I have been trying to refer someone who really needs assistance that is in front of oil or business. I do not want to call LAPD because this is now and has been LAHSA responsibility. Everytime I call I cannot speak to anyone. Need to send a team out to check on this guy.

Lahsa put my family in a motel and now no response my family would like to k ow whats going on with the next steps and pearl told my wife not to call her after she had told us they would send a worker to help us with the next steps to transitional housing. I think i have a lawsuit ill be contacting a lawyer so lasha dont leave my family on the street tonight

They are doing a lot to help the homeless, it will take time and education. Remember most of these people have not been homeless and it is learning process for them as well as finding appropriate locations for shelters, permits to build them, people to staff them and the rhetoric they face with people opposing them. I applaud their efforts and hard work. Change is coming but progress is slow, Rome wasn't built in a day
Don't trust this corrupt organization with your personal information. They abuse access to it and don't provide help to 99% of people who get input in their system
If your actually trying to get something done go to CES and get informed straight to 6th floor and get an appointment. If your trying to get temporary help then head over to 7th floor and get redirected to a shelter that will not help you at all and close all doors even if it's a referral they only help females with referral to a shelter but all males don't have space for them there's only one shelter but they keep it closed 24/7 doesn't open and has nobody to attend you
The LASHA did not help one bit while homeless or during a unprecedented global crisis to insurer clients health and well being i have to borrow loans just to stay in hotel during quarantine also their funds go to Volunteer of America had me sign papers they falsely promise to help me through rapid rehousing program and never paid to help me move in i had to pay out of pocket another organization taking advantage of the low income people and suspicions activity with them and landlords where clients suffer
My mother who is 74 years old and disabled signed up for Project Roomkey in March 2020. To date they have not given us a room. I am her caregiver, daughter and also severely disabled. We lost our rental house after 18 years right before COVID hit because the landlord raised the rent $1,000/mo and we couldn t pay it. I filed for permanent disability but that got put on hold because of the virus. My mother has spoken to 8 different case workers and has now reached the top person. They owe her thousands of dollars for past hotel costs we ve had to pay for, but won t give us the money until they check us into a room, which they can t seem to do. She calls them multiple times every day. Nothing gets done except constant lying from this agency. $500 million dollars went into this program and this is how they treat people? Two disabled people with serious health conditions living in a Jeep Cherokee packed with our belongings. I just want to die and get out of this hell because it s obvious these people aren t going to help.
All staff is not on the same page. I work with another agency in he skid row community and see and hear about their work. Lack of training from the TOP seems to be a barrier. I would be interested in looking at their numbers in all SPA's to see how many people get shelter and continued case managed.
Does this Homeless Agency prevent the working class from being homeless.? We have to start with the working class first because the working class are having a difficult time with the high rent increases. Why should the working class suffer if they are doing the right thing by going out to work each day and attending part-time classes.
LAHSA funds a lot of programs it really ain't worth it. They funded me a hotel for 3 months the first day I got sick and went to the hospital with a viral problem and massive headaches and throat stripped which I had to take antibiotics. When I came back from the hospital I went to Hopics and told them that they should have been check the rooms and they took me off the program. Now I'm sitting outside their place on San Pedro and Slauson and I guess that's my new apartment. Yeah I live hard hard love and hard rights but when things happen to me I show people by example these programs are garbage. There's no way that for 3 months you're going to pay some raggedy down shut down piece of junk Hotel$9,000 When that can be used for individual to get into an apartment and live there for a couple of months and get up on this toes but you're going to give it to business owners that Mismanaged their business and turned a business of junk haul and then they want us to go stay in there and when something life-threatening happens to me and my family you guys want to shut me down like I did something wrong. So me and my son is staying at spa6 Family Solutions Center this will be sleeping out in front of it we got to go with the blankets my son is going to let them take him away from me here do what you got to do but I'm asleep up here piss and s***all day right in front of this month and ain't nothing going to do the show you what their program does for people. Businesses are about generating money to enrich themselves by any mean possible. LAHSA may have "homeless services" as part of the name, but in truth they are JUST ANOTHER BUSINESS.
Homelessness businesses are not required to be publicly transparent with their policies, so they need never worry about being held accountable for any transgressions. Further, the homeless people have no impartial advocates WITH CLOUT that they can bring their issues to, who will intercede and speak for them. With no social protections, opportunistic abuses WILL happen and it will be your word versus that of the homelessness business.
I came to LAHSA on several occasions between 2015-2017 about problems I had had with organizations and shelters. I followed the grievance process in each case and though I managed to get a person to hear me, who seemed concerned, ULTIMATELY there was NEVER resolution.
I reminded them about all of this in 2018 and they professed to have no record of ever having talked to me. I needed to find and forward an email exchange I had had to prove myself, which still resulted in just another dead-end.

I was trying to find a way to volunteer with homeless services but they said that they only use volunteers for the homeless count 2-3 times a year they weren't even able to point me to a place that would be looking for volunteers

Concerning L.A.H.S.A. I've been homeless for almost 2 years bouncing from shelter to shelter currently now working with a agency People Concern that conduct meetings with the Los Angeles Housing Authority however, all my documents are file ready & I meet the requirements for permanent housing but, is not being considered. I sighn over custody of my only child who has a disability and facing all kind of conflicts and difficulties for visitations. Im doing all that I can to reach out to supervisors, head bosses & still nothing! All I've been getting is just the running around, missed calls, forwarding to other numbers & voicemails. It's only so much my case manager I'm working with can do but in a team effort can make this happen
There are a lot of promises, and theyll really be there for you and work with you, and when you need them they have dismissed you ouf of the program bv because you're not making their numbers look good.
I saw incident after incident. I was told I can go back but it's not worth it.
They have these meetings and act like they are listening to your input but they have already made their minds up

The Los Angeles homeless service authority did not help me and my family. We went through a homeless family program . We had our funding stolen and fell under abuse from or program providers . We went to the Los Angeles homeless service authority and they didn't help . They let us face eviction ,did not investigate our abuse and let us be pushed to the streets homeless .and they did nothing , didn't even care .

If i could give minus stars i would give 5 negative starts. I was at Center for Life and they housed me in a very nice house with shared bedroom. only, no one is screening the people they house together or either the recipients are so good at manipulating the educated housing specialists that i was placed in a room with a gang member who had over 50 pounds on me and awakened wanting to fight at 3 am on the second day. This was done because this woman with grown children and a mother not far away, wanted the room to herself. I left so i would not get beaten. The landlords did not obey their part of the contractor/lease by dealing with the threat. I left. I was not allowed back to safety ,Center for Life, because the policy stated that once I've been housed i cannot come back for 3 years. But that is even if they house me with violent person who is acting out.
Lastly, my case manager wanted me to sign papers for LAHSA to the effect that i had been housed successfully and it was all good on paper. I was even supposed to sign off on papers for lahsa. I would not sign the papers because i wasj not signing off on a lie. I did get help from Volunteers of America, but not Center for life. This usually does not happen, but unusual circumstances require unusual solutions for the safety of the individual. If their is known danger and the person needs shelter that 3 year rul should be suspended. The clients safety should always be first. I'm glad for the experience. But i should have been allowed safety.
Question, how can a place like this take pride in taking care of homeless people when they can't even answer the phone? When I dial the 225-6581 number, all I get is a greeting and then dead air. And when I dial the 683-3333 number, the automated voice says they will call me back and they never do. People are losing everything because of this pandemic, LAHSA please do better and ANSWER YOUR PHONE, or at least provide an e-mail address.
Need to keep they word told me I had motel room for temporary housing and then change rules
They don't even answer the dam office phone! What kind of an agency is this? They really don't help anyone when they can't even answer their own office phone! I am supposed to be in Project Room Key!
The answering service tells a broad description of service making the call confusing with all sorts on other programs instead of its own

They dont help at all. Darren totally made moves on me and wheb i turned him down disrespected me and stop with trying to help with services.staff can be rude and dont really help.at least the last 3 i dealt with darrell. Darren and a younger hispanic woman. Darrell is polite but doesnt communicate with my case managers.please hire people who want to help the homeless not just cash a check or got out of jail
One of the most critical agencies in Los Angeles County making a difference in fighting Homelessness. Getting homeless families (children, too) off the street and into a home costs taxpayers less than 1/3 of the costs to pay for homelessness on the street. Think about it and take action. LA Homeless Services Authority always need volunteers, are you in? I am.
I'm currently a participant and they do so much. The have resources and pretty good connections. Always polite and respectful. Thank you guys so much

I call back in january and was told by mark c. That I had to be homeless for about a year if i wanted help then i went to harbor interfaith in san pedro and they said they need proof i had my ssi papers and the housing authority papers and still no help. Im 57 what a let down
To my knowledge, they are not doing a great job, basically slacking. Its come to my attention the staff have become unprofessional, taking off masks when they shouldn't, at motel 6 hacienda heights, ca off 7th st, And are illegally evicting some of the homeless participants and not giving them their belongings back. I hope you handle future situations much better.
