These pisco sours are my favorite alcoholic beverage that isn't beer or wine. I first ate at the La Mar in Lima, Peru and this location is just as good. Great ceviche, causas, and empanadas, too.

This place is absolutely delicious. It's not quite authentic Peruvian... But rather it's fusion, which imho makes it even better in this case. the outdoor terrace on the back offer a nice view of the bay as well. The service was also excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant anytime.

If you come to San Fran, try the seafood, right? Cebiche is a whole new world of flavours, and La Mar Cebicheria is a great intro - next stop Lima. The catch of the day made for a great cebiche mixto but the icing on the cake was the causa nikkei .... yummmm.

I went here for happy hour, and I thought it was good. The prices for the drinks were decent. I wish I could say the same for the food. My ceviche was really small. I took a bite and it was gone.

The seating is first come, first serve, so it can get cramped and competitive really quickly. I was fortunate to get seats for me and my three girlfriends, especially since we didn't come at the same time.

I went here for lunch many years ago, and I thought the ceviche was delicious back then, so it's nice to know that they've been consistent.

It's a beautifully decorated restaurant with great views of the East Bay. If you're craving Peruvian food and a hip atmosphere, then this place is for you. Otherwise, if you are on a budget, this place, and perhaps the entire Embarcadero area, is not the place you'd want to be hungry.

Very good restaurant, very good authentic food, and even some vegetarian choices. Loved their tacu tacu. Nice employees who are ready to help. Fast service, and nice atmosphere.
Quite noisey, but that's just how it is San Fransisco.
The only bad thing I can say about La Mar is that they didn't have a big enough selection of non-alcoholic drinks.
4 stars from me.

Great service with great food! For an early lunch, we were seated immediately. The crab cocktail is delicious and the mint strawberry nojito is the right level of sweet and sour. For an entree, you can never go wrong with their clam chowder. This is usually my family's go-to place for Pier 39.

Great spot to bring guests to SF. This is a legit great quality Peruvian restaurant -- one of only 2 US-based outlets of this restaurant from Lima! They can accommodate groups, and usually have reservations with relatively short notice. It's a little on the pricey side, and I'd suggest ordering more than you think you might need if you're really hungry (portions aren't very big).

First Peruvian restaurant I've had in the US that truly captured the food I had in Lima. Mixtoche and beef hearts were fantastic! I'm not sure what dessert we got but it had cotton candy and was super yummy. I wish this place existed in my hometown

Loved the ambience, the food and the courteous staff. I had a tuna chevice and scallops and both the dishes were delicious. The chevice was buttery and melted in my mouth. The scallops were cooked to perfection. Loved the wine, the tres leche dessert and everything about it.

This place serves great Peruvian food and has a nice outdoor patio to sit by the bay on a sunny day. Most of all though it s a place to have one of their signature cocktails like a piscina sour during happy hour. And even better if you order it with the plantain chips.

Really unique sauces on light fresh seafood. Ceviche is as awesome as you'd expect for a Peruvian place.

Nice bar area up front that serves food too. It looks out on the SF Embarcadero.

The restaurant in back has windows looking out at the bay and a lively, colorful, atmosphere with super friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Great restaurant, the food is colorful, spiced and bursting with flavor. There's a lot of verity, even if you're looking for something other than seafood. Expensive, as most restaurants on the pier are, but it's worth it. Highly recommended!

The ambience is beautiful and the presentation is lovely, however our servers switched mid-meal and there was miscommunication throughout our experience because of the switch. The server we ended up closing the bill with took a (really) long time attending to our party of 2 since he was also working a party of 18 next to us.

Amazing Peruvian food - recommended and 'approved' by my Peruvian friend and her family. Not cheap, but definitely worth going. Plus its close to the Pier, and you can enjoy going to a lovely walk after dinner

Friendly and attentive team, good drinks, great food. The views of the east bay from the patio were beautiful too. If you like bourbon try the el viejo. It s the equivalent of an old fashioned mixed with a manhattan. Delicious. Food... MY GOODNESS! Try the cibiche trio. Fantastic. Reminded me of Peru. The lomo saltado was so good. The steak was perfectly cooked. Nice and tender. The arroz al mar was delicious too. Highly recommend checking this place out. Worth the prices. I really don t think you can go wrong with your order.
