Went for an intake and the lady doing the intake was texting the whole time very dismissive answering phone calls and just didnt seem to want to actually help and that I was bothering her day as she said "we are very busy and may not even take you " will not return nor will I send or take family here needs to close also depressing atmosphere sorry
Don't come here with children expecting actual help from this facility. Take your kids to Toledo or Ann arbor before they mess them up.
They were more focused on sedation then treating my depression.
Subpar. They could do better but dont. They have hardly any doctors, or therapy, and if there is therapy the waiting list is months long; along with waits to see a real doctor. You are just a number that gets lost. I wouldn't recommend.
It is horribly difficult for those in need to reach out for help. Considering the stigmatisms associated with treatment from mundane depression to a general anxiety caused by living situations it's important that staff be welcoming to those that seek help.
After 20 min on the phone, I was sadly transferred without answers and when requesting specific details (Ex. Does your facility treat X disorder?) the operators instructed that only after a paid visit and evaluation for criteria acceptance could I then be considered for help. When asked again the specific, 'Does your facility treat X disorder?' they responded, "I assume that's part of behavioral." "Yes...it is, do you know if your faculty has any successful treatment of this disorder?" "You'd have to come in for a screening before hand...and"
I thanked them for their time and hung up.
I fear...Lenawee Community Mental Health Authority is too accustomed to dealing with the medical community and not with patients. They appear to be detached from reasonable questions with direct answers.
I had great hopes for a local service to help resolve these issues of mental health but instead I am again forced to seek out help in the more developed and personal areas of Ann Arbor and Toledo.
I am disappointed that any medical professionals and their support staff would be as cold and callous to a new patient as they were with me.
I hope my experience was the exception and that those who need help receive it in an order that is beneficial to them...and not the clinic.
Not sure why someone has left such a low rating before me..but I have had nothing but great experiences with the mental health services provided by them. I've been struggling for so long and have never taken my mental health seriously until this year.. I didnt even know we had a mental health department in Adrian, but the day I inquired I was given so much information and immediately was given an appointment and everything took off from there very fast. Here I am now months later and still going to my appointments and receiving amazing care and support.
My only complaint is I wish the appointments with your psychiatrists were in person..but I do understand that there are a lot of people needing their help, so they cant be everywhere at once.
I am so so thankful that we have this office and the staff working for it.
