We were there for the brunch, it was an amazing experience. The food was fresh and very taste. It was my first time in a Peruvian restaurant I couldn't like it more. Thanks to the chef for such a nice experience. We loved it.

Beautiful food in every sense! After enjoying eating in the restaurant for years, I'm glad they've now begun delivering as well, and that they've found a way to translate the aesthetics of their dishes to disposable containers that can survive a bumpy courier ride.

We had a lovely staff dinner from The Rathbone hotel in Lima on Tuesday night.
The atmosphere and food were awesome!
Staff are very good and friendly.
We will recommend The Venison and The Lamb are really delicious!
House wine is also special.

Bit surprised that this restaurant has a Michelin star. Apart from the ceviche, every dish we ordered lack seasoning and flavour. Staff were rude and inattentive. Don't think we will come back and will definitely not recommend.

We went to try the new Lima Recommends menu. The service was distinctly average, bordering on poor. Our service was just fairly slow, but at least the food was good. The table next to us had long delays and the wrong dishes brought to them. Not the standard you would expect from this calibre of restaurant. If the service improves substantially it would be worth the money, but it is very expensive for the level of service!

Very simple set up. I expected a bit more given the prices. Food was very nice, but stay away from the octopus. Served and charged as a main course, but the size of a starter! Service very slow as well.

Firstly, the food was fantastic - tasty and well presented. Plus they catered well enough for my coeliac girlfriend despite not having a gluten free menu.

I ve marked Lima down because of the speed of service. The place was not overtly busy yet everything seemed to take an age. In the end, we couldn t have dessert as the kitchen had closed, essentially being penalised for their slow service. Given it was a birthday celebration, not ideal!

Tried Lima on a whim after several underwhelming fine dining experiences elsewhere and it has fully restored my faith in the pleasures of a high end meal. Based in Fitzrovia and sporting a Michelin star, the prices are high (although far from the steepest I've seen).

However, every single dish was well executed and the standout highlights were the beef two ways (Pachamanca Duo) and the braised octopus which was both tender and beautifully chargrilled. The parfait, with Amazonian chocolate, was also enjoyably rich without being too sweet.

It was a genuinely pleasurable dining experience from start to finish, with attentive service, a casual but we'll turned out interior and a relaxed ambience.

Although I have eaten their set menus for the last two years, I can say that there's nothing really outstanding apart from some of their main courses and side orders like the corn cake which is something very delightful.

First was served with a tuna tartare as appetizer, not even close to any tuna tartare I have eaten before. A totally different style and taste.

I had the duck tiradito for starter, duck carpaccio and it was rubbery, it said with a pachamanca sauce and algarrobina. I could taste the algarrobina as the ones you can easily buy in Peruvian supermarkets, but the pachamanca sauce? it is just words on its own... there wasn't any pachamanca flavour on the whole plate. Honest food, please.

The main course, Lomo Saltado served with mash? mash potato??

"Saltado" is a term that can only be achieved flaming in a wok. Any chef will know that. That's why it is served with potato wedges.

I don't care if they are trying to improve or having a take on this XIX century signature Peruvian dish, but you don't serve Lomo Saltado with mash, it is just pure and simply wrong.

Dessert wise...it was highly visual, artistic, something you expect to see only on Michelin establishments. However was far to sweet and sour, the biscuit base was too hard, inedible.

One of London's newest hotspots for Peruvian dining delivering a wide selection of menu options, many of which `i have not seen in London prior - certainly not at this level of quality. I've no hesitation in encouraging others to take the time out and try something different. With a good balance of fish options, many of which are somewhat spicy, I've give them 9/10 with a 'must visit' to all my friends.

I visited Lima for the first time last night for my girlfriend's 30th birthday. Both of us were excited to try Lima given its positive reviews and coveted Michelin star status. Sadly however, the experience was dreadful and was a million miles away from other more established restaurants in London. To start with the waiter who took our order informed us that it was 'tapas style', which was slightly confusing as the menu was clearly laid out in courses. Nevertheless, we took his advice and ordered appetisers, starter and main courses at the same time. We also ordered a bottle of the Peruvian Sauvignon which was ok but overpriced. After 30 minutes wait there was still no sign of any food so I decided to get up and ask the waiter for some bread. At this point we noticed dishes starting to pile up on the pass thanks to the large mirror opposite the open kitchen. The food continued to sit under the hot lights for about 15-20 minutes before being brought over and dumped onto our table. Note, the dishes barely fit onto the table, not exactly tapas style! At this point we had a sea bream ceviche (a starter) that had warmed up to the point that it was flaccid and sweaty. This was combined with a duck starter and beef main course that were lukewarm with a thick skin over the sauces; it brought back bad memories of school dinners. They had also forgotten the other main course which was black cod, which sadly remained on the pass, drying out and dying under the lights. The restaurant manager eventually noticed the cod and had the audacity to try and serve it to us. He was swiftly told where to go.
In summary, the food was ok (edible) but far from being Michelin star quality. We ate it too quickly as we just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. The restaurant manager did remove the cod and a side salad from the bill but by this time the evening had already been ruined. We wish we had gone to Pizza Express a couple of doors down. Never again!

Excellent Peruvian food with a nice modern twist in its presentation. The pisco sour kicked off the meal very nicely, and their ceviches and octopus starters are a must-try. For mains, the suckling pig and Amazonian fish dishes are both very tender and well done. The staff were knowledgeable and courteous, however overall experience was four stars as one of the staff members was too pushy in trying to upsell.

Really hit and miss.

Really hit and miss.

The complementary amuse bouche - chilli and corn bread, with carrot soup was great 5/5.
Tostada was nice, but you can get far better empanada elsewhere 3/5.
Cod was lovely, but the blue potatoes fairly tasteless and too firm 3/5.
Lamb was very well cooked but the flavours and accompaniments were underwhelming 3/5.
Side salad was interesting and tasty 4/5.

The entire meal was under seasoned.

Service when we arrived and there was only one other table filled was good, but as soon as it got busier service became very slow.

One can see what they are going for - if it were cheaper it'd be okay. At these prices one expects better though. Unless we get a personal recommendation in the future (suggesting it's improved) we won't be back - there are too many other better places and places to discover

Pretty high end Peruvian food, so if you're looking for rustic dishes, I suggest you go elsewhere. Great Pisco Sours (unsurprisingly) and Ceviche is fantastic, but again - if you're looking for classic ceviche, then this isn't the place.

Presentation and service are both very good indeed.

Overrated - expensive for what it is. Food was okay but nothing too exciting. Overpowering sauce on the tuna starter, not enjoyable. Really average - desserts were the biggest let down! Tiny portions and just very uninspiring. All in all a forgettable experience

Food was good, but the service was terrible. It took 30 minutes to bring our wine, having reminded them 3 times what we ordered, they still brought the wrong wine, and after our first course was finished. They forgot 2 starters and after telling them, brought them after our mains. Still no offer to take the tip off the bill.

This was the second time I visited Lima, and it definitely stands upto expectation. Will soon be returning. Great tapas style menu and excellent service. Only complaint could be the table were too close and we had to squeeze through the tables tonget in/out, just a minor nuisance.

Absolutely incredible experience. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and on the ball when it came to speedy service. We had the 6 course brunch taster set meal and each course was impressive -- the best dishes were the mixed ceviches, beef anticuchos, and fried chicken. A surprisingly relaxed atmosphere for a Michelin star restaurant. Will definitely be eating here again. Thank you Lima! x

Not a single negative aspect. Food is great, flavourful, clearly high quality, and Francesca the waitress is lovely!
Probably a couple of pounds overpriced for some items but hey it's central London, expected, nothing to complain about.
I will definitely be back!

Having never eaten Peruvian cuisine before, it was a new experience for me the first time that I went to Lima restaurant with recommendation of a friend, but since being there, I can honestly say that it is the best food I have ever eaten, such a variety of food and different flavours that I have never tried before. Not only was the food delicious but the service and staff were wonderful and helpful, overall making this experience very enjoyable and a place that I would definitely recommend again to my friends and family. Also ask for the Chilean and Uruguyan waitresses! Wouldn't have been the same without them!

Delicious food, cool laidback atmosphere. Excellent drinks a ver good locations. Really central. Eat some the ceviches and causas, to die for. All my friends rave about it. I am Peruvian and give faith that their food is as good as the best in Peru. Delicate, upgraded versions of Peruvian street delights.

A thoroughly disappointing meal, only made up for by the ceviche which was beautifully presented and delicious.

Cheese is my Achilles heel, however the overt use of cheese in a lot of their dishes was disappointing a took away from the flavour and textures of the dish, with a gritty texture and domination of subtle flavours. The octopus was also disappointing, while presented beautifully, did not think the black olive fluid gel matched or complemented the dish.

The waitress also knocked over my glass of wine onto my leg and bag, however was absolutely professional about the incident and have no complaints over how it was handled or rectified.

The food was really good, no doubt about that. However, the price was super high. Compared to what you pay, the food is not good enough, but if you have loads of cash, this place is great
