I came as a guest/ membership trial. Initiation fee are a steep. Monthly fees are comparable to that of equinox. The actual gym facilities are out dated and need some love, especially in comparison to the renovated locker and spa areas. Top notch. After my trial no one bothered to follow up with joining. The perks that come with the club are nice, but I'm not personally familiar with them, only with what I've read through their site.

The location is in the heart of downtown los Angeles and has a very good location whether you are driving or walking. Their rooms are spacious and bright with decorations of the history of the building. I enjoyed the friendly staff and service was awesome!

Let's say that I've had better and save us the trouble. It's ok on the weekdays, but don't expect anything crazy. Order a drink (straight up preferred) enjoy the dull atmosphere, have a good time with your friends and call it a day. If they had better prices i would give them more stars.

One of the most vivid memories I have of each The Los Angeles Athletic Club I've been to is the feelings of excitement and anticipation as I stand on the side walk watching the race/walk pass by. At that very moment I know that the moment I take one step into the street, I'll be in for one of San Fransisco's great experiences.

I absolutely loved this hotel which is also an athletic club. The manager, Gretchen, was very helpful, very nice and very accommodating. We had enjoyed the Olympics size pool, the spa and the steam room, not to mention the jacuzzi and the quiet room in women's locker area. The area is kept very clean, floors are dry, employees are very nice. There is a full basketball court, numerous rooms to play squash, the gym, aerobics room. The breakfast is included in this hotel with organic products. There is a huge library where you can relax and read books . The metro station is within the walking distance. Great place to spend time in aside the sight seeing of the city.

Very supportive management but not very supportive staff. Not informed that there was no catering provided over weekends and delivery option did not cater for my dietary needs. Suffering from jetlag I was forced to go to an upmarket restaurant feeling sick and under dressed. Did not enjoy the experience. Shame since everything else seemed ok.

Located in downtown near many dining and shopping options. The hotel is older but well maintained. The spa looks recently renovated with a hot tub, steam room, and sauna, and other amenities I didnt visit. There is an rooftop patio for weddings and events.

The Los Angeles Athletic Club is a good time. In terms of food there are some fine vegetarian options on the menu... my friends and I split plantains as an app which come highly recommended. The fruit-infused rum is intensly sweet and an exotic, fun change. On a friday night there was a diverse and interesting crowd that contributed to The Los Angeles Athletic Club laid-back and fun atmosphere. Overall it's a refreshing place to be, especially if (like me) you're on an overload of Italian food.

Dusty and overpriced. Slowest elevator in the world.

4 stars: hotel rooms, service and sports facilities.
3 Star: Parking for $ 20 per day. However, as a hotel guest, you can drive in and out as often as you like.
2 stars: breakfast. At the level of German lower and middle class hotels (eggs, bacon, French toast, fruit) with economical service.
1 star: Hygiene and the "trainers" in the gym. Taking off the jogging shoes in the squat rack was forbidden by the "Tainer", who was otherwise busy with his smartphone. Almost all customers drank directly with their mouths from the water dispenser instead of using a bottle. No "trainer" present said anything about this.

Location: Downtown. A real test of patience with the car. 60 minutes to Venice Beach. 60 minutes to Long Beach. 45 minutes from Griffith Observatory. Always in rush hour traffic.

At $ 750 for three nights, this is absolutely bad.

Ate the Thanksgiving brunch in the dining room on floor 3. The food was fantastic and in staggering amounts and variety. The decor and facilities are top notch. Plus, the manager is such a nice guy!

I have participated in the moving party through the city that happens annually the past several years. Run the race? LOL no. Drunk walk the race, yes. Great experience IF you actually start partying at 7:30am. Fair warning, you will see some crazy stuff along with hilarious costumes and themes.

Pretty nice place, not busy at all. Had a relaxing environment but. It sure it's conducive to a great workout though. However for a beginner or someone not so serious, could be a great place. Needs a little more excitement.

Hotel which is distinguished primarily by the sports facilities: Olympic swimming pool, basketball court, gym and spa with the luxury changing rooms. Also good breakfast where you have long included coffee and orange juice, fresh fruit, croissants, and also salty foods (potato sausage egg omelet and more). The hotel also has a terrace where you can admire some parts of downtown and a great restaurant for lunch or dinner where the evenings are often organized jazz concerts. The rooms are of a good standard but nothing exceptional compared to the rest of the hotel ... For example, the bathroom is from a lower category hotel. However, excellent room cleaning and courteous and helpful staff.
The only downside is the area unfortunately crowded with homeless people and so the evening is not the best walking in the neighborhood ... Nobody bothered me but it feels insecure.

Location is ok during the day but pretty scary at night, I would have stayed somewhere more modern if it wasn't for work. Rooms and hotel amenities are great because you get access to all the facilities and can join their classes, too bad I was here for a business so I didn't attend any. Building is pretty old but it has its character. If you enjoy antique boutique hotels you will definitely enjoy it here, or if you like to stay active while you are here. Overall pretty good hotel except it's location being a little sketchy.

I didn't get to use any of the services, just touring around the facilities, but it looked very well run and clean. Lots of dark wood on the interiors, and almost reeked of old money. Pretty cool, if you're into that kind of thing.

My friend was visiting me and he was in this hotel for a week. I went there a couple of times and I was surprised how good place is this. Everything was so clean. The rooms are massive and with great view. The staff is amazing. If you are not feeling okey you can stay in the hotel, they have a lot of different stuff inside.

Excellent location + hospitality + good wi-fi

Excellent location + hospitality + good wi-fi

Hearty breakfast, but the menu is the same every day,
Important: When traveling with a child or if you have a sensitive dream, when ordering, show that the room faces the avenue. This is a place branch, I think, can be very noisy on the lower floors. We lived at 5, so we went until today, which didn't bother us.

This place had had my attention for quite awhile. I finally got to the chance to stay here for my anniversary in May, and it lived up to expectations. The rooms were clean and as amazing as they look in the pictures. It's not an "affordable" option but if you want a place that's the definition of "classy", this is it. A great bar, facilities, and a free breakfast buffet per guest, per day make this a great choice in DTLA.

Good location for downtown, but far from anything you might actually want to do or see in Los Angeles.
It's a classic hotel with an old Hollywood feel.
Breakfast is above average.
Views are minimal.
Some staff are wonderful such as Ernie and BK, others, sour and unhelpful.
Awesome gym facilities (as to be expected)

Was here for a work event. Thought it was a cool place with a lot of history; it opened in 1880! The staff was excellent and the entire venue was nice. Parking is expensive even with validation. Opted out of the club lunch and ate around the corner; there are a lot of option.
