A treasure of LA--50 free evening concerts every summer! Family-friendly, big variety of music styles, new cement dancefloor in front of the stage (used to be dusty dirt), food vendors. Bring a picnic blanket or folding chairs to relax on the grass. It runs on the loud side (like most music events), so I recommend earplugs, too! Also please bring a donation (not required but much appreciated) to help keep this beautiful series going! (There used to be another one in Pasadena also, but they had funding issues so that one ended in 2017.) There are portapotties with handwashing stations. There is a playground behind the bandshell. It starts at 7pm and ends at 10, and it's best to clear out of the park then as it can be a little rough at night. Meters are free after 7pm and on Sundays. Street parking can be hard to find, especially for popular bands or on weekends...a couple friends have turned around and left when they couldn't find parking after searching half an hour. I heard there are a couple parking structures a few blocks away but I don't know where they are, so you may want to look that up in advance.

Pros: Free music concerts & community based fairs in the park to promote dental, health care, local businesses.

Cons:The park maintenance needs improvement. The grounds are often littered with trash, homeless emcampments, feces and urine.

The pavillion is a trip back in time to when people congrigated for the live experience.Probably the lis tening triumph of its day, it uses its shape and the bowllike shape of the park to create a nice sound with any genre.the place itself, while still not a nice place to visit is a far throw from its crack and violence of the eighties and nineties.Enjoy yourself but always remember where your at...

Cool outdoor venue at MacArthur Park. Free concerts during the summer!
Wish they had more parking and better access to the restroom. They locked the gates around them almost as soon as the show ended.

Last night my husband and I drove up from Orange County to celebrate a friend's birthday at the Boogaloo Assasins concert here. It was fantastic! The Levitt Pavilion has great accoustics! There was plenty of room to dance, a kids activity area, food vendors, free bottles of Sparkling Ice and information from vendors and community organizations.

The downside for us was trying to find a parking space. It took my husband about an hour to find a space,!! There was a lot going on last night: a free Salvadoran Festival in MacArthur Park, a film shoot somewhere near the park, probate parties in nearby venues - a normal August evening on LA, lo My advice is to take public transit or get a ride share, if you can.l.

Levitt Pavillion or La Concha del McArtur already has a history of being the scene of many events but the one that stands out the most throughout the summer is 50 concerts and many groups from different countries visit us that bring music of all genres. All ages enjoy the outdoors under the shade of the Pines and the breeze that refreshes those very hot days and every year more people come to enjoy the heat of summer; unfortunately last year we had to celebrate summer due to the crisis I hope that this year we will once again enjoy good health and lots of music.

So much fun! This is a great venue with great free concerts all summer. If you plan on being there for a while bring a blanket or chairs. It is in/right next to MacArthur Park so leave valuables at home and wear closed toes shoes. There are tons of security guards they keep a close eye on everyone and intervene quickly if anyone gets out of hand. That being said the security people and venue staff are very nice.

I was impressed with the venue, its outdoors, and safe, something you couldn't say back in the day. Went to see the "Slackers" and had such a great time, I brought my co-worker with me and he enjoyed himself as well. After the show we headed over to Punky Reggae Party at LA Cita. Overall a great and unforgettable night.

I love going to this park. It's a hidden oasis in the middle of busy LA!! I don't live too far from here so it's super convenient. I bring my dog and we like to lay out on the grass. I sometimes bring a book to read, or my laptop or just lay and take in all the nature.

It was great! Got to see Western Standard Time Ska Orchestra for the first time and we really enjoyed it. Plus the summer concerts are free and we got to be all the way to the front. Really nice experience! Highly recommend it for the summer evenings because they have different kind of concerts there for free. Plus they were giving away free reusable bags! That was neat too

hands down one of the best place to go to on thursday afternoons. they often host music festivals for free of charge. open to the public of all ages. have been attending the ska shows here for over 6 years and have never been disappointed. very easy commute if using metro lines blue/red/purple. no alcohol or drugs.
