Old fort worth institution, but service is slow, building is old and smelly, I recieved a glass of water with something black and gelatinous floating in it, and food is just ok. Never been impressed, but you'll find lots of older Fort Worthians dining here every day, a who's who.

Love this place.

Brunch kicked a goal. The service was outstanding and the food was equally satisfying. The bloody mary wasn't quite my style; it wasn't spicy enough and the celery was a bit overwhelming. However, opinions on bloody Mary drinks vary greatly. YMMV. Let's get to what counts here, the food. I indulged in cheese grits and the crab Benedict. I love love Benedict eggs and these guys delivered. It wasn't as good as my benchmark, The Buena Vista in San Francisco, but nonetheless absolutely worth getting. Do yourself a favor and get the cheese grits as well. The service was right on the chili; it wasn't overwhelming and they were available right when we needed them. The tables are spaced apart comfortable and they don't cram you in like sardines...bless their souls! We made reservations and were seated promptly.
