My granddaughter and I had a delightful time there today. We loved the fairy houses on the tree trails. We made boats out of tree bark and leaves and had a great time floating them down the many streams throughout the park. Disappointing she was unable to enjoy the children's garden including the tree house and International Village. Covid19 sucks. Certainly glad children are so flexible.

Only been at Christmas time but it was really beautiful! We had free tickets so I don t know if I would pay full price to do it again but we had fun with our two nieces. I loved that they had a fire going and hot chocolate to sell. The tree in the green house was beautiful!

Excellent Botanical Garden to spend 1-3hrs time with friends and family and enjoy strolling in the park or just picnic or even get inside the dome and experience amazing display of Orchids and other exquisite flowers.
We visited in Spring Apr 1 so not much bloom but pretty good Tulips, Daffodils etc.
The Store is bit expensive but overall Garden is value for money.
Well maintained paths, nicely arranged flowers and small trek to take you through forest patch.

Loved the Garden.

The lights and displays get every year less and less spectacular. Not worth the amount of money you have to pay. We were done within an hour. And Van Gogh did not have his sunflowers in a garbage container. I liked the flowers on the ground and the large Xmas tree but what about the display over the large water part...Very little foto options with the gardens being this dark and barren.

My wife and I discovered this little gem of a garden when looking for a place for a stretch break on a run between NC and DE. This is a beautiful garden with many unique plants, sculptures, and a conservatory. We particularly liked the set of Forrest paths. We recommend it as a unique stopping place off the beaten path!

My family have been members for several years now and this is one of the greatest bargains in Richmond. If you have young children they will love the kids area. In addition to all the lovely foliage there is a library, dining, special events, a conservatory and lots of things to see and do. Love this place!

Really impressive grounds and gardens, enjoyed walking around. Most of the pathways are big enough for strollers and there's lots of things for the kids to do. Could definitely have spent the better part of an afternoon here.

We always love the garden, so it was exciting to come back after not getting out much over the last several months. We were SO impressed by the organization and precautions during the Fridays Alfresco! The process of checking and picking up our preordered food and wine was very smooth, all employees and volunteers were friendly and helpful, entrances and exits were clear and easy to follow, and the garden was magical as always. Our evening was so much fun, and it was easily the safest and most distanced I have felt going anywhere. Thanks for all of your hard work!

Beautiful gardens and lakes. The views are amazing. There is also a butterfly garden but you have to make sure you come before 5. Also if you are a student you can get the 1 year membership for half the price. Totally worth it. It is also very family friendly with places for children to play in the water.

This is a beautiful place. Last time I visited during Christmas Eve and that was amazing.. Beautifully decorated with lights and it was a fantastic experience.

Visited it again today on the fourth of July 2017. It's free admission today and it is fully crowded but the staff and volunteers were so helpful that it remained yet another memorable day.

Definitely worth a visit.

Also included pics from my Christmas visit..

Beautiful evening, COVID-19 has taken away from past year's joys but they put on a beautiful display in spite of what we are all facing. It brought some peace and beauty to the difficult times.

Lewis Ginter Botnical Garden is a dream destinatio...

Lewis Ginter Botnical Garden is a dream destination for lover birds. Or just friends and family looking to visit a place with a nice big garden with tons of decorations. Pricing was fair at about $11 per adult (well worth it), and plenty of parking all around. I highly suggest visiting at night like we did to see the fabulous lights.

The staff were all friendly and there were plenty of sights to be seen. Starting out, you're greeted with a fountain nicely covered in lights (as with most things in the garden). The best part is that you'll notice there's not just one path to explore the garden. Like an open sandbox video game, you can choose various paths to explore before reaching your destination. This made it incredibly fun to explore as there were many things to see. If you're not thorough, it might take 2 rounds before you cover everything!

As you walk along the paths, you see lots of nice areas where you can't help, but photograph. Truly a sight to be seen. Nice walkways, a bridge across the waters that was lit up brightly, a big tree house that was decorated with disco-like lighting, and many children's book themed decorations like Jack and the Giant Bean Stalk or Charlotte's Web. Truly too much packed in there to list all of them. As a bonus, in case you weren't familiar with the story, there was a label underneath so you could know.

They did have a large building, I'm assuming the main point of the botanical garden, that was absolutely beautiful. You walk inside and you're greeted with a few large tree-like plants, a fountain, and various rooms to explore. All wrapped in white lighting. You continue exploring and you find props for an hold hut/house, more gardens, a train set for decorated after Thumbelina, and a very large Christmas tree that has been fantastically decorated.

I seriously can't imagine how long it must have taken them to put all of this together. Fantastic destination. My boyfriend isn't much of a nature guy, but this place had him in awe and amazement. Best place for a lovers, best place for plant lovers, best place for garden lovers, all around a must-see. If you haven't been here yet, you're doing yourself a disfavor. I can't recommend this place enough.

Phenomenal garden! Cannot say enough about how beautiful it is. We greatly enjoyed the dynamic sculptures. It's a temporary exhibit so if you can get there soon, do! If not in person, they have online tours available for $10 a few times this month.

Wow, amazing and beautiful beyond words. The children were mesmerized the whole two hours. We had spent four hours during the day enjoying the gardens too. We had lunch in the Tea House and my picky eaters ate their entire meal and my salad was wonderful. What an amazing chef. I would like to take a moment and thank the people who returned my purse (left by a bench) to an employee. :). Everyone have a great Thanksgiving.

Great place to take kids in the summer, complete with water sprinkler fun. Be prepared to do some walking, though. The gardens were beautiful, volunteers at each venue were super nice and helpful. It can get hot, though. We forgot a shirt and had to run back to retrieve it, and while the rest of my party waited in the lobby and AC, the lady working inside was very anxious, almost rude about shuffling the others in my party out before I got back - one of which had mobility issues. In all fairness, it was closing time, although we were not the last to leave.

I went on New Year's Day to see the Holiday Lights...

I went on New Year's Day to see the Holiday Lights and decorations. I was really impressed with the beautiful assortment and variety of lights and decorations on display. There was a lot of creativity and thought put behind their light display, and holiday decor. For example, there were lights in the shapes of animals that were part of story book themes, like the Tortoise and the Hare. Also, I thought the plants on display in their Conservatory were inspiring reminders of the beauty that the Earth can create. The winter holiday theme was continued inside the Kelly Education Center Building, with an elaborate model train set up. That brought back fond memories of the model train that I had going around my Christmas tree as a child. If one is hungry or wants something to drink, there is a dining area with various food and drink items for sale. I was very happy that they sold Hot Cocoa as the day I went was very cold, and it did my body good to ingest something hot and sweet. And before leaving, if one would like to purchase a souvenir from their visit, there is a gift shop stocked with a variety of Botanical Garden themed products. I will definitely will be returning for another visit. I look forward to seeing what plants will be on display during the Spring and Summer months.
