I'm on vacation for a few days in New York, and I decided to go to this restaurant that had good reviews.
We ordered Pasta (Ravioli) and it was almost raw and tasteless, the truth for being an Italian restaurant, if you can't cook a simple ravioli well better dedicate yourself to something else. My partner ate a duck, very delicious, the waitress at first brought it to him raw, nor did he ask us the cooking point (something basic) but immediately the manager noticed and cooked it more.
I give it 3 stars and not 1 only because the manager was concerned about offering us another dish (due to the poor and poor quality of the ravioli) and they gave us tea and dessert.
In summary, the best thing about the restaurant was how the manager resolved the bad time.

The ricotta, duck sausage pasta, and desserts are unbelievably good. Other dishes, however, lacked flavor. The service was mediocre, at best, with no offers of Parmesan, or cracked pepper, or second beverages for anyone at the table.
For the price point and wait, I was surprised at the lack of service. The food was often bought to us already luke warm, and again - really missed any sort of special touch you d expect from a place at this price point / with this kind waitlist and reputation.

Always a lovely time here- as others have said- it s upscale without being pretentious. The food is delicious and the focaccia bread they serve is to die for. Would definitely recommend. I also highly suggest visiting the hotel spa- Shibui.

From the continuously opening door, the draft of cold air bellowing in, and the propensity of the ever so charming employees to get wine flowing long before food arrives; but the evening becomes magical relatively soon. The food is wonderful, the servers are simply delightful, and the selection of wines is comprehensive and fair.

The food here is incredible. Sometimes I feel like you need to know someone to be treated nicely, but that could be the product f how busy they are. The chicken is amazing...you could spend an entire afternoon eating their bread and drinking their bloody marys. The orrechiette is also very impressive. Finally, an absolute must is the ricotta with truffle honey.

Usually Locanda is fully booked, but we were in the area so walked in to see if there were any cancellation. They were super accommodating and were able to find us a table for 4 in less than 20 mins.
The food is amazing, service is fantastic, and such a beautiful venue. Definitely one of our favorites in NYC!

Food is outstanding. The beet salad is fresh and bursting with flavor, and the portion is good for two people to share before the mains. I got the rigatoni with white veal bolognese it was divine. The veal was rich, the sauce was oozing oil and decadence. I ate about half to two-thirds of it, and I was full and happy.

i have to agree with the majority of reviews here, the food is better than 22. maybe people that like huge portions are haters, but those folks probably don't fit into the small spaces that this place has in spades, from the cramped bar area to the bistro chairs to the packed in tables. on the bright side you get to rub more than elbows with the fabu-ratti that fill the place. decor is disney meets bistro, but at least it's clean.

Nice vibe and pleasantly designed decor. Tried the hangar steak and the eggplant sandwich and was thoroughly disappointed by both. Not that they were bad, but it wasnt great which is what i would have expected after all the hype that surrounded this place, not to mention the $$$. Certainly won't be returning to this place.

I m visiting from Chicago and unfortunately I was served undercooked bloody chicken. The plate was nonchalantly taken away, the meal was removed from my bill and my boyfriend paid for the remainder of the bill. That was unacceptable and something I ve never experienced at any restaurant and I just feel there should have been greater accommodations for such a horrible mistake.

This is one of my wife's and I favorite restaurant in Tribeca, especially before kids. My family just had dinner at Locanda Verde last night with our two toddlers and the food, service and attention continue to be excellent in these unprecedented times. We had two pastas (the truffle pasta special, the lamb ragu, steak and brussel sprouts. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake tart. Our girls can't wait to go back!

This is the best restaurant I ve been to in NYC. It can be for a casual date or party. The pasta is homemade and created for deliciousness in each bite. Exquisite menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Don t get me started on the fresh focaccia bread.

I was exceptionally disappointed with the lack of professional service for breakfast this morning. In the past we have had excellent service and food. This morning, not only could we not get our coffee, but the servers dropped the food, never cleared the table, never inquired how the meal was and failed to even bring a plate for the ricotta.

This restaurant is great serving contemporary Italian food. Staffs are friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the food on the menu. Atmosphere is cool and chill. From now on one of my favorite address in NYC. Every New Yorker knows this restaurant as "the De Niro's restaurant." The artwork on the wall is his. The food is stunning, especially the *Grandmother ravioli*. You cannot really go wrong with any item on the menu. The atmosphere is intimate. The staff is slightly annoying (too many questions too frequently) except the sommelier who is exceptional. The wine list is rich and diverse, all with Italian wines.

A delicious, albeit a splurge, meal is a given here for either brunch or dinner. Specializing in Italian favorites, you'll go back and forth between five different delectable dishes before finally settling on your order. You can't go wrong with any of the pastas. I recommend going with a few people so that you can try a number of different entrees and apps. Definitely a special occasion restaurant, and a good one to take the parents when they come to town.

This is one of our "stand by" restaurants when we want to eat something without prior planning or research. Located in De Niro's hip Greenwich Hotel, Locanda Verde's executive chef, Andrew Carmellini, is almost as famous as De Niro. Dark, rustic elegance is the interior's theme, and we always sit at the large bar. Servers are "continental," with accents compelling you to imagine some chi chi sophisticated place. (They're probably from Bulgaria!)
Food is always very good, if not excellent. Pastas are al dente, with just the correct amount of sauce. There's a "wash" of sauce, not a drowning. Salt Lake City restauranteurs take note!
Wine lists are filled with excellent Italian bottles and tastings. My Fiano was elegant and crisp. Locanda Verde isn't cheap. Our meal, consisting of one meatball slider appetizer, two pastas, one glass of wine and a coca cola, came to $95.00. Hey, it's NYC, and we were in Tribeca. Wadda ya expect!

This place is usually consistent but this Saturday my meal was mediocre at best. We did have the last open reservation slot of the night but that doesn't justify servers checking their watch as you order or food being not meeting usual expectations. If that is the case, don't accept late reservations.

I am a loyal customer. Yesterday, I had breakfast and two things were poor. The waiter was not helpful about the menu or our requests. And equally important, I ask for my omelette to be done soft. And I said it more than once so it would be right.
Unfortunately, it was far from soft. It was well done.
Not something I wanted nor enjoyed.
I hope this feedback is constructive.

Still going strong, we had a terrific dinner with friends in from CA. The bread basket was terrific focaccia with a crisp, salty cheese and herb coating. Spectacularly good edge-reduction! Starters of the large salad with crisp fried sopressata wafers with a crumbly goat cheese dressing was refreshing and inventive. The octopus grilled with potatoes and veggies was an unusual Italian style seafood app. We went with the garlic chicken for two and a whole dorado. The chicken was AMAZING. The only chicken I ve had to match this is Rotisserie Georgette at twice the price. It is rich, juicy, garlicky, salty, herbal, crusty... just spectacularly good. This is more a French prep than Italian, but unquestionably one of the top chicken dishes in NYC. Elemental and satisfying. Cocktails were superb and expertly prepared...their gimlet, which I am something of an expert on, was awesome. They clearly squeeze fresh lime juice, add some gentle sweetness to it with a bit of simple syrup, and it comes together as the ideal gimlet you imagine if you love this basic drink. Tart, sweet, crisp, alcoholic but not overwhelming. A+++.
Service was excellent but not intrusive. Wine service was patient..healthy samples of by the glass selections to be sure you get what you want and pair properly.
No rushing us out of the lively, packed room that is not too loud, and a bill that reflects a top NY trattoria, set in a cool, comfortable room whose decor is hip, modern yet traditional... LV has not slacked off after years of success. This is not the most authentic Italian by any means, but it is a really terrific, fun meal. The bill was $100 pp, including six cocktails, six glasses of wine, but no desert. I do not consider that excessive for NYC. We left an $80tip which was well earned/. Well done!

It's just damn good food, in a damn beautiful space. When it was Ago (first restaurant in the space) - it was terrible. Awful. So, it was incredibly surprising to go back and try again. It's amazing. The only thing that sucks is that it's popular, so be prepared to wait for a table. Put down your name and go across the street to Smith & Mills (no markings) for a drink.

Came here for lunch. Reception asks if I have a reservation, I say no.. He gives a look to the other receptionist, who looks around the room with quite a few empty tables, but says... It'll be 5 min.... This gig used to work several years ago, now it's just plain rude... 2 stars off just for that!!!
Ordered the eggplant sandwich which was good, but the chickpeas on the side were undercooked. Ricotta with toast was flavorful. I really liked their spinach.
Overall, plenty of other great places in the happening TriBeCa with better attitude!

Came here for a late breakfast during our NYC vacation, due to my wife having pinned it on Pinterest. I had the hazlenut-crusted french toast, and she had the lemon curd blueberry pancakes.
We asked for water with lemon, and were offered the choice of bottled water or "icewater". We chose icewater. It came with... no ice. Room temperature, even! That's very European, so.maybe they were going for authenticity? We asked for some ice, and it was of course brought to us immediately. It all melted rapidly in our watercups.
The food was tasty. Only two slices of french toast, on fancy rye bread, with cherries and nuts. Rather small portions, and there was nothing else, no bacon, etc... I guess in these fancier places it's all about delicate balance of flavors and visual appeal. Or somesuch. I probably am not cultured enough to love this place. But you probably will!
