It's a small museum; if you like to read all the plaques like I do, it'll take you about 1.5hrs to see everything. Their Ancient Egyptian section is arguably the best part of their collection. They have 3 modern art sections to see; the one upstairs is particularly interesting, not just for the art, but as you can look out the window and see the USS Kidd. Their interactive areas are still closed (as of me writing this), so the planetarium is pretty much the only thing small children will find interesting, and the planetarium shows are really geared towards a younger audience. I'm sure it's an even better museum for children once the interactive stuff opens up.

Bit expensive for what it is, but it's a great thing to have in the community.

EXHIBITS:
By far the coolest thing is the mummy exhibit. I just wish it explained more about the physiology of the mummy and why it's "unusual." I'm comparing this to the MSI in Chicago in my head, so maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but the exhibits were sparse. Even the art exhibits lacked, quite honestly. If they were going to go that route, I'd have preferred more of a local artist section. The upstairs light exhibit was basically just what happens when affluent people get ahold of a particle collider. Not very interesting. I feel like a lot of the art was just affluent people doing meaningless stuff for aesthetic purposes, which is fine and all but not the caliber I was hoping for. I was hoping for more thought-provoking or working class art.

I feel the experience of being at LASM is very much hindered by COVID-19 being a thing, which really highlights the scarcity of the exhibits.

GIFT SHOP:
Small, disappointing, and overpriced. Very much aimed at children. Even the t-shirts are disappointing and boring visually, which is odd for an art museum.

That said, we had a great time together. It was just a little pricy for the variety they had. But it isn't every day I get to see a mummy, so I was happy just for that. The staff is also SO sweet and enthusiastic.

Ages 3 to 10 is $10 everyone else is $12. There is only one dinosaur head of a triceratops and a small plant eating dinosaur that I had never heard of. Great exercise because there were plenty of stairs. The only reason I didn't leave a negative review about this museum is due to the mummified Male. You could see that he was still juicy and he had curly red hair. Other than that its mainly pictures on the wall.

I've been here several times. I enjoy the dome state-of-the-art screen that really looks like the night time sky and the mummy exhibit.

Also, there's always a different showcasing in the art gallery.
