis. LUMS loan scheme covers 20%-100% of the tuition fee component of the student. LUMS loans are interest-free.

Apart from Managment it has other schools including school of science, education school, law school etc. Most well qualified faculty is found in the boundaries of lums. It's library is one of the favorite place for intellectuals. Must visit some time and include it in your dream institutes.

Security is tight, management is okay, other than that everybody knows what LUMS is.

A group of entrepreneurs launched first world class business school in Lahore during late 1980s under the leadership of Syed Babar Ali.
