We rented a place here that was right on the water and had spectacular views. We chartered a fishing trip with an independent fisherman. After fishing, we pulled right up to the dock at Leonard's and the guys came out to get our fish and start to filet it right there on the spot. The lodge also flash froze out fish and put it in vacuum sealed packaging. We then went into the bush for a few days and the lodge kept our fish for us until we returned. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to a friend.

The lodging was clean. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and that all of our needs were met. Beautiful grounds and the fish processing facility was efficient and did a wonderful job. I would, without hesitation, stay at Leonard s landing on my next visit.

Amazing experience, beautiful area, friendly people and staff. Fishing was just so-so (that's sarcasm).

The hospitality here was second to none. There were some glitches in our trip plans that arose unexpectedly upon our arrival. Julie, and the staff at Leonard s worked their tails off to make our trip to Yakutat a memorable, and great experience! This was our first time to Yakutat, and Leonard s Landing. If we make another trip to this place, we will definitely stay at Leonard s Landing again. It is a great place, with a wonderful location right on the water.

I've stayed in yakutat Alaska 12 times now. I stayed at all The Lodges Glacier Lodge yakutat Lodge and Leonard's Landing. Leonard's is still my go-to place. Especially the cabins on the water for large groups. Fantastic customer service and has Wi-Fi albeit relatively weak at times.

Really pleasant staff. Unlike a lot of Alaska, everything works as you might expect. Gorgeous view from cabin. Big halibut.

This used to be a great place but now there is a "new management team". So if you like to spend thousands of dollars to be treated like dirt this is the place for you. We were never welcomed, we never received a smile or a polite inquiry as to how our trip was going; but the new management team did give us plenty of condescending remarks, rude behavior and outright personal insults! Not surprisingly that attitude has permeated the staff as well, particularly the boat captains. They seem to be in a contest as to who can be the most rude to paying customers. There are however some very good lodges in the area. Glacier Bear Lodge is a nice place. Mark at Yakutat Charter Boat Company is the best halibut captain ever and has a great brand new lodge. And the river guides at Yakutat Lodge are incredible.

Just a dream! Great scenery, great fishing and perfect lodge with everything you need for a very fair price! The duplex waterfront cabin was a hit with an unbeatable view! Very good and family care from Cheryl and the rest of the team! Thank you, we'll be back!

My Dad and 2 other guy pairs loved to discover this WW2 big runway but NO cruise ship dock in this tiny town of YAKUTAT.
We flew all day from SJ to SeaTac to Anchorage and then turn around back down to YAKUTAT. Alaska Airlines service up there reeks, sending our bags out to the end of the Aleutians and stealing our flash frozen 50# boxes of fish.
It took years to find the best halibut and salmon fishing guide in the Southeast, Capt. Mark Sappington.
Very professional and eager to catch ,not just wet lines with drunken "stay and make it pay".
You pay full price and full tip for no catches all day, in that weird state of Alaska!! So many fishing guides that are substandard!! Beware.
And we stayed in lots of expensive dumps, usually run by alcoholics.
So I highly recommend Leonard's, unless the dentists are there steelhead fishing the Situk River.
The location on the main harbor is better than the cannery harbor place.
The food is good; this is very important as it can get very cold and rough just offshore. Bring lots of Bonine seasick pills !!

Nice accomodation's and Annette is very nice but the grey bearded lodge owner didn't smile or say hello to any of us the entire week. I politely asked him to move his van which was blocking ours in and got no verbal response , just a dirty look.
Picking your fish up after processing was a giant clusterf### , Fishing is excellent which brought the score up a notch.

Amazing hospitality at Leonard s, felt like I was at home even while I was away from home. Yakutat is an amazing place, I hope it stays that way forever. It s changed my way of life and thinking for sure in one trip alone. Great people, great fishing, humbling nature of Gods Country, great memories...
