I was yelled at and hung up on by John Allen, Mgr., at Lou Harris Co. in Wheeling, Illinois, today because I questioned the validity of being charged for expenses being added to my bill because the dental office that provided my dental services, Lincoln Park Institute in Chicago, did not do their job of investigating why they were not getting paid by my dental insurance company, Delta Dental of Illinois, before hiring a collection agency to collect money from me.
I discovered that no one at Lincoln Park Dental made the necessary inquiries to resolve the matter, I did and the collection agent handling my account didn t either so why should I have to pay these expenses.
I was the one to do the research to resolve the issues regarding who was responsible for how much should be paid on my dental bill.
A final payment was made for $145.00
on May 2, 2018 to The Lincoln Park Institute. This was three years after I received the services.
I called the dental office twice before and they told me my balance was zero. Even my dental insurance company initially told me I owed nothing.
I learned that this claim had once been reported to my credit bureau but it s no longer on there but a potential creditor found the account. I then started making telephone calls to find out what had to be done.
Thank goodness up until today the personnel at Lincoln Park Dental have been professional although not that informative. The personell at Deltal Dental were professional and informative this time and I found someone to help me sort things out.
I cannot see myself ever talking to someone as unprofessional as John Allen at Lou Harris Co. in Wheeling, Illinois. He even hung up the the telephone on me when I asked to speak to someone else. Oh well.
