We chose Lofthouse Construction to add two bedrooms, a gym and a bathroom to our unfinished basement. From start to beyond the project's completion, Jarred was a pleasure to deal with. Having known Jarred outside of his work for a number of years, I was confident this was the right choice, even if it was a bigger job for Jarred, as he noted to us from the onset. I thought this, of course, spoke to Jarred's honesty, but also his ambition and willingness to afford additional attention to detail so he can confidently say he can take on the bigger jobs. Suffice it to say, he was right. He brought in experienced, professional, reliable, and trustworthy tradespeople, but what impressed us the most was Jarred's ability to coordinate everything in a timely fashion. He ensured his subcontractors met the deadlines he set for us, the clients, and if something was delayed, behind, or on backorder, he was again open and honest with us.
With respect to quality of work, we were just as impressed with Jarred. His attention to detail and ability to make changes on-the-fly were both beyond what we expected. In addition to that, when changes were requested mid-project as we saw the space evolve, they were never met with any issue. For example, when I informed Jarred we were on septic and he couldn't wash his brushes in our sinks, Jarred simply adapted, but did it with a smile on his face. He made the entire process smooth, ensured we were held accountable to certain deliverables (finishes like faucets, door handles, paint colours, etc.) in such a way that ensured we never felt under pressure.
Jarred went the extra mile for us, included us in the design process with the subcontractors, and always checked for satisfaction at various milestones. Jarred may be only one man, but what's in his proverbial tool-chest should not be judged based solely on this. He employs top-notch tradespeople, and does so as an extension of himself and expects from them the same quality work he completes himself. He was a pleasure to deal with and we're happy to recommend him to our family and closest of friends.
I used Lofthouse to help with a house I completely gutted. Jarred shows up with his saws, building materials in his truck and goes to work. Super fast, super tidy when done.
