Just starting to use this bus company for my son's afternoon school pick up. Was a bit surprised by the low reviews but after I called the company I can partly see why people aren't positive about this service. I made a simple inquiry to see if the bus could stop directly at the front of my son's school where young children wait with teachers until the bus arrives (my son's teacher recommend I make this inquiry) . Firstly she said the bus didn't go past my son's school. It does and it stopped there as my daughter gets on the same bus from her highschool before it reaches my son's school. Then she said that there is no special treatment for anybody to picked up at a non designated stop and the teacher was clueless.
I understand that there are procedures for bus companies to follow but the lack of flexibility surprised me. Like many kids on the bus, my son and daughter must pay to use this service to get home from school and my son is almost the last kid to be picked up around 3:30pm. The bus has its designated stop about 80 meters past where my son's pick up area is. Nobody is even waiting there at that time. It seems nobody wins in this situation unfortunately due to the bus company being unwilling to make a slight adjustment that would cost it no extra time and at the same time improve it's reputation with at least one customer.
My grandson left his school bag on the bus on Monday afternoon complete with ipad, portable hard drive etc. A call to the very helpful reception at Logan City Bus Service the next morning let us know that the bag was there with contents intact. Many thanks to the driver and staff for a great result for this event.
The operation staff are very friendly and helpful. The Admin and HR staff are very friendly and helpful except the CSO are always looking for the faults of the drivers and give warning.
The office is closed indefinitely due to Covid-19, with nobody to answer the phone or give information, no updates to the website, no way to get in touch. Very unprofessional to just pack up and leave the office. At least the phone could have been redirected. The drivers are no longer accepting cash, so the students can't get a weekly ticket anymore, having to pay about double with GoCard.
Good old Logan city buses. On time as always(sarcasm) 20 mins late when the bus (550) departs from Kingston station and pick up is jacaranda av. Drivers morning attitude as usual stinks ( not all drivers my old 552 morning drivers were very nice guys). Need attitude and staff change I think
I think that the buses (especially the white ones) are quite ugly, outdated and need an update. Look at Brisbane, they have very nice, amazing and better looking buses. The Logan buses are just UGLY. I really think you should take some inspiration from Transport for Brisbane.
My bus 573 is never ever on time and quite often buses just don't turn up. Yet 3 x 575 buses arrive within minutes of one another.
Again I have been standing at the Edward St bus stop and 3 x 573 buses have arrived and left on time sofaras the app says yet I have not seen one bus physically turn up!
I've been to third world countries with better services.
If you live near the Slacks Creek Bus Stop you are better off driving to the Eight Mile Plains Bus Station instead. The P581 bus service is incredibly unreliable with buses regularly never arriving or turning up ten to fifteen minutes late despite the depot only being three minutes drive away. And if you think Translink will help our complaints so far have not led to any improvements.
