Loved this place, taught me a WHOLE LOT. WISH I COULD GO BACK SOMETIMES. U live and learn real fast growing up in juvenile halls to camps & Cya. Yaya

Was in this facility fr0m late 60s to early 70s. Great staff. I've been from units a to x including unit o waiting for placement. I worked in the kitchen on a couple different stays. Loved it. One counselor stands out above all and that was Ron Woods. Great guy. If you can ever find people like him to work in there you'dd be doing the probation dept a great service. All in all it took quite awhile but l finally got my act together. I'm happy with my life.

I was in this place more than fifty years ago, wow amazing that it still is around, at one point I was in one section older sister in another and older brother in another, we all ended up living in Hawaii, for the rest of our lives it was get out of calif or suffer, we were from Redondo beach area good kids just rascal rabbits, brings back lonely thoughts.
So thankful i got out of Calif and ended up in Hawaii on the big Island in the last fifty years have only been back to calif two times, you can keep it, there is no place like Hawaii, in our day there were no gangs, just four to six weeks till they found you a horrible foster home..

Corrupt Defense Lawyers, they work with the D.A to incarcerate as many as possible and get the highest prosecution rate possible... I'm a testimony of how corrupt and unfair this #System is.
I was once in there for another person's crime and The lawyer did not want to fight the case and was swaying me to take the District Attorney's offer so that I can go home on that day. I did! Being young n dumb and wanting to go home .

Experience was good although waiting to he called in for court with my son took for ever the staff their was polite and respectful. My son visit was very comforting to both myself and him so I cant complain.

Los padrinos was there in 1972 had no problem being there , I was involved in activities and staff were polite and nice

I was in unit D. This juvenile is a good spot to get your life back on track.i got locked up at 14 and it taught me alot stuff i havnt been back since.

Life changing place... I was 13 when I came here! It sucks when you don t know anyone but when you got your click inside with you time goes by fast! Seen friends from elementary in here, friends from my old neighborhood! But overall it was chilled! Food was ight not a five star restaurant but around 2.3 beds a bit flatten but all good! Would recommend!

this place is corrupted the defense lawyers they assign to you are crooked they will work against you so you can get incarnated. if you get sent here and you can't afford a lawyer try a civil lawyer not one from here if you can't fire each one they assign you yes you can do this.

Website says they provide toiletries upon intake. FALSE. I never even got a toothbrush. Website also says that upon release, clothing/items that were removed from inmates will be returned to them. ALSO FALSE. When I was being processed, the mean women who made me undress took the decorative pin buttons off my shirt, said "these are weapons" and tossed them into a trash bin. When I was released, my original clothing was "missing" (fortunately my grandparents brought along a change of clothes). Also, the food they provide is barely edible (moldy!).
