Perhaps it's better as a rehab facility? I wouldn't know... For a resident who resides long-term who's completely dependent on another for service, it's POOR. Low quality food. High turnover rate with staff. Very inconsistent care (brief changes, answering call lights, etc). Keep looking!

I have to disagree with some of the negative reviews I see here. I have found the staff to be very attentive, friendly and organized. My family member has improved 100% since coming here gravely ill from another less qualified assisted living facility. I would recommend Livonia Woods. The physical rehab and occupational therapy is top notch.
Horrible!!!!short staffed and un attentive. If you care for your loved one take them anywhere else. If your loved one doesn't have you there all day, they are on their own. They didn't take care of my father and the doctor kept telling me to sign for hospice though he was still ok . This way they could be rid of him. Today is 6 years anniversary of his death there and he suffered. Each time I would go, I had to clean his mouth out because no one else would. I believe he suffocated there on the phlegm buildup in his mouth. They said he just passed. He was singing to me two days prior to passing and was fine. Horrible and RUDE staff!!! Manager wss the worst!!! They too put on a good show. Lazy people!!!!
This place is a flipping joke the staff only cares about what time they get off and whomever runs this place is only concerned about the bottom line , if you hate a family member put them here!! I'm utterly discussed with this facility period !!
Mom just came home from a week and a half stay for PT and OT rehab. We chose Livonia Woods for their reputation and no covid cases. They must be short staffed; more than once mom rang for the nurse and waited nearly an hour for anyone to come to her room. Although she had two negative covid tests during her 2 weeks in the hospital, she still spent her entire time quarentined to her room. So because of covid she was not allowed in the PT room. Instead the therapist came to her room. The shining star of this place was David, the activities director. He answered the phone when I called (mom had been waiting 45 mins for the nurse). He came to her room and was extremely pleasant and helpful. She checked out early because she'll get more PT and attention at home.
It took me a while to post this but we had a horrible experience a few years ago. I can only imagine what happened while no one was there . The nurses and dr. Were very rude. When you asked about medical treatments and medications they gave attitude. I truly hate these places and this one is just as bad as the rest of them
Worked there got hurt and put on light duty, soon as I inquired why I was not on the schedule I was told they had no light duty to offer me and fired two days later Which was also a week before my ninety days was up. They never have any supplies, vital machines never work!!!! And they act like they care about their employees but really don t
Worked there as agency & was treated terrible several times. Was lied on several times. The house keepers get an attitude when you tell them there are ants all in the rooms. They don t clean the rooms every day like most nursing homes. The residents in the room together share a toilet and it has a ring on the inside of the toilet. Their bedside tables are filthy. I always asked for bleach wipes to at least straighten up a little bit. The Laundry Lady is very rude as well. I was DNR d ( do not return ) because a patient who can t talk was trying to express to me what she wanted out of a drawer. I pointed to every object in the drawer and she said no to all items. I proceeded on with work, next thing I know their restorative aide TONYA is saying don t worry it ll be handled to the patient, I asked what will be handled? Because i didn t do anything that i shouldn t have. I could sense where she was going. Next thing I know I m dnr. And the residents that i had there liked me and their families did as well. In a meeting the adon RITA even admitted that they have so many empty beds and low census because quality of care has went down. They only have 67 residents with a lot of empty rooms. They swear they are so perfect but when I came in not knowing any one. Their were residents with feces under their nails and their nails were longer than normal & they were touching and eating their food like this. I went out of my way to do nail care. And also they never have linen really. Me personally as a woman I wouldn t want to be cleaned with WIPES all the time. I like soap, water, & wash cloths! It s just sad what happened because i know how hard of a worker I am and how I take care of people. It s seems as if the good ones always go & the bad/ evil people are kept. But it s ok! Blessings
This facility has gone down since ownership by Wellspring. The new doctor - Nandish and nurses are not as knowledgeable and attentive. One doctor on staff for an entire facility is crazy. While we understand this is a v difficult time in ones life, you still are due treatment with empathy, dignity and respect. Wellsprings /Livonia Woods clearly places profits before people; the road coming into the place is horrible, dirty beds, the quality of food is horrible-feeding residents cold hot dogs daily, peanut butter n jelly sandwiches, lift equipment breaks down they won't fix it, personnel is stressed out because Wellspring won't hire appropriate number of CNA's to assist with residents. Look elsewhere - they have run the place down. I'm not sure what it takes for the State of Michigan to come in and fine them or make adjustments but they need to get involved.
