The square was originally a gentrified residential area. Several major theatres were built in the 19th century, which were converted to cinemas towards the middle of the next. Leicester Square holds a number of nationally significant cinemas such as the Odeon Leicester Square which are often used for film premieres. The square has always had a park in its center.

It was during the Covid lockdown that my wife and I visited Leicester Square, during our exercise walk.
It was very quiet compared to the usual hustle and bustle. We enjoyed seeing the statues of many famous fictional and nonfictional characters.
We do however look forward to seeing and being in the hustle and bustle again.

Amazing ancient Square surrounded by many big names cinemas were film premier screenings often take place. Leicester Square tube is one minutes walk from Leicester Square itself and it sits adjacent to Chinatown with its many enticing restaurants supermarkets and Chinese patisseries. At the centre of Leicester Square lies the statue of William Shakespeare with it s Fountains. Soho Charing Cross Road Tottenham Court road and many other options such as Theatreland are all very close by.

This is one of my favourite spots in London and I often like to sit here with my coffee and observe the world around me. It s just the simple pleasures in your day that makes your life worth living. The street entertainers here are extremely talented and always leave people around them stunned!

I love Leicester Square especially when it s right...

I love Leicester Square especially when it s right next to Piccadilly Circus and Covent Garden including near Trafalgar Square and Cambridge Circus in Central London.

It s one of my most favourite spots to visit at including Piccadilly Circus too.

I had a few memories over there since I was very young. It feels like a very long time but I am definitely gonna come back here so often in the future when the time is right.

I would 100 percent recommend to Leicester Square to anyone who hasn t been here before. You do not want to miss out if you ever explore around Central London.

Giving this 5 stars and 10 out of 10.
