Pasta is very good here, but the desserts and entrees fall short. I got the Sicilian styled cod, and the cod itself tasted dry, but the accompanying sauce wasn't bad. Unfortunately, the panna cotta was unbearably sweet and tasted nothing like an actual panna cotta. I could not even stomach more than two bites. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the server and his only response was to have it cleared away, not even asking why I didn't like or if I wanted to order another dessert instead. For an establishment of this caliber, I'm shocked and disappointed especially after reading all the rave reviews.

The restaurant looks nice and the food is quite good but not exceptional. The big minus was the quality of the service, pressed to order, and be given the bill even before asking for it. We were not offered the desert menu or hot drinks, we arrived at the place at 10.30 pm. Also we were served by 2 or 3 people so no care for the table.

Very nice Italian-American restaurant in Tribecca ... good choice of wines, very cozy and chic setting.
The staff is on top. Especially those who serve us lunch at the bar. The food is good. Very good focaccia and bread ... I highly recommend!

This place gets super busy so get yourself a reservation :)
I prefer to sit at the bar, but as I said it gets packed.
their evening crew is awesome. From hostess to waiters to bartenders. Love them. <3 love love love them. And Food is fantastic, Sheep s Milk Ricotta with sea salt & herbs - Heaven.
Morning crew, NOT so much. Actually its pretty bad.
Hostess that works on the weekends morning shift needs a reality re-check.
I was walking my dogs and wanted to grab a light breakfast at their outside patio, and was rudely and apologetically turned away by a very unprofessional girl, who said that " basically we don't have staff to sit you outside" . I told her that there are people sitting outside and having breakfast RIGHT NOW, so how can you not have staff... to what she responded " basically we only sit them now.. and we basically cant sit you now".
I wanted to Basically smack her basically teeth out, but walked away.
Guess what happened a week or two later... Same thing.
It used to be my usual post dog park breakfast spot, but NO MORE.

We ve been here before for brunch and liked it. I actually preferred it for dinner. The dining room has a great atmosphere and the service is awesome. I have to say the food was particularly good. The pasta was cooked perfectly and tasted spectacular. Deserts were also good. We didn t try the wine list but the margaritas were great.

Book in advance as it s popular. It s certainly not the cheapest place but well worth it.

Amazing food and service. The best restaurant. Unusual flavors, shapes and presentation that will take you on a nice culinary experience that will engage all your senses. If you're hungry, portions will seem small to you but you could always order a side of their fries which is a quite generous portion. Worth the price. Would highly recommend this place!

Great place for some rustic Italian food in a casual setting! I went for brunch and had a lovely time. Do yourself a favor and order the Sheep s Milk Ricotta with truffle honey and burnt orange toast and lemon ricotta pancakes!

Me and my boyfriend had an anniversary dinner here. It is nice when host welcome you with mentioning it, saying congratulations.

We ordered burrata, lamb meatball, pasta(tonnarelli cacio e pepe) and scallops; food was amazing and service was on point. I liked when tables are full and servers get busier, managers were checking on tables and make sure everything was being taking care of.

We both had a fantastic time here, want to go back already!

Way over priced. Mediocre tasting food (scallops only seared one one side? Really?) The worst part was the menu was written, mostly, in Italian and the staff was to "busy" to help us out. Extremely disappointed. Maybe oy was due to me wearing a polo shirt and jeans and not a dress shirt and tie.

A decent spot to see and be seen. Definitely a NYC wait so make sure to make a reservation ahead of time and grab a drink at the bar. I just wish the food lived up to the rest of the experience but it was just OK.

Owned by Robert De Niro who is also involved with Nobu and Tribeca Grill. Best ricotta cheese ever. Octopus is great as well as the duck which is served sliced with a sweet sauce. If possible get the squid ink pasta. It s out of this world fantastic.

A hot spot, very packed 3 deep at the bar with 20 to 30 somethings, really noisy and it was early in the evening, about 5:30. The room rambles and they pack you in at very close tables. Asked about the big room in the back, was told they were communal tables. Food was pretty good, not great. First course small plates were interesting reading from the menu, but some were good, others not so good.

Cool restaurant by business partner Robert De Niro. Service and food were delicious, the cocktails could be better. The air conditioning disturbed us, there is a permanent passage in the aisle, so we have implemented and the women all had jackets.

I can't say that I don't LOVE this spot. The service is top notch and the food will always please. The separation of bustling bar crowd to the dark, intimate dining area is why I love it here. Best of both worlds with some of the most amazing desserts EVER. Order with out measure and try everything on the menu. All portions are shareable and exciting to eat with friends or significant other.

Loved it. The service was impeccable. The lamb was amazing. And the fat reduction really highlighted the dish in a way most places cover the flavor up.

The blue crab app was amazing.

The decor with lights and mirrors hung up by leather is very cool.

My only issue is they used bitter lettuce that tastes like it was harvested to late. But a small issue for a great place.

This place is awesome. The decor and vibe at this place really sets you up for what is about to be an excellent meal. The bar area is well lit (not bright, but sexy lighting) which makes for a great backdrop while sipping one of their cocktails. They must change their drink menu with the season-when I went in the winter I had a great smoky bourbon drink. I was there in the beginning of spring and sipped on a gin and cucumber cocktail that went perfectly with the warm air.

On to the food--I was really afraid that this was going to be heavy Italian food. And it was, in some cases, but that was okay. For the most part, you get clean bright flavors. We had a pasta with chili, yuzu and garlic that was out of this world. We also shared the duck with kumquats...AMAZING.

This place is just as good for a date spot as it is for dinner with your closest friends. It is a jovial place with great food.

The food was great. The staff is very talented, but stretched thin. Feels like they struggle keeping up with the volume and the quality suffers just a little. We will go back to give it another shot. Maybe not without reservations.

Good wine list, nice ambient , use to like that place very much, last time it was simply disappointing, fish was not fresh, oxidized or reheated ... waiter was too kind and cleared it from the bill on his own but bad fish is a no go with all the respect,

As I type this... Locanda Verde is my favorite restaurant in the US. The food is really good but not over-the-top in style or presentation. The service is ultra confident but never intrusive. The room itself is very understated but at night becomes candle-lit with groovy music and romantic as hell.

Excellent place! We came here for a holiday party and reserved the back room for a big group. Before we all sat down for dinner, the waiter walked around with hors d'oeuvres, including my favorite truffle cheese balls (they may not call that on the menu), bartender also made excellent french 75 which was great. In terms of entrees, they were all pretty good, heavy but filling. Overall very good experience!

I was excited about trying it based on the menu and reviews, but came out quite disappointed. The sandwiches we got for lunch where decent enough, but the side salads and broccoli rabe were just lazily prepared and tasted terrible.

Honestly, very overpriced for what's delivered and the service also leaves a lot to be desired. There are much better choices in the area with much better execution for what is put on the menu.

All that said, the wine list looks pretty good, so maybe that's the saving grace here? Just don't come looking for food prepared with any care or thought.
