We and Kid loved the place, one of the iconic buildings of NYC. There are tickets for different floors of the building, buy tickets online to save time in queues, price is same either online counter. We felt it is bit expensive for what it offers.

make sure you don't try and take pictures with written signs/boards (u holding a sign saying FREE THE MONKEYS or something... Security will appear and throw you off the building...)
JUST KIDDING! They won't throw you off

Being locals we felt we had to visit here, as it is the iconic Empire State Building. It was a pleasant experience, the viewing deck is authentic and historic. However the view from The Rocafella is better, but personally I love the vibe here.

Iconic building and interesting museum. We didn t want to go to the 84th 360 view because of the line for the elevator but I did want to go to the other side of the 80th floor. But I couldn t because you could only access that when you get down from the 84th which was lame.

You should definitely buy fast track tickets, otherwise you ll be in line for a looooong time. We were there in July, had fast track tickets so we got up to the top really fast - it only took time because of the elevators.

Be prepared though, you see in movies how it s so calm up there, maybe 4-5 people - that s not the reality. You will be standing there with so many people, trying to get to the edge. But, it s worth it.

It s one of those high rises in the New York which raised a lot of crazes but believe me this is such overhyped place that if you even skip it, you hardly miss anything. The 86th floor view is quite common of any other skyscrapers- but the 102nd floor is a myth and fluke that charges you another $20 and you actually feel like a nuts after visiting.....

If this building is one on your bucketlist then the best time to go is early in the morning, and more important...not in the weekend. But take a sunny clear day for the best view. Pass the phototakers (in front of a green screen) Buying a photo cost about $35,-. So pass it, it is not a shame. After the Empirestate building, take the Metro to Downtown/Brooklin(R or W) to enter the WTC One tower. You'll be there in 20 minutes. Step out on Rectorstreet. Have fun!

We always love a visit to the top of the building, but going during Covid was an awesome experience... we had the entire observation deck to ourselves for more than 30 minutes... no other tourists! Usually there are hundreds of people up there and it s hard to see around everyone. Also, no line what so ever! An absolutely amazing and beautiful experience!

I'm in an Empire state of mind. Feel on top of the world seeing Manhattan from the 86th floor of the Empire state building. Completed in 1931. To get there, you can walk south a few blocks down from Grand Central Station. Or take a subway train to 33 St. Walk to 34th St off 5th Avenue. The ESB has been there a long time since 1931, waiting for you to go up and enjoy the views. Take panoramic photos to capture a wider angle of view.

While a bit on the expensive side, I really did enjoy the experience. I'm not much of a touristy type, but they had a cool museum area where they go over the initial construction and everything. The viewing areas are really pretty amazing with an open-air balcony on the standard tour. We went up to the very top floor and was only marginally more impressed as it was little more than a elevator service tour at that point. Will take my kids though the next time we are there.

The view is amazing. One can see all directions from the observation deck. The river and the skyscrapers, and the cars so tiny down below. If the day is cloudy, then the view will be obstructed. There are binoculars one can pay to see through. The top deck isnwork the extra $20. There are gift shops and photos to take as one goes through the tour. Getting a map will be an asset to identifying buildings.

I got here in the morning and it was empty. The staff was helpful and I quickly got my tickets. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day. I give it a 5 due to the service and the wind on the top was incredible.

Besides being too cold it was a breathtaking experience.. We went up around 9pm. Not a lot of people. We didnt have to wait that much. I thought it was expensive just to go up the elevator. $70 for 2. plus picture $35. plus they drop you off in the store..were we spent another $100. So be ready to spend near 200 dollars for a wonderful view.

Pretty amazing view, way better at night. The lines can be extremely long trying to get in so I suggest buying a ticket online to skip the line waiting on buying tickets. It's more waiting and standing in line after that to get to the elevators that will take you to the top. It requires a lot of patience and but it's really worth it

Beautiful views. I caught the very end of sunset and it was very crowded. There are 2 sets of elevators, one from G-79 and another up to 86. Sometimes they allow you to walk up/down those 7 flights, which I did but the stairwell was fairly deserted.

Went there on a weeknight but still had a long line around 10 PM. Line was going much faster than I anticipated! However, there was a mechanical issue with the elevator so we had to take the stairs from 80th to 86th floor. Other than that, the view up there was just simply magnificent and breathtaking. Definitely worth the price.

The most popular attraction in New York City. But if your looking to visit the observation deck, PLAN AHEAD!!!
The lines yo go to the observation deck can be downright crowded. Especially during the holiday seasons like Memorial day, Fourth of July, thanksgiving, and Christmas. Best time to visit the Empire State Building is a few weeks after the new year during the months of winter when tourist travel is low.

Worth spending every minute on 86th floor. If you take the City pass then you have an opportunity to go at night also. If you are going to 102 floor then go during daytime. It's a haven for photographers.

Wow. The admission price is steep but well worth the visit. The new set up is nice and will give you plenty of time to see the history of this historical building. Enjoy the displays, the time you have before reaching the observation deck is A-OK. The personal working the crowd for the most part are very informative and helpful. Of course your final destination, the observation deck awaits and the views (on the good days) are amazing. Walking around with a 360 degree view of Manhattan and the surrounding Boroughs, Counties, islands, rivers and yes even New Jersey are awesome. Hope you have fun in this landmark building and enjoy all it has to offer. .

This is an obvious must see if you re a tourist visiting NYC or if you re a native. The views from the top are pretty amazing. There are obviously a thousand other places to see or, shop or eat at in the immediate area.

Amazing !

Amazing !
Our visit was fantastic. We did the day and night pass bought it with the Citi Pass. Very worth it to see it during both day and night because it s just breathtaking. I loved it.
It was very busy during the day, extremely crowded. However at night it wasn t crowded at all, we got there about 9 pm and was able to walk right in and go up we didn t have to wait for an hour to get on the elevator. Or walk 7 flights of steps like we did in the daytime. It was optional but it wasn t fun.
I recommend going during the day and night. You can even see the Statue of Liberty !

The other reviewers are absolutely correct, all of the employees here are pathetic, parasitic scum who are very rude and obnoxious. The idiots should all be fired. Whoever hires them should be fired as well. These losers give this magnificent building a very bad and lasting first impression to all that visit her from around the world. I could overlook the ridiculously long lines and the excessively-high prices to get up to the observation deck, as well as the snack bar and gift shop, but I draw the line at paying for the obnoxiousness and rudeness from the lowlife scum they hire. I highly recommend you go elsewhere to a building that welcomes and appreciates tourists.

This is an awesome place and must visit place when in New York.
Plan to go to the top for a picturesque view of the city skyline at dusk.
You will see the changing colors of the New York skyline as the evening gets darker, It is quite a sight to behold.
The staff at the Empire state building are very friendly and very helpful. Just ask them any question about the history of the Empire state building and they are very happy and eager to tell you a lot of really great information about this building.
When I go to New York City, I always make the Empire state building one of my regular stops.

The view from here is amazing, and I would suggest that the night view is even better than the day. However it is REALLY EXPENSIVE, and the lines are massive. The lines make Disneyland seem like a short wait. This building makes more from all the tourists than it does from renting out the office space now. My kids did not really appreciate the view and I should have saved some money and just given each of them $20 to do some shopping.

Liked it however it is overpriced. Great views The upper observatory on 102 floor was closed for renovations. It was over $60 for one adult and one child. It s even more if the higher observatory is opened.

Always an amazing experience!! Second time going. Incredible, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Simple lines. 80 mile views on a clear day. Unlike One World Trade, ESB is in the middle of NYC, giving you a view of literally everything. If you're adventuring NYC, it is a MUST-STOP!
