Luca is famous for his pizza initially on the site of Morningside shopping centre before it was built, Luca moved here with great success, you have kids play facilities outside as well which makes for a great day out.

The look of the place is some what fancy, the feel is a bit boring. It's ideal for quiet dinners. There are TVs for sport. The staff is okay, not very attentive though. Our waiter was serving two other tables while the others were just standing watching the TV, so you tend to feel the wait. The drinks are good though.

Amazing; Credit where credit is due, last night was the 3rd time we've eaten there, and it's been impressive every single time. The pasta was amazing as per usual. I will however suggest, when you order something, don't get rice as a side. The rice was a bit dry, but the service, price, and quality of the pasta's and pizza was incredible. I would definitely suggest you go there.

The restaurant was fairly busy, being month end, we took a chance as we were in the area but had not made a booking. We were fortunate to get a table and our waiter arrived promptly after we were seated by the manager. Great service and both my wife and I chose the Argentinian style rump steak as we both hadn't tried it yet. I must say it was an excellent choice and it was done to perfection. It is a family restaurant so it was a bit rowdy but that did not detract from the good meal and the good service. I had the most divine chocolate truffle cake for dessert. Made with dark chocolate and infused with Jamaican rum, it was delicious. All in all, a great meal, and I would like to go back to try their Italian specialities!

Great selection of pizzas, pastas, calzones and salads! Cannot go wrong with whichever choice you make. Good service too.
Major plus for families with young kids is that there is a cordoned-off kids play area.

This has to be the best Italian restaurant in Johannesburg. We were a big group and every single person raved about the food. The Italian prosecco and wine are all very well priced (to good to be true) as is the Italian grappa and digestives served by the owner himself. What a gem. Do not miss this

Absolutely outstanding Italian food, hospitality and ambiance. The dishes at Luca's are unique... such unique dishes include Ravioli Con Salsa al Fungi and a pizza with Lamb and Rocket and also Lamb al Calfe that is evidently made with espresso and peaches.

Luca's is a very busy place with lots of trendy people. Service is good and the food is fair. You can bring the kids to come play in the provided jungle gym if you like. All round good experience. I would recommend any of the menu options especially the pizza.
