The "other" diving world ...
Here is the perfect place to venture off the crowded "Paradise Beaches" into another world of diving.
At first we were admitted, a little "surprised / shocked" that just around the corner is a huge industrial port. Is not exactly what you expect from your dive spot first.
But when you have dived for the first time and enter the world of critters, you are immediately addicted !!
The facility and the service are absolutely great!
Everything was very clean, staff not only friendly but warm, and food fantastic.
As we arrived, the longtime managers have just said goodbye, which was often raving about in other reviews. Of course I can not say what the old managers were, but the new ones are very good. We were extremely well looked after and cared for.
Generally we enjoyed never being treated like a guest, but always like a friend. And that both at the resort, as well as the dive staff.
With all the many exceptional and beautiful dive sites in the world, this is definitely one where you must have been several times. We'll be back for sure!
Awesome 10 days with Lembeh Resort & Critters@Lembeh. Amazing muck diving, great dive guides, great food, and a ton of fun.
Fantastic in everyway, I could write 10 pages of good things about my recent 8 day stay at Lembeh Resort and diving with critters@lembeh.
The transfer from Manado to Lembeh was swift and on time, the welcome and check in by Morton was super professional and I was made to feel relaxed right away. The room 4A was superb, it blew me away to be honest as was not was I was expecting.
The staff the good, the grounds were all just , I have nothing negative.
The diving with critters@lembeh was equally as good, I met Brigitte the dive man her and after a good briefing I decided to take the private boat and private guide option. I was given Sandro for the week and wow, did he impress me with his attention to detail, he found me 8 species of octopus and that included the blue ring and moloti from the first second of first dive until the last second of last dive he gave total attention, I would also like to mention my boat crew of mono who looked after me with water, towels, fruit and captain Teo who was also excellant.
This experience blew my mind in many aspects and I was sad to leave. Some might read this and think I have been paid to write this, I can assure you I'm a complainer but when a service or resort deserves praise like these guys then it's well deserved.
Anyone thinking of going to lembeh Resort to muck dive, do it, I did not experience muck, just diverse diving and animals making use of the crap we throw in there ocean world,. superb
Your best friend in Lembeh!
I attended the Underwater Macro Videography Workshop with Sascha Janson in July 2017. From the very first minutes after arrival to the resort we felt like we visited our old friends, who missed you for years and are very happy to finally see you, and who are trying their best to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. All resort staff was very friendly and helpful. They memorized first name of every guest, and were greeting everyone by their first name.
If there is any personal event, they will make sure that it is celebrated as well. I did my 100th dive during this trip, and they carved a water melon for me and decorated my bed. It was very touching and much appreciated.
One of the advantages of going to a such remote place is that most guests are very experienced divers (and in this case UW photographers), and being surrounded by such an experienced group of divers was an extra benefit. With my 100 dives I was one of the most 'junior' divers (not by age although).
The Workshop with the Award-Winning UW Photo/Video Pro Sascha Janson that I attended was very intensive and was delivered very well. Sascha kept the group very small (4 people), which had many benefits. I was not surprised that I learned a lot, but in our group there were two very experienced UW videographers, who mentioned that the workshop was very useful to them as well. In addition, Sascha was very helpful not only with giving tones of tips and tricks, but also with equipment. It felt like he knows and could fix anything.
Our boat crew was excellent, and critter hunters, Fandy and Vadly, were amazing in finding all those small critters that Lembeh is famous for.
My wife, who is not a diver, had a very good time as well. She took a trip to the village, had massage every other day (Angel is an excellent masseur) and went with us to a few dive sites for snorkelling.
Overall, we were very satisfied with the resort, and we would give it a nickname "Your best friend in Lembeh".
Big THANK YOU to the resort management, Morten and Petra, Lauren and Sascha, who created such genuinely friendly atmosphere and made our stay such a pleasure. We hope to see you again in the future.
Friendly Management and Staff, Beautiful view, good food, good massage. i enjoyed the snorkeling and my husband enjoyed the diving.
Great staff, great muck diving on the doorstep, good food, comfortable accommodations
I have been to lembeh 2 times and will be going again in a few weeks. yes its worth the trip. great diving a very comfortable place to stay and the food is very good . the staff is always ready to make your stay a time you will not soon forget. you will want to return.
Very nice resort with excellent cuisine. Diving is just special here and you discover new creatures with each dive
NAD Lembeh has everything for the UW photographer at a reasonable cost: a safe dive operation, knowledgeable guides, comfortable rooms, good food, and a dedicated room for camera maintenance. They know all the great dive sites and interact with guests, so you feel welcome. I wish I could have stayed longer!
Great dive guides. They never lost track of anyone even when the vis wasn't so good. Photographers can be tricky to keep track of especially when there are a lot of us
The food was good and the cabins neat. The boats are also very good and the dive crews were pleasant and helpful. The resort has an underwater photographer on staff that is there to help anyone who needs it and to repair equipment if necessary. He has a whole lab dedicated to the purpose.
Overall one of the best diving experiences you can have together with friendly and extremly competent staff and dive guides. I'd give 6 stars if I could
Absolutely amazing place to stay. Kind and happy staff is always ready to help. Great diving as well!
We'd love to come back
The Lembeh Resort is just a beautiful and relaxing resort to dive, swim and enjoy good food and great service. It's very secluded, with a bay of its own, so it feels like you are on your own island, and then fact that they don't have too many people at resort at a time also helps with that. After a few days you will know everybody at the resort and everybody will know you. They are also very conscious about preservation of local species, be it animals of the sea or of the land, they avoid things like palm oil at all costs and most of the food is freshly made at the resort itself, and, of course, super tasty. I attached some photos to best describe my stay there, it's a definite 6 out of 5!
