Best free tour in Ottawa! I'm biased because the library is my area of expertise, but in fact, the Library of Parliament is one of the most beautiful libraries I've ever attended. Best free tour in Ottawa! I am biased as librarianship is my field of expertise but truly the library of parliament is one of the most beautiful libraries I have ever stepped into. The tour of Parliament is a great way to learn more about Canadian history especially how the government and legislative branch operates, I highly recommend it!
In 2018 we took part in one of the last tours. We were very impressed with the library, although it is not really old, it has a charisma. The interior design is reminiscent of the reading room of the British Museum. No less impressive from the outside with 16 buttresses they remind of a medieval chapter house.
Riveting and filled with history. A must visit for all.
The ticket center is far away. You have to return tickets back to the center if you don't want to go inside.

Closed during 10 years starting from 2019!!: complete restoration, with checking and numbering of each stone brick!! The young hosts at the reception will probably visit it with their kids
We didn't get to tour inside. The EN tours were full for the day. Was so disappointed. Walked around & appreciated this stunning building from the outside.

People aren't exaggerating when they say the Library of Parliament is the most beautiful room in Canada. It is beyond breathtaking, every Canadian should have the opportunity to see it.
