LEAP Legal Software Review

LEAP has been great in helping me run a more productive business. The timesheets function and access to monthly reports helps to keep me on track for the weekly, monthly and annual goals for my practice.

LEAP has other hidden features which makes this program stand out from other programs like a complimentary website. Further, LEAP actually will take your feedback to update your forms and allow you to provide feedback. They are constantly improving their application across all platforms to make it uniform.

Leap is a great, all-in-one law firm management program! Keep up the good work!

Very pleased with the software. It makes practicing law much more efficient. Leap has automated forms from several practice areas and it allows you to automate your own forms as well. Access all your files via the LEAP mobile app. The Customer service is great and the one on one training is fantastic.

My firm has used Leap for a little over a year. Leap has made us a more efficient and effective representatives of our clients while allowing us to more accurately capture time spent on client matters. Hands down the best client management system we have used.

We have been using Leap for almost 6 months at our firm (13 attorneys, 12 staff) and we love it. It took some time for everyone to truly grasp all of the features, it is a vast program with lots to learn. Once it all starts clicking you realize all that it can do for you and your practice! It has made billing and document management so much easier for us. It is so nice to have everything you need in one place! Also the app is great and wonderful for those attorneys on the go. I can't say enough about how patient the staff at Leap have been with us and how helpful they were through the transition and continue to be!

BEWARE -

ABSOLUTELY AGREE with Attorney Nima Ameri and others who highlight the LEAP's unfair trade practices. It feels like LEAP is focused on making a quick bucks rather than gaining and retaining their clientele. LEAP offers a guarantee and cancellation however the financing contract you sign does not allow for a cancellation. So, even if you cancel LEAP because of their misrepresentation of a material fact, you are responsible for the financing according to their agreement. Though they confirmed that their product would work in Apple devices, after we signed the contract, we came to know through our own IT contractor that actually their software did not work in Apple devices and required additional purchase from LEAP. Of course, they charge additional fee for it. When we requested cancellation, they offered to cover some of the cost of the purchase price of the additional tools. When we requested cancellation, they sent us an invoice for the 30% of the contract price even though they had not even created a user account for us and we had never been to their system as a user.

Watching their demo, I can state that LEAP does not function as advertised in my opinion. They lack basic functionality required for immigration practice, specifically. I absolutely would NOT recommend LEAP to anyone, from my experience.

I am a LEAP user. I give it 4.5 stars because there is room for improvement, but I can't do that using google reviews so I rounded up.

I have a solo firm and we used CLIO for years. While Clio was a good system, it was TOO basic. It's technology did not keep getting better, rather it stagnated. They required you to basically purchase upgrades from third party vendors to make their system better, instead of doing it themselves. I was using 4 vendors to make the system work, integrating time entries while sending out emails, sending and receiving secure attachments.

I really wanted to transition into a platform that did it all. I found Leap late Spring and worked through the transition. They do need to be more forthcoming about the technology requirements of your computers, because some people may sign on and find out they have to upgrade their computers before they can begin. Also, the transition was LONG, it took over a month. Finally, all the information didn't come over exactly as was described to me during the transition. Ultimately, it didn't matter, but the expectation was set and not fulfilled exactly.

The other issue I had with LEAP and they need to change it is that they quote you monthly, and you sign an agreement. Afterward, all of a sudden a finance company calls you a few days later and says that you have to sign financing paperwork through them and they are paying LEAP for the whole year and you can pay them monthly. I Said HELL NO and told them I was going to terminate. I'm not financing a monthly deal with some unknown finance company. NO DEAL. They ended up backing down, and I pay monthly directly with LEAP. That is pretty shady, so ASK in advance.

One last area that needs to be mentioned and LEAP needs to change is to allow your membership to include at least one sign on for a support staff at no additional charge. You basically have to pay for your administrative assistant as though they were an attorney and that's a big Con.

Now the good part, and there is a lot of it. Once I transitioned over, I began learning all of the features. It integrates with quickbooks, I have an intake system (for free) that can create a new client with the click of a button, I can send secure messages, I can keep track of time of outgoing phone calls using my cell phone if I make them using the app, and the mobile and tablet app are way advanced (you can do most everything).

LEAP provided me with 2 different training sessions at the beginning to get me some basic knowledge. Learning a new platform is not easy. It takes time to kick the tires and figure things out. Some things could be improved, but whenever I have had a question, I have someone who can help. My rep, Cathie Orgill, has helped me on numerous things from changing the headers on my invoices to inputting time on an invoice that didn't populate correctly.

LEAP also provides forms. It creates pleadings for me using those forms. There is definitely room for improvement, and I do have mixed feelings because some STATE specific forms categories are empty for Florida. But overall that is WAY better than CLIO with NO forms.

It also works seamlessly with MICROSOFT!!! Outlook emails saved in your management system, you can save time on the email, on a word document, etc. For anyone that bills hourly, this is a game changer over CLIO (clio I had to pay and use a third party app to do this and it wasn't as robust as LEAP and it would only work on my computer).

DON'T REST LEAP, I am hoping that your functionality improves in areas where it is needed, but it is a powerhouse of a matter management system for us smaller firms!!!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH LEAP. Trust me, this is my first 2-star rating ever. This company will string you along and pressure you but will not let your out of the contract even if you meet the criteria specified in their agreement to cancel. When you sign up, they will , without notice, tie you in with a finance company that you are obligated to keep paying while they get paid up front. They are very dishonest, and sneaky. Plus their software sucks, there are more work-arounds that there practical features.

Awesome software for our growing law firm. The billing features are great. Works great for lawyers on the go with iphones and ipads. Client support is also key!

Truly the world's best practice management system for small law firms.

We started with using Leap approximately 3 years ago and I think it is the most flexible practice management tool that allows for maximum security and accessibility. I have used serve based products that are more secure but far less accessible and less user friendly. I have used other cloud based products also and found them to have limited access and security. The combo of a "Dropbox style" desktop app and the 365 cloud service is a perfect marriage of the two.

I have been using LEAP for three years and am 100% satisfied with the system and continuous upgrades, that make this the best fully integrated legal software. Cathie Orgill is always available and makes sure you are up to date on all the new functions. Leap enables me to be more productive and allows me to manage my time more efficiently. I am able to focus on current clients and cultivating new relationships.

Leap has a fantastic product that is very unique. My whole office runs off of it. If we could only get live tech support, I would rate it higher.

LEAP is the absolute best! My entire practice is on LEAP and my staff and I use it every day, all day, to keep us organized. I work in a practice area where there are multiple contacts on each case and we could not keep them straight without LEAP. I would recommend LEAP to anyone looking to start up a practice or make a change from their current software.

I have been impressed with the software. It has been a time saver. What impresses me more though is the personal service and the ongoing interest the LEAP staff has in making sure I am successful in using the product. The webinars, the on-line support, and follow ups by LEAP are excellent.

I have a very small office, as such a service such as LEAP is essential. I had previously tried another service and although it was good, it did not rise to the level that LEAP does. LEAP allows me to utilize my time in a manner that is most cost effective and productive. I recommend LEAP to all my colleagues and friends. The LEAP team is also responsive to my needs and recommendations if I find that something is not included in the service, they make every effort to accommodate my needs.

I am a solo practitioner and LEAP helps me organize my matters and materials. It also saves time with drafting my documents. Last, LEAP's customer service is wonderful. They are responsive and are sure to follow up.

Excellent Legal Practice management software. User friendly. Integrates exceptionally well with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Quickbooks and LawPay. Mobile App is second to none. I was using a different practice management software for 14 years but made the switch because LEAP is so much more superior, intuitive and is constantly getting better. Highly recommended.

We recently started a small family law firm and chose Leap as our document management software. It is completely different than anything we have used in the past. So far, we are very impressed with the functions in Leap and how user friendly it is. If I could give the staff 100 our of 5 stars I would. I am so impressed with everyone we have worked with and the tech support is the best I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I'm only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the invoicing doesn't work how we need it too and doesn't always make sense to the clients. I'm sure with a little help, we will be able to set the invoicing up the way we need it to read. Again, the employees that work with Leap, from initial contact to everyday support, are incredible. I would definitely recommend Leap for small law firms.

i have to say that this is the easiest program to use. We also have received unbelievable training with wonderful staff from leap. I wish we changed over long ago.

I am very happy with this program, having used it for 4 years and counting. My favorite feature, and the one that caused me to choose LEAP over all the other practice management programs, is the ability to access matters and documents while off-line, which I have to do on a daily basis in my practice.

Their tech support is highly responsive and helpful.

The trust accounting is another great feature that I couldn't live without.

It is packed with many features that I don't even use, having such a small office.

The only reason I'm giving it 4 starts instead of 5 is price. It is one of the most expensive programs on the market, and they charge the same amount for each user, which adds up fast.

I have been using LEAP software for my solo practice for over one year. LEAP enabled me to consolidate all of my client and case information, calendar, document creation and management, and billing in one user-friendly format. If I were creative and technically savvy, this is the software that I would create. The customer support and training is outstanding.

Beside founding The Law Office of Frank J. Materia, using LEAP has been the greatest decision I have ever made in my legal career!! LEAP makes practicing law easy! From creating documents to sending Invoices to properly keeping track of my billable hours. LEAP is the greatest legal assistant a solo practitioner can ask for!! And with the LEAP phone app, my law office is with me--my office is in my pocket at all times. I wish I had LEAP in law school!!

I have now been using Leap for 6 months. The product is extremely feature-rich and Leap is constantly seeking to improve the software and add additional features. The staff is excellent and receptive to ideas and feedback. Their platform has allowed me to consolidate my firm's technology in one place, allowing me to concentrate on clients and legal work.

I recently moved to Leap in August and love it. It is integrated with Law Pay, MDEC, and Microsoft Office. More importantly my staff loves the new system and learns each day more that can be done on Leap. All information is located in one place, my pleadings, my emails, my notes, my excel sheets and all documents. I only click into the file, and there is no need to go anywhere else. The client support team is fantastic! Also the reports generated are very comprehensive.

We unfortunately are taking advantage of the money back guarantee. I have spent nearly 10 hours this week (all unbillable time) attempting to get the billing out. This program is not ready for the US market at this time.

Terrific service, especially for small law firms. Lots of hand holding, which is key at the start, and very intuitive. Learning curve is short and easy to climb. Highly recommended.

I use the mobile app every day. I leave the office with my iPad, head to court, and do not have to carry large folders. Great software and the trainer (Joseph Hussey) is truly amazing. Thank god he is also patient.

I have liked Leap from the moment I saw it last year. I decided to take the "Leap" to Leap early this year and, while circumstances beyond my control have prevented me from fully implementing the program, I like what I have seen so far. The program is clean, organized, and capable of providing all key functions for successful law practice management, including the all-important document automation and billing integration functions. The support staff has been incredible, not only answering any questions I may have, but by sending emails reminding me that they are available to talk at my convenience. Many thanks to Joseph Hussey and everyone at the company who have made me feel that I am an important client. I am looking forward to fully integrate and work with the company to move my practice onward and upward!

LEAP has revolutionized our office management from billing to document management to email. It has made the entire operation of our office exponentially more efficient.

My firm, which includes 5 attorneys, 1 full-time paralegal (myself), and 1 part-time paralegal/admin, transitioned to using LEAP in September 2018. Nine months later I can't fathom how we functioned without it (certainly less efficiently!). I am consistently surprised and pleased by how responsive the LEAP and Jayva teams are, and how quickly and professionally they react when we bring an issue to their attention. They have responded to our feedback graciously, and in fact implemented many of the changes we suggested would make their program easier or more effective.

The software itself is versatile, functional, and certainly more efficient than the program we were using before. My favorite feature, hands-down, are the custom templates. As someone who drafts a lot of legal documents, I was able to take my firm's templates and not just turn them into LEAP templates, but make them incredible efficient with the sheer flexibility that their custom templating software makes possible. Learning how to make the most of their custom templating took some time, but they offered multiple in-person/Zoom trainings as well as hosting webinars on their website and having written materials to refer to.

I could not recommend LEAP enough. For a small firm like mine, it is exactly what we were looking for.

I have a small law firm and we switched to leap about a year ago. This product has been an incredible asset and very easy to use. It integrates with Adobe, microsoft office and allows convenient access whether on a phone, tablet or desktop! I couldn't be happier!

We have been using Leap for 7 months at our firm and we love it! This company has thought about everything you would and will need and put it into their software. I am so impressed with the team of people that I have worked with starting with the sales team, ending with the client success manager and everyone in between. The billing process is so much easier. I have shaved hours off of my time with that alone. The document management process is so organized and makes a huge difference in how you work. Jacquie West, who on boarded us was amazing. Not only did we receive training but she spent time with us after the transition which was invaluable. She was so patient at explaining everything and really went above and beyond. They don't just show up, train you and leave. They are there when you are using the software the first few days and help with any problems or questions that arise. They also come back! This was huge for the success of the transition. I would highly recommend Leap.

BEWARE~ LEAP

Read the contract, LEAP offers a guarantee and cancellation however the financing contract you sign does not allow for a cancellation. So even if you cancel LEAP you are responsible for the financing according to their agreement. LEAP also does not function as advertised in my opinion. I had a horrible experience with LEAP, and in my opinion they refused to stand behind their product. This product, in my opinion, is not designed for any legitimate law firm with more then 1-2 attorneys. When I used it they lacked even the most basic of litigation forms. It is really for family law attorneys and PI firms. I absolutely would NOT recommend LEAP to anyone, from my experience. If you want to know more, my firm has recently sued them in Hudson County. You can follow the case on public records and e-courts.

Our firm has been using LEAP for close to two years. It makes creating, organizing and storing all of our documents a breeze and getting out monthly invoices incredibly easy. We are definitely serving our clients better, saving money, making money and being more productive and effective..

I investigated multiple companies when the decision was made to upgrade our software. I was greatly impressed with LEAP. The program is outstanding. LEAP staff from sales and installation to ongoing support have been so helpful and accommodating that the transition went extremely smoothly. As a sole practitioner, we do not have immense time in our schedule to deal with software. LEAP made it efficient and smooth. My assistance is very happy with the fact that everything can be accomplished in one screen from calling clients, producing pleadings, drafting letters and emails to client and opposing counsel, storage of data and files and scheduling. My billing clerk is thrilled with the new billing system. LEAP accommodated all of our requested to personalize our monthly bills without one complaint. When you call for assistance at any step in the process calls are returned immediately. Having all of the legal templates available is so helpful. I am highly satisfied with the program and all of the staff. Thanks LEAP for moving my office into the future.

Our law office, O'Connor and Ryan, P.C., maintains an office in Leominster, MA with two lawyers and three paralegals. We now use LEAP Legal Software and are very pleased, not only with the product but with the extraordinary support services. Any issues or questions are dealt with immediately and resolved very quickly. I had some interface issues with a new laptop. The support staff at LEAP dealt with my issue on a Sunday and resolved it very quickly. The entire LEAP system is a time saving document management system and much more - it is now an essential part of our office and our practice.

I swear by LEAP! I wonder how I managed before I got the system. It is intuitive and easy to use. The more you use it the more you realize that the system does a lot more than you understood when you started. For example, for the first 2 years, I didn't use the invoicing system or the trust account management system. These save HOURS of time and keep you in compliance with the AOC. Can't say enough good things about LEAP and the LEAP staff!!!

Don't give your info to them. They will continue to harass you, call, and email even after you've told them to stop. I went as far as set up a demonstration and received 3 phone calls and followup emails a day after that to the point where I had to cancel the demonstration because I was tired of their pushy ways. Stay away and use a different software management system. I'm sure there is fine but they do not have respectful ways to handle their sales tactics.

This software makes life as a legitimate Solo Practitioner SOOOOO much easier. Without office staff running a practice is sometimes difficult. LEAP takes away a lot of the guess work. From Client Profiles to billing to form preparation LEAP has an answer for your needs.

Our practice area is Workers' Compensation. Leap automated all of the Massachusetts Workers' Compensation Forms for us. Creating, editing and saving these forms is extremely easy with Leap. Also, Leap's Customer Service is Outstanding!

We recently switched over from Abacus Law. It takes some getting used to, but they are always ready to help and teach everything.

Love the system and service, especially love the account reconciliation function.

LEAP is extremely helpful for compiling documents quickly and streamlining for cloud, pay, and accounting services. Highly recommend.

Our office had a few problems in the beginning with LEAP, but now we are doing very well with the software. Cathie Orgill has been extremely responsive. She visited our office twice, and solved all of our outstanding issues. Cathie has also made herself available for questions over the phone, which has been most helpful. We are now very satisfied with LEAP.

The program has dramatically changed the performance of our practice. The integration with Microsoft office has been fairly seamless and extremely helpful for many reasons. I definitely recommend this product for the small firm/solo. Additionally Leap has Cathy Orgill as part of their management team, who was excellent in organized and streamlined our processes and allowed us to fully utilize the program's capabilities.

If I could leave no I stars I would. I Decided to cancel after actually being able to read the contract, which has hidden fees. Cancelled less than 24 hours after agreement, and learned they do not honor money back guarantee. They never set up the software and have started billing me for it even though I don't even have it set up. They want a 30 percent cancellation fee, even though they have not expended any resources in justifying the fee. A total scam and an unprofessionally run company. If the product is so good, they would not need to tie you up in a contract.

I have a solo family law practice and decided to go with Leap two years ago. I have been very pleased with how their case management software has added value to my practice. I couldn't imagine practicing solo without them.

Fantastic integration with Microsoft Office products, Quickbooks, and Lawpay. I've used several different practice management programs over the years and highly recommend this product for solo and small firms. Very good customer service follow-up and software training as well.

We switched to LEAP about four months ago - I am so glad we did. I feel that it has made my office more efficient and we can now work remotely much more readily than ever before.
